Easter Holidays 2026

Easter Holidays

Why wait for a summer holiday when Easter's ready to rock and roll a few months earlier?! Swap your Easter bonnet for a sun hat and those chocolate eggs for some proper fried ones from the brekkie buffet (don't worry, there's still plenty of chocolate to go around). The best thing about being a woman...sorry, we mean going on holiday at Easter (muscle memory 🎤🎵 ) is the fact that the temperature's at that perfect in-between -  just mild enough to explore and top up your tan, but not so scorchin' that you'll spend the whole time drenched in sweat. Unless that's your thing obvs, because we've got 2026 holidays for that too...

Easter family holidays

Easter's the best out of all the half-terms, pass it on. We don't *technically* have scientific proof, but let's be real - you've got the spring temps which mean you don't have to travel in your big coat (and it makes that early wake-up call a smidge more bearable), all without the busy chaos of travelling in the peak of summer. Which, when you've got the kiddos in tow, is a massive win. We've got a ton of family holiday options to float your obnoxiously huge inflatable unicorn 🦄 Think hotels with waterparks, the best kids' clubs (which = more peace and quiet for you, you're welcome), and top-tier activities which means...well, probably a few family arguments. But no holiday's complete without that!

Adults-only Easter holidays

Thought Easter holidays were just for the kiddos? Think again. Whether you're travelling solo, with your partner or with your group of best girlfriends, there's still a cheeky spring getaway on the cards for you - and you don't have to waste time queueing for ice-cream with a bunch of 10-year olds, or covering your ears when that first note of Baby Shark plays. We're talking strictly adults-only holidays, where you can either party 'til morning, or *actually* kick back and relax. From Turkey to Thailand, Costa Brava to Cape Verde, there's an Easter jolly on the cards for you. Teachers looking for some peace and quiet during half-term...we see you.

💰 Cheap Easter Holidays

Easter's school holidays mean prices can creep up — everyone's had the same idea, and the best deals get snapped up fast. But a few smart moves will keep the spring in your step after you've paid the bill.

📅 Book early & travel in week one — Easter prices tend to climb the closer you get, so locking things in a few months before usually saves you a decent chunk. The first week of the break (before the bank holiday weekend) is typically cheaper than the second, and flying midweek instead of Saturday helps too — Tuesdays and Wednesdays are your best bet. With OTB, you can secure your spot with a £19pp deposit and spread the rest with FlexiPay, so you're not forking out the full whack in one go.

🍹 Go all-inclusive — it sounds counterintuitive as a budget tip, but locking in your food and drinks upfront means zero surprise bills. And some destinations offer five-star AI for a fraction of what you'd pay in the Med.

  • 🇪🇬 Egypt is the Easter bargain king. Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh serve up 28-30°C, waterpark hotels and all-inclusive deals that'll have your jaw on the floor. Pints for about £1.50, meals for a few quid, and the Red Sea on your doorstep for snorkelling.

  • 🇹🇷 Turkey is warming up nicely by April (20-22°C in Antalya) and the all-inclusive resorts — especially in Belek — are legendary value for families. Think waterparks, kids' clubs and unlimited ice cream without spending an extra lira.

  • 🇪🇸 The Canaries are the reliable choice — Tenerife and Lanzarote hit 22-24°C, flights are only four hours, and you're beating the summer rush on pricing. Great for families and couples alike.

🛡️ And don't sleep on our Price Drop Protection — if the price drops after you book, we'll refund you the difference. So you can book early without worrying you're missing out on a better deal.

Where's hot during Easter half term?

If you thought your only chance of getting a tan abroad was by jetting off during summer, then think again. There are loads of places where it's hot in April! Canary islands like Tenerife are toasty all year round, which means you can be super flexible with your travel dates and still have guaranteed beach weather. Places like Turkey and Egypt also start to hot up in spring (but with cooler nights for a sweat-free sleep), and Balearic islands like Majorca are at that perfect in-between temperature during spring - perfect for when you don't like it too muggy.

Easter Sunday falls on 5 April 2026. In Ireland, schools close on Friday 27 March and reopen on Monday 13 April. Good Friday (3 April) and Easter Monday (6 April) are bank holidays across the UK & Ireland, so you've got a four-day weekend built in even if you can't take the full fortnight off.

Can I get cheap holidays at Easter?

Heck yeah you can! The perk of travelling during Easter is that you can avoid the chaos of summer travel (not to mention the prices). It's a great time to get away with the kids outside of term time for a cheap family holiday, or just escape for some early sunshine if you're feeling a bit impatient waiting for the 'summer' at home. Which, let's be honest, is understandable given the track record... ⛈️

Which country is the best to visit in April?

That's a toughy. There are loads of places that make for a great April holiday. The Canary islands have the year-round sunny vibes, while the Balearics have that beach thing going on, and Turkey's just starting to up its scorchio levels. Can we have all three?

Where's hot during Easter half term?

For guaranteed sunshine at Easter, you've got some brilliant options without going long-haul. The Canary Islands are the safe bet — Tenerife, Lanzarote and Gran Canaria all sit around 22-24°C in April, with just a four-hour flight. Egypt is warmer still, with Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada hitting 28-30°C and offering some of the best-value all-inclusive going. And if the Med's calling, Cyprus, Crete and Malta are all hitting the mid-to-high teens with plenty of sunshine. For the full rundown, check out our guide to where it's hot in April.

How far in advance should I book Easter holidays?

As far ahead as you can, honestly. Easter is peak school holiday time, and the most popular hotels and flight slots get booked up months in advance. Ideally, you'd want to be looking around November to January for the best choice and prices. That said, if you've missed the early-bird window, keep an eye on our last-minute holidays — deals do pop up as it gets closer, especially if you're flexible on destination. With OTB, you can lock in your booking early with a £19pp deposit and pay the rest later, so there's no real downside to getting in early.
