Turkey holidays 2025 / 2026 - best beaches
The best things in life are free, including beaches. And you don't even need to stress about the time of year, these beaches are bangin' on a winter sun holiday, a Summer holiday or an Easter holiday, just pick your dates and get ready to jet off. Check out our faves in Turkey (Türkiye):
Olu Deniz Beach - a sweeping beach that meets the famous Blue Lagoon - the perfect Insta-worthy spot for a cheeky swim
Cleopatra Beach - named after the Egyptian queen herself after she reportedly swam here. Picture toasty golden sands and water that looks straight out of a bottle.
Bitez Beach – just outside of Bodrum, this one’s made for chilled-out beach days with a cocktail in hand. It’s got sunloungers, shade, and a laid-back vibe that makes it ideal for couples and groups alike.
Iztuzu Beach - one for the turtle-lovers, because this is their roaming ground! Come for a nosy and sprawl out on over two and a half miles of sand, perfect for a family jolly with the kids.
Lara Beach - a Blue Flag-awarded sunbathers' heaven with loungers, parasols and beach bars galore.
Patara Beach - size isn't *everything*, but this is Turkey's longest beach, so check it out and then make your mind up. Nothing says 'couples' holiday' like a long beachy stroll.
Ladies Beach (Kadınlar Denizi) – don’t let the name fool you – everyone’s welcome! This Kusadasi hotspot is family-friendly, lively, and lined with cafes and beach bars. A great pick if you like your sun with a side of buzz.
Kaputas Beach - a cute hidden cove between Kas and Kalkan - great for those beach selfies.
Butterfly Valley Beach - with a name as adorable as that, how can you go wrong? This place is proper top-secret - you can only reach it by boat, but it's worth it for the views and the 100s of species of butterflies fluttering about (hence the name).
Where is the best area to stay on your holidays to Turkey?
Türkiye is huge. Deciding where to go can be a bit of a tricky one, but we've got all the goss below on where to touch down - from all-inclusives to boutique hotels. And don't worry, we've even thrown in some totally last-minute ideas and some budget-friendly options if you're on the hunt for a cheap holiday to Turkey (Türkiye).
Family holidays - for top-tier, kiddo-approved action, it's gotta be an all-inclusive holiday to Antalya. You'll have more kids' clubs, waterparks and chicken nuggets than you'll know what to do with. Belek's another great option, along with Dalaman if you've got the older kids in tow.
Squad goals - if you're looking to party with your pals on a great group holiday, then Bodrum and Marmaris are where it's at. You'll have a ton of bars and clubs to pick from, so bring your dancing shoes. (That's what the kids do, right?)
Coupling up - Olu Deniz is the perfect spot for you and boo. Think activities to get competitive over, sandy beaches to stroll along, and - most importantly - loads of restaurants to wine and dine yourselves stupid at. Cheers to that.
Good to know
🤩 Fun fact: The Turks love tea, and we can't blame 'em. Bring on the brews!
🏖️ Best beach: Olu Deniz Beach, in our humble opinion. It's got sand, it's got views, and it's got paragliding. What more could you want?!
🍺 Price of a pint: Between 10 and 15 Turkish Lira (that's between 25 and 50p!)
💸 Are Turkey holidays budget-friendly?
Short answer? Yep. Slightly longer answer? Absolutely - especially if you like sunshine, sea views and still having change left over for a kebab. Whether you're going all-out all-inclusive or mixing it up with market eats and beach strolls, Turkey is one of the best bang-for-your-baklava destinations out there primed and ready to dish up cheap holidays that suit every kind of traveller.
Shopping in Turkey – How far will your Lira go? - If you love a bargain hunt with a side of drama, Turkey’s bazaars are your happy place. Think hand-painted ceramics, spices that smell like magic, leather bags, and gold jewellery that’ll make you feel like royalty – all for a fraction of what you'd pay back home.
Grand Bazaar, Istanbul – 4,000+ stalls and haggling heaven. Practice your poker face.
Fethiye Market – Great for fresh fruit, fake designer bags, and a bit of banter.
Price point? You can grab souvenirs for £1–£10, and spices or snacks for even less.
Top tip: Haggling’s basically a sport here, so bring your A-game and don’t be shy.
If you're looking for more free things to do for totally cheap holidays to Turkey, then we've got a few more suggestions up our sleeve. Saving money doesn’t mean missing out. Turkey’s got loads of experiences that cost nowt – or next to it.
Beach days – We've already got you covered with this one, peep our suggestions back at the top of the page.
Wander the old towns – Bodrum, Kaleici (Antalya), and Istanbul’s Sultanahmet are total vibe central and totally free to explore.
Visit ancient ruins – Sites like Patara and Termessos charge as little as £2–£5 entry. That’s less than a UK latte (sickening for home, outstanding for your jolly).
Sunset at Pamukkale or Cappadocia – Free show, guaranteed goosebumps. 'Nuff said.

Getting around
🚌 Buses
If you're looking to explore, then buses will be your best friend in Turkey (Türkiye). Every town has a bus terminal within reach, and the fares are actually pretty affordable! This is the most common way for locals to get about too, so you know it's a winner. Most even have phone charging ports, air con and reclining seats. Proper boujee! There are loads of bus companies to choose from, and they all sell their tickets at the bus stations. You can usually buy on the day no problem, but for popular routes you might want to reserve seats in advance to be safe. You can ask at your hotel for help with doing this.
🚐 Dolmuş (minibuses)
A dolmuş is basically Turkey’s answer to Uber Pool, but with way more personality. This is a popular service in Turkey (Türkiye), with cheap fares and a laidback 'hop-on-hop-off' nature. This is particularly handy for those small, harder-to-reach towns you might want to visit, where the mainstream bus routes don't go. These minibuses usually run from the major stations, so you can hop off a regular bus and onto one of these guys to get to where you need to go. Easy!
🚆 Trains
Trains aren't the most common mode of transport in Turkey (Türkiye), but Turkish State Railways are still pretty well-developed, and only getting better. This is ideal if you prefer a more scenic route or if you're planning a longer journey. One of the most popular routes is the high-speed line which connects Istanbul, Eskişehir and Ankara. For more standard routes, you don't typically need to buy tickets in advance and can just buy one at the station before you're due to leave.
Holidays to Turkey 2025 / 2026 - Our favourite hotels

Eftalia Splash Resort - pirates, waterslides and kids' clubs - what more could you want?! The kiddos will be happy, which means you will be too when you don't have to deal with temper tantrums.
Club Turan Prince World - this place is like stepping into a holiday comic book – bold, bright, and ready to rescue you from boredom. It's a treat for the whole fam.
Vikingen Infinity Resort - with infinity pools that make you feel like you're swimming off into the sunset, a private beach and a ton of sea-view rooms, this one's for the water babies.
Xoria Deluxe Resort - deluxe by name, deluxe by nature. It's like they took all the good bits of holidays and rolled them into one - from a whopper of a pool to the most chilled spa ever.
Titanic Beach Lara - all of the cruise vibes, none of the sea sickness. It's like staying on a luxury ship that never leaves the port, with loads of pools and enough restaurants to keep meal times exciting.

Your Turkey holidays 2025 / 2026 travel guide
For Families 👨👩👧👦
Turkey’s a total crowd-pleaser when it comes to family fun, and nowhere shows that off better than Antalya’s splash-happy waterparks. The Land of Legends is the big one – think slides, wave pools, and all-day excitement, followed by some good old-fashioned sandcastle building on the beach. If your gang fancies something a bit more cultural, Ephesus is an ancient wonderland with wide open spaces, marble streets and epic ruins where little imaginations can run wild. Gladiator theatre reenactment, anyone?
For Couples 💑
Looking to turn up the romance? Istanbul’s rooftop restaurants are perfect for date night with a view, especially places like Mikla and 360 Istanbul where gourmet dishes meet glittering Bosphorus backdrops. Once you’ve wined and dined, treat yourselves to a proper Turkish hammam experience – steam, scrub and massage included. For some serious R&R with your other half, places like Çemberlitaş and Hurrem Sultan Hammam will do just the trick.
For Groups 👯
Turkey’s buzzing with group-friendly good times, especially in Bodrum, where rooftop bars, beach clubs and legendary spots like Halikarnas set the scene for nights to remember (and possibly forget). If you’re feeling more chill than club, Pamukkale’s dreamy white terraces and warm thermal pools offer the perfect backdrop for a relaxing group dip. Or, for something wilder, jump in a Jeep and head off-road through the Taurus Mountains – you’ll get breathtaking views, local villages, and maybe even a cheeky swim in a mountain river.
For Foodies 🍲
If you eat with your stomach, not your eyes, you’re in the right place. Start at Istanbul’s Spice Bazaar, where the air smells like cinnamon and cloves, and every stall is packed with colour and flavour. Fancy taking things a step further? Sign up for a local cooking class and learn how to make your own kebabs, baklava and meze – most even include a tour of the market to pick your own ingredients. And when the sun sets, make your way to Bodrum’s waterfront where seafood feasts and dreamy Aegean views go hand in hand. Mimoza and Orfoz are top picks, and yep, the sunsets really do look like postcards.

Summer in Türkiye? It’s like living inside a pizza oven – we're talking 30-40°C! Perfect for beach-lovers who can handle the sizzle and don't mind making a few hundred new mates on the sand.
Spring and autumn are the chilled cousins of summer – think 20s °C and just-right vibes. Ideal for wandering through ancient ruins or slurping local vino under a starry sky, minus the sweat sesh.
Winter? It's when Türkiye's as its most chill. Coastal spots stay mild, but inland gets a bit nippy – which means cosy jumper time! Not for the beach crowd, but culture buffs will be in their element.
So, when to visit? Spring and autumn are the sweet spots for sure, but honestly? Turkey's always a bangin' holiday destination in our books, and it's still gonna be a lot less icy than back home. Read more about Turkey weather.

What are the cultural customs like in Turkey (Türkiye)?
What are the cultural customs like in Turkey (Türkiye)?
Turkey (Türkiye) is predominantly an Islamic country, which means there are some religious customs to look out for. If you're keen to check out any places of worship (there are some beaut ones, so you'll probably want to), then it's respectful to make sure you're dressed modestly (save the beachwear for the beach!) - even if you're just stopping by for a nosy, and not to worship yourself. It's also customary to take off your shoes before entering a mosque.
Turkey (Türkiye) also observes Ramadan - a fasting holiday - every year during the 9th month of the Islamic calendar. This year, Ramadan will take place from 19th February to 19th March 2026. Don't worry, though - it won't affect how many rounds you can go at the all-inclusive buffet, or your holiday at all for that matter. You might just notice locals observing these traditions.
