Let's go to the beach, each
Trust the beach holiday company to dish you up the "beaches are free and we love them so much" spiel... but we're not wrong, in fact, that's the exact spiel you're about to get. It's predictable, but what did you expect? Most of our hotels come with their own private beach, meaning you're only ever a flip-flop away from the sand, and you can chill there at no extra cost. Sometimes sunbeds and parasols might cost you a smidge to rent for the day, but even this is usually incredibly cheap, depending which beach you go to.
Park on site
No, we're not talking about car-parking. That would be a bit dull, no offence to anyone interested in that. But we're here to talk about cheap fun, and what could be more fun than a whopping waterpark or thrilling theme park right on your doorstep?! (Sol Katmandu, we're looking at you.) Not only will you save costs on transfers because you won't have to travel beyond the hotel for a day out, but most hotels with parks on site throw in tickets for FREE, or at a discounted price, so you can slip down slides and ride those 'coasters to your heart's content. We'd say it's a kiddos' dream, but...it's kind of our dream too!
Don't knock the pool
Listen, we might be Team Beach over here (for obvious reasons), but we don't think the pool gets enough credit. It might sound obvious, but the most convenient FREE activity to do on holiday is...well, chill by the pool! We've got plenty of hotels with huge, lagoon-style pools, multiple pools to pick from, pools with bridges, pools with Jacuzzi jets, private swim-up pools and MORE. Go for one of these bad boys, and we guarantee you'll never be bored of a good ol' pool day. Throw in a poolside bar for all your cocktail/mocktail-slurping needs, and you're cheap holidays are well on their way to perfection.
Get your steps in
Exercise isn't typically our idea of holiday heaven, but somehow doing 10,000 steps on holiday with the sea as your backdrop doesn't feel quite as laborious as 10,000 steps around the block at home in the rain. If you like a good walk, try choosing a hotel that's got beaut scenery (good luck choosing), nearby hiking trails and local towns to explore. Some hotels even have bike rental right at the reception if you're less about the two leg stroll and alllll about the two wheel roll - rentals are never gonna break the bank, and it's a great way to get out and about. Either way, if you've got hours to kill, might as well make the most of your jolly - your Insta feed will thank you later.
