Booking your summer hol should *never* be stressful - that's why, if you book a qualifying holiday* (we're covering city breaks and beach jollies, people!) between 23rd Jan - 3rd Feb or from 17th Feb onwards, we'll make it our personal mission to guarantee you THE cheapest deal. We're already cheap as chips, but we're gonna let you call our bluff if you find the exact same holiday for a cheaper price on our website (and it's at least 60 days before take-off) - because we'll give you a voucher for the difference! You heard us. No one's getting ripped off around here - not on our PriceWatch.

In a short answer - YES. We've had over 500 claims via our app so far, and almost 5,000 people have checked their holiday for Price Drop Protection eligibility through our app. Why not join the club?

Price Drop Protection – Full Terms & Conditions

1. Promoter: This promotion is offered by On the Beach Limited, whose registered office is 5 Adair Street, Manchester, M1 2NQ ("OTB"). By participating in the promotion, you shall be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions.

2. How it works: If you make a Qualifying Booking (as set out below) and the total price of the Same Holiday (as set out below) offered by OTB drops between the date of booking and 60 days prior to the departure date of the Qualifying Booking, you can claim the difference in price.

3. Campaign Period: Price Drop Protection is valid on eligible bookings made from 00:01 Monday 17th February. These terms apply to Qualifying Bookings (as set out below) made from 10:00 Tuesday 13th May 2025. If you made an eligible booking prior to this date, please see www.onthebeach.co.uk/holidays/pricewatch/price-drop-protection-v1 for the Price Drop Protection Terms and Conditions which apply to your booking.

4. Eligibility

  • To participate in the promotion:

    • you must be aged 18 or over and be a resident of the UK;

    • make a Qualifying Booking. A “Qualifying Booking” means a booking that meets all of the following requirements:

      • a package holiday (including flights and accommodation) for any star rating and board basis booked via the OTB UK website or app which features the ‘Price Drop Protection’ feature, prominently displayed on the booking detail page;

      • holiday must be booked from 10:00 Tuesday 13th May 2025;

      • the holiday must be booked at least 60 days prior to travel;

      • the booking is up to date with payments and remains active; and

      • does not fall within one of the exclusions as set out at paragraph 6.

    • you must download the OTB app to a supported smartphone to check and claim Price Drop Protection.

5. Same Holiday

  • The "Same Holiday" means a holiday that:

    • is publicly available on the OTB UK website or app (price differences against package holidays provided by other holiday companies or travel agents (including holidays booked on www.sunshine.co.uk and www.onthebeach.ie are excluded);

    • includes the same flights (airline, airports, dates and times) as the Qualifying Booking;

    • includes the same accommodation at the same resort/hotel and on the same board basis and room type as the Qualifying Booking;

    • includes the same number and ages of customers as the Qualifying Booking;

    • if included in the Qualifying Booking, the same baggage as the Qualifying Booking (whether that is a checked-in hold luggage, large cabin bag or small cabin bag); and

    • excludes the cost of any other holiday extras, including without limitation, transfers and insurance that may be offered by OTB from time to time.

6. Exclusions / Restrictions

  • Price differences resulting from changes in taxes, fees, or charges imposed by airlines, governments, or other authorities are excluded.

  • Price differences resulting from promo codes, exclusive discounts, or loyalty rewards are excluded.

  • Price differences resulting from pricing errors are excluded.

  • If you cancel the Qualifying Booking, you will not be eligible to participate in this promotion.

  • If you amend the Qualifying Booking, you will not be eligible to participate in this promotion.

  • Package holidays booked on www.sunshine.co.uk and www.onthebeach.ie are excluded.

7. How to Check and Claim

  • You will be able to check the price of the Same Holiday against your Qualifying Booking in the OTB app by logging into your account associated with the Qualifying Booking, navigating to the ‘Price Drop Protection’ section of your Qualifying Booking and clicking the ‘Check Price Drop Protection’ button.

  • Our systems will automatically check the current price of the Same Holiday and advise you if it is cheaper than your Qualifying Booking.

  • If our system finds that the price of the Same Holiday is less than the price of your Qualifying Booking, you will have the option to make a claim for the price difference shown (“Price Drop”).

  • Claims must be made at the same time as the option to claim is offered. If the price of the Same Holiday changes between checking the price and making a claim for the Price Drop, your claim will be refused and deemed unsuccessful.

  • Only the lead booker named on the Qualifying Booking can submit the claim.

  • Only 1 successful claim can be submitted per Qualifying Booking. Multiple claims following a successful claim will not be accepted. If the claim is unsuccessful then another claim can be submitted.

  • Once a successful claim has been made, you will no longer be able to check the price of the Same Holiday against your Qualifying Booking in the OTB app.

8. Credit Voucher

  • If a claim is successful, a Credit Voucher for the Price Drop will be immediately issued into the lead booker’s OTB Wallet.

  • The Credit Voucher can be redeemed against any future OTB package holiday (including flights and accommodation) listed on www.onthebeach.co.uk which departs after the departure date of the original Qualifying Booking. To redeem the Credit Voucher, the lead booker must be logged in to the same OTB account used to make the Qualifying Booking.

  • The Credit Voucher cannot be used as a deposit on the future booking but will be automatically applied in equal proportions against any instalments or monthly payments after that.

  • The Credit Voucher must be selected on the OTB UK website or app at the point of booking the future OTB package holiday. Credit Vouchers cannot be applied retrospectively to bookings.

  • Credit Vouchers will expire 12 months after the departure date of the original Qualifying Booking. Credit voucher must be redeemed in full before the expiry date; partial use is not permitted.

  • If the future OTB package holiday booking is cancelled after voucher redemption, voucher will not be refunded, nor can it be applied to a different booking.

  • If the Qualifying Booking is cancelled for any reason, the Credit Voucher will be cancelled.

  • Credit vouchers are not covered by ABTA’s scheme of financial protection. If applicable, financial protection will apply when you make a booking and it is confirmed.

  • Credit Vouchers are non-transferable, have no cash alternative, and may only be used by the recipient using the same email address and account to which it was originally issued. OTB reserves the right to cancel and reclaim the value of any credit voucher for breach of these terms including, without limitation, where the credit voucher is transferred.

  • OTB are not responsible for vouchers that are lost, stolen, deleted, or used without permission.

Lisa: We did know about it and it did give us reassurance when we booked.

Did you check the price every day to see if it had gone down?

Sharnjeet: I checked the price 2 days after booking as I'm always keen to check if we got the best deal. When I saw the price drop, I checked every few days after to see if it would change.

How did you feel when you saw the price had dropped?

Sharnjeet: I was initially disappointed to see that the price had dropped after I made my booking. However, once I learned about the Price Drop Protection and understood that I could benefit from the difference, I felt relieved and satisfied, knowing that I was still getting the best possible value for my holiday.

Can you confirm how much you received in credit?

Sharnjeet: I received a total of £572.

Lisa: [I claimed] £370.

What did you think when we gave you back the money? Could you believe it was real?

Sharnjeet: I was pleasantly surprised when I received the voucher, and that took only a few days after submitting my details! It felt almost too good to be true, as it’s rare to find companies that honour price drops after a purchase. It definitely exceeded my expectations and reinforced my trust in your company’s commitment to customer satisfaction!

Will you put this towards a holiday this year or save it for next year?

Lisa: We will likely put it towards our next big holiday for next year.

Sharnjeet: I would likely put it towards a holiday this year, as it feels like an unexpected bonus that makes another trip more affordable. It’s a great incentive to book again sooner rather than later.

As we're bringing Price Drop Protection back, what would you say to someone who is looking to book their holiday – would you encourage them to book?

Sharnjeet: Absolutely. I would tell them that Price Drop Protection offers peace of mind, knowing that if the price drops after they book, they’ll get the difference back. It removes the worry of booking too early and missing out on better deals later. I’d definitely encourage them to take advantage of this, as it makes the booking process feel much more secure and customer-focused.

Do you think it guarantees customers the lowest deal because you can claim the money back in credit?

Sharnjeet: Yes, it effectively guarantees customers the lowest deal, as they have the reassurance that if the price drops, they’ll receive the difference back in credit. This ensures they won’t pay more than necessary, even if better deals become available after they book. It creates a sense of security and confidence in making the purchase, knowing they’re protected against price fluctuations.

Any tips for claiming back the money? How often would you check the price?

Sharnjeet: I would definitely recommend to check the price at least twice a week, especially during promotional periods when prices are more likely to fluctuate. Also, keep your booking details handy to speed up the process. Make sure your familiar with the terms of the promotion so you don't miss out if you pass the time limit. Lastly, if you see the price drop, reach out to the friendly customer service who will be happy to assist.
