Cala Gració is the Ibiza shortcut for people who want it all. A quiet sandy cove with clear calm water and pine trees to the shoreline, a 15-minute walk from the noise of San Antonio, close enough that the Sunset Strip, Café Mambo and Hostal La Torre are an easy stroll, but far enough that the cove itself stays relaxed during the day. It's the Ibiza for people who love the island's party reputation but want somewhere genuinely peaceful to come back to.
✨ Highlights of your Holidays to Cala Gració
🏖️ Twin coves on the doorstep. Cala Gració is the main sandy cove, a sheltered U-shape with shallow calm water perfect for swimming. Cala Gracioneta, the smaller sister cove just round the headland, has one of Ibiza's prettiest beach-club restaurants sat right on the sand.
🌅 The Sunset Strip walkable from your hotel. San Antonio's famous Sunset Strip (Café Mambo, Café del Mar, Mint Lounge) is a 15 to 20-minute coastal walk south, and Hostal La Torre's legendary sunset terrace is even closer.
🌲 Pine trees, not high-rises. Cala Gració kept its low-rise character, hotels tucked into the pines rather than piled up on concrete. The setting stays properly Mediterranean rather than resort-strip.
🦈 Aquarium Cap Blanc in a sea cave. The quirky aquarium north of the cove is set inside a natural sea cave, with native Ibicenco marine life and rock pools. Easy half-hour visit that's a genuine novelty.
🌊 Calm water, easy snorkelling. The rocky edges of both coves are home to shoals of sea bream and wrasse, and the shallow sheltered water makes this one of the best beginner snorkelling spots on the island.
💡 Good to Know
☀️ Balearic summer climate: 13 to 16°C in winter, 28 to 30°C+ in peak summer (July/August), with warm evenings well into October.
💶 The Euro is standard across Ibiza. A coffee is around £2, a pint £4 to £6, a sit-down dinner £20 to £35 a head. The big clubs run separate prices (expect £50 to £80 for a club entry, drinks on top).
🗣️ Catalan (Ibicenco dialect) is the everyday local language, Castilian Spanish is universal, and English is spoken at every hotel, bar and restaurant that matters to a visitor.
🏨 Hotels
Cala Gració keeps its hotel scene deliberately small, a handful of properties around the two coves, ranging from a flagship five-star to a legendary sunset hostal. See all our Cala Gració hotels here, and if you want to cast the net wider across the island you can check our all-inclusive Ibiza options if unlimited Balearic cocktails by the pool sounds like the dream.
TRS Ibiza Hotel - Adults Only. The headline adults-only stay: five-star Palladium flagship with direct beach access to Cala Gració and Cala Gracioneta, three pools, Zentropia Spa, and butler service at the Signature Level. Infinite Indulgence all-inclusive package gets you out to top restaurants across the island, plus VIP access to Ushuaïa and Hï Ibiza for proper club nights.
Oku Ibiza. The design-focused five-star on the headland above Cala Gracioneta, all natural textures, open spaces and Mediterranean minimalism. Two restaurants (one Asian fusion, one Med), poolside pour-overs at the bar, a dedicated concierge for island excursions and the kind of adults-skewed stylish crowd that's all over the place in Ibiza these days.
Marble Stella Maris Ibiza. The family all-inclusive: four-star on a hillside in six hectares of gardens, multiple outdoor pools, kids' club, and the Marble Beach Club for the grown-ups. Free buggy service around the resort grounds, which matters given the hill. The sensible family pick with Sunset Strip access for the parents' night off.
Hostal La Torre. Ibiza's most famous sunset terrace, with rooms attached. Rustic boutique hostal on a rocky headland 3.5km from San Antonio, simple tastefully done rooms around a garden, and the cocktail-and-sunset sessions on the terrace are the whole point. For couples and Ibiza romantics who want the iconic view every night of the week.
El Coto. Self-catering studios and apartments 300m from Cala Gració beach, set on the edge of the forest with a shared pool. The budget-friendly pick for longer stays, couples who want a kitchenette, or small groups who want to cook in and save the spend for club nights.

🏖️ Best Beaches
🏖️ Cala Gració is the main resort beach: a sheltered U-shaped cove of soft sand with shallow calm water, backed by pine trees and low-rise hotels. Rocky headlands either side give natural protection from swell. Beach bar, showers, sun-lounger hire.
🌺 Cala Gracioneta is the tiny sister cove just round the headland, reached by a short path: a crescent of white sand with exceptionally clear turquoise water and the famous El Chiringuito restaurant sat right on the beach. Smaller, quieter, beloved by couples.
🌅 Caló des Moro is more a sunset spot than a swimming beach: a small wooden deck and sandy patch along the San Antonio coastal path, famous for evening sessions with chilled tunes. Walk here from your hotel for the sundown ritual.
🌿 Cala Salada is a 10-minute drive or taxi north, a dramatic cove backed by ochre cliffs with emerald-green water, one of Ibiza's most photographed beaches. Smaller Cala Saladeta is a 5-minute scramble over the rocks and has the clearest water of the two. Go early in summer.
🏝️ Cala Bassa is a short boat-taxi ride from San Antonio harbour, a proper sandy bay in pine forest with one of the island's best beach clubs (Cala Bassa Beach Club) for a proper lunch-and-cocktails day.
🌊 Cala Conta (Platges de Comte) is a 15-minute drive south, multiple sandy patches separated by rocks, famous for the view across to Es Vedrà at sunset. Book a dinner at Sunset Ashram if you can.
🛏️ Where to Stay
Cala Gració is small enough that it's really one choice: stay near the two coves and walk to San Antonio for nights out. The hotels are mostly clustered along the headland between Cala Gracioneta and Cala Gració itself, with walking paths connecting them to each other and into San Antonio town.
👨👩👧👦 Families
Families are best served by Marble Stella Maris Ibiza in the Cala Gracio area, which ticks the family boxes with kids' clubs, multiple pools and an all-inclusive option. The hillside setting means a buggy ride is part of the deal (the hotel runs a free service), which some families love and others find a bit of a faff. For more direct-to-beach family options, San Antonio Bay round the corner has a wider family-hotel scene with places like Occidental Ibiza all on easier flat ground.
💑 Couples
Couples get the best pickings here. TRS Ibiza Hotel is the adults-only luxury play, Oku Ibiza is the design-focused stylish alternative, and Hostal La Torre is the boutique romantic option if you'd rather trade a pool for the best sunset terrace on the island. All three put the Sunset Strip within walking distance.
🎉 Groups
Groups benefit from the adults-only properties (TRS Ibiza and Oku Ibiza) which avoid the family-resort vibe, plus El Coto's self-catering setup for bigger crews who want to cook in between club nights. If group nightlife is the main brief, San Antonio proper has the Ibiza Rocks scene and more large-party-friendly hotels on the strip itself.
🗣️ Local Lingo
Catalan (specifically the Ibicenco dialect) is the everyday local language, Castilian Spanish is universal, and English is spoken at every hotel, bar and restaurant that matters. That said, a go at the local tongue at a proper local restaurant in San Antonio old town will get a much warmer reception than "dos cervezas". A handful of phrases to get you started:
Bon dia (Catalan), Good morning
Hola, Hi (works in both)
Una canya, si us plau (Catalan), A small beer please (the locals' order)
El compte, si us plau (Catalan), The bill, please
Quina posta de sol!, What a sunset! (the right thing to say at Hostal La Torre)

👨👩👧👦 Families
🏖️ Base around Cala Gració beach itself. The sheltered U-shape and shallow water are genuinely kid-friendly, and the walk from the hotels is short and mostly flat.
🐟 Take the kids to Aquarium Cap Blanc. The sea-cave aquarium is a novelty kids don't see anywhere else, and it's an easy walk or short taxi from most hotels.
🚤 Boat taxi round the coast. The little boats shuttling between San Antonio beaches are an adventure in themselves, plus easy access to quieter coves like Cala Bassa for a change of scene.
🌅 Pre-dinner sunset walk. Head along the coastal path towards Hostal La Torre in time for sunset, the earlier evening crowd is family-friendly and the view is as good as anywhere on the island.
💑 Couples
🍷 Dinner at El Chiringuito. The beach club restaurant on Cala Gracioneta is the classic Ibiza lunch-into-afternoon, book a table for around 2pm and don't plan much for the rest of the day.
🌅 Sunset at Hostal La Torre. Even if you're not staying there, it's the iconic Ibiza sunset experience, chilled DJ, well-made cocktails, the sun dropping into the Med. Book a table to avoid queuing.
🎶 One night on the Sunset Strip. Café Mambo, Café del Mar and the Mint Lounge are all 15 to 20 minutes' walk. Even if you're not clubbers, the pre-club atmosphere from 8-10pm is properly Ibiza.
🛶 Paddleboard Cala Salada. Rent a board and paddle the short hop to the quieter Cala Saladeta next door, swim stop, back in time for evening drinks.
🎉 Groups
🎶 Big night out in San Antonio. Eden, Es Paradis, and Ibiza Rocks pool parties are all either a walk or a £10 taxi away. The disco bus runs between the main clubs in peak summer.
⛵ Group boat party. Oceanbeat and Pukka Up depart from San Antonio harbour with unlimited drinks, DJs and day-drinking on the Med. The Ibiza group rite of passage.
🥂 Long sunset session. Grab a big table at Hostal La Torre early, order cocktails, settle in. One of those evenings that ends up being the highlight of the week.
🏝️ Formentera day trip. The 30-minute fast ferry from San Antonio (or from Ibiza Town) lands you on some of the clearest water in the Med. Hire electric bikes or a jeep for the day.

During the peak summer months of July and August, Cala Gracio is a sun-worshipper's paradise with temperatures consistently hitting the high 30s. The humidity can be high, making the turquoise water essential for cooling off, and the evenings remain balmy enough for t-shirts and shorts well into the night.
If you prefer things a little less intense, the shoulder seasons of May and October are absolutely stunning. You will typically find temperatures sitting in the mid-20s, which is warm enough for a tan but cool enough to explore the local towns. Winter is mild but can be a bit wetter, though you will still see plenty of sunshine compared to back home.

FAQs
How do I get to Cala Gració?
How do I get to Cala Gració?
Fly into Ibiza Airport (IBZ), the island's only airport, about 22km from Cala Gració (a 25 to 30-minute drive). The road out of the airport runs up the west side of the island and drops you at Cala Gració via San Antonio. Add a transfer to your booking with us and someone will meet you at arrivals, worth it after a late flight.
Is Cala Gració suitable for families?
Is Cala Gració suitable for families?
Yes, with the caveat that it's not a big waterpark-and-kids'-club resort. The cove itself is excellent for families (sheltered, shallow, sandy), Marble Stella Maris Ibiza is the family-friendly hotel in the area with kids' clubs and all-inclusive, and the surrounding beaches and the Aquarium Cap Blanc are genuinely good for kids. What you don't get is the mega-resort energy, which is San Antonio Bay territory. For Ibiza's bigger family beach scene, Cala Llonga on the east coast is worth considering.
What's the nightlife like in Cala Gració itself?
What's the nightlife like in Cala Gració itself?
Quiet, deliberately. A couple of beach bars, a handful of hotel terraces and the iconic Hostal La Torre sunset sessions. For anything bigger, you walk into San Antonio (15 to 20 minutes) or grab a taxi. That separation is the whole point of the resort, daytime peace and night-time energy, rather than having one overlapping with the other.
Can I visit the famous Sunset Strip from here?
Can I visit the famous Sunset Strip from here?
Easily. Café Mambo, Café del Mar, Mint Lounge and Savannah are all 15 to 20 minutes' walk along the coastal path from Cala Gració. Head out around 7pm in summer to grab a good spot, stay for the sunset DJs, then either walk back or move on into San Antonio town for late-night clubs like Eden, Es Paradis and O Beach. In winter most of the strip closes, so this is very much a peak-season experience.
What's the food scene like?
What's the food scene like?
Better than the small-cove setting suggests. El Chiringuito on Cala Gracioneta is the headline beach-club-restaurant, a proper long-lunch destination with fresh fish, prawns and rosé, expect to spend £35 to £50 a head. Hostal La Torre does sunset-terrace food with good cocktails and sharing plates. For more variety, the restaurants along San Antonio harbour cover everything from traditional Spanish tapas to proper Mediterranean fine dining. Ibiza dishes to look out for: sofrit pagès (Ibicenco meat stew), bullit de peix (fisherman's fish stew) and flaó (mint-flavoured cheesecake).
What's the weather like?
What's the weather like?
Classic Balearic climate with a longer summer than mainland Spain. Spring sits around 18 to 22°C, the island waking up with wildflowers and the sea starting to warm by late May. Summer runs 28 to 30°C+ in July and August, the beaches and coves at full tilt, the Sunset Strip going off every night, peak Ibiza energy. Autumn is a warm 22 to 26°C through September and early October, the sea still bathwater-warm, the closing parties at the clubs bringing one last peak before the island quiets down. Winter is 13 to 16°C, mostly mild and bright, most hotels and the club scene closed, but great for walking the coastal paths and seeing the authentic Ibicenco side of the island.
