When you book a package holiday through On the Beach, the money for your hotel and transfer is stored in an independent trust account. This account is governed by strict rules, and we are not allowed to access those monies until you have returned from your holiday. This means that unlike the majority of our competitors, we do not spend that money running our business, so if something does goes wrong with your booking and we need to refund your money, we can do so a lot more easily. The cost of your flight goes straight to the airline, and is not kept in the account, however keeping these funds separate means we can act a lot quicker and with more flexibility, in case we need to. All of this means that when you book a holiday with us, you can book with confidence, knowing that your money is secured.
In addition to our trust account, customers get the security of knowing that all flight-inclusive package holidays on our website are financially protected by the ATOL scheme. This means that in the very unlikely event that something happens to us or one of our travel suppliers, you have comfort that you will be able to get home safely and won’t be stranded abroad and if you were yet to go on holiday, you’ll get a full refund. Every part of your flight-inclusive package holiday is financially protected by the ATOL scheme.
On the Beach Limited is an Accredited Body Member of On the Beach Travel Limited - ATOL number 11549.
Please note that ATOL protection does not apply to all travel services listed. Our website will provide you with information on the protection that applies in the case of each holiday and travel service offered before you make your booking. If you do not receive an ATOL certificate then the booking will not be ATOL protected. If you do receive an ATOL certificate but all of the parts of your trip are not listed on it, those parts will not be ATOL protected.
Note that ATOL protection only applies if your package holiday includes a flight. If you book a package holiday with us that does not include a flight, all monies paid to us in relation to that holiday will be fully protected by insurance in the event of our insolvency. This insurance protection has been arranged by International Passenger Protection Limited.

No, On the Beach is an entirely separate company to Thomas Cook. Whilst we did sell Thomas Cook flights on our website, we aren't - and never have been - a part of the Thomas Cook Group.
