It takes a lot for a 2* or 3* hotel to get an average rating of 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor, so we couldn’t pass up this opportunity to feature the fantastic Ipanema Park Apartments in Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria, as our hotel of the week, and offer you 7 nights there from only £203pp – including return flights!
Most apartments have a gorgeous view (if you happen to be unhappy with yours, asking for a different apartment won’t usually be a problem unless the hotel is fully booked up). They’re basic, with limited cooking appliances (2 hobs), but very clean and comfortable with regular maid service and towel/linen change.
The atmosphere around the pool is absolutely great. Guests are encouraged but by no means hassled to get involved in activities, so it’s fun but really relaxed and perfect for kids. There are plenty of sunbeds and parasols, and the pool bar is conveniently open until 11pm.
You can walk to beach/port in less than 10 minutes, and the centre of town is a lovely 15-20 minute stroll away (or 4 Euro in a cab). Walking means you can stop at the mini golf course halfway and have a little fun!
