⛰️ Day trip to Monchique - the mountain town of Monchique sits in the hills behind Portimao and makes for a brilliant day out. Cooler temperatures, eucalyptus forests, panoramic views from the Foia summit (the Algarve's highest point), and rustic restaurants serving piri-piri chicken cooked over charcoal. About 30 minutes' drive.
