I need a place to stay just for a night whilst getting ready to move into my own apartment here in Puerto Rico. I had stayed at the Blue Star a couple of times before, and had no issues however the room I was provided 605 was way beyond anything a handyman could fix. The apartment was spotlessly clean, however every single fitting or piece of furniture was either broken or worn out ! The kitchen cupboards had every door either hanging off or wonky the bathroom had the strangest flush system on the toilet I had ever seen. All in all it was a good job that I was there for only one night and at £6 a night I can see why they are not investing in the rooms anymore.

Well ive been back to this place again and cannot fault it - £200 for 10 days! The apartments are clean and basic -staff always very friendly and helpful. The shop wasn't open when we went but that wasn't a problem as theres lots of shops near by. This is a great little place for a nice break and on a low budget - def be back again, and probably again as im a creature of comfort!

my first stay at blue star had heard bad reviews so wasnt expecting much as most people called it the last resort hotel.i was in what i would call a good placed room 628 2 floors from pool and 3 floors from reception.no problems with the lift it looked like was a lot of renovation work to the structure but be better spent revamping the room even though it was spotless and cleaned and new towels every other day.no problems with hot water for shower could cook okay on twin hot plate fridge worked ok had a kettle but no toaster or microwave the complex was spotless pool bar was spotless bit expensive 3 euros and in plastic containers ashtray was a plastic cup with water in had food a few times and was ok and reasonably priced shop was hrdly stocked so better to go to the new spar in europa centre 5 mins walk also exchange rate was very poor only 1.27 +2% charge better exchange free from eden apartment or gift shop opposite barbacoa which was 1.35 location is superb for all day sun all rooms seaviews too i paid £36 per night which drops down to around £21 in april if you really just want a base camp would reccommend it for price no entertainment and pool bar closed at 8pm they have 3 happy hours 11-12 1-2 and 7-8 usual 2 for 1 on local drinks and beer
The Mediterranean climate means long, hot summers, and mild winters that make Pineda de Mar holidays extremely attractive any time of year. Average temperature fluctuates around 17° Celsius, making Pineda a pleasant destination for a holiday in Spain any time of year. In July and August , the thermometer can nudge past 30° Celsius, while even in winter the temperature rarely drops below five; frost and snow are almost unheard of. The protection of the coastal mountain range stops the place from becoming too windswept.
