Weather in Dubai
Dubai’s weather is the stuff of legend - think year-round sunshine, sky-high temperatures, and barely a raincloud in sight. Whether you’re craving that scorchio desert heat or looking for the best time to enjoy a chilled-out beach day without melting, Dubai’s climate has its own unique rhythm. From toasty winter sun to full-blown summer sizzlers, knowing what to expect can make all the difference when planning your jollies.
How hot is the Dubai weather?
Dubai is a sun-worshipper’s dream, with temperatures soaring past 40°C in summer, meaning air-con is gonna be your new bestie, and settling into a balmy 20-30°C range during winter, so you can enjoy some toasty temps while it's cold, dark, and wet back home. Whether you're after a toasty beach day or a warm winter escape, the city serves up heat in every season.

Is the weather in Dubai rainy?
Rain in Dubai is about as rare as a quiet day in the souks, but it does make a surprise appearance now and then. The city sees the odd drizzle between November and March, but don’t expect anything more than a fleeting shower, like when you need to decide if to put the washing out or not, that kinda fleeting shower. But it's never long before the sun takes centre stage again!

Dubai Weather by Season
Spring (March–May) – Warm & Blissful
Spring in Dubai is the sweet spot - warm but not melting, with temperatures hovering between 25-35°C. It’s perfect for pool days, dune bashing, and rooftop sundowners without breaking too much of a sweat. By May, things start cranking up, so be ready for some serious heat.
Best for: Desert adventures, beach lounging, and alfresco dining.
Top tip: Evenings are still warm, but pack a light layer if you're heading into air-conditioned malls or restaurants - Dubai loves a blast of AC.
Summer (June–August) – Mega Hot & Made for Air-Con
Summer holidays in Dubai are no joke - expect scorching 40°C+ days and warm nights. The city is built for the heat, though, with world-class indoor attractions, ice-cold shopping malls, and rooftop pools that let you enjoy the skyline without melting. Outdoor activities? Best saved for after dark.
Best for: Luxury hotel deals, indoor theme parks, and moonlit desert safaris.
Top tip: SPF is your best mate, and so is air-con - book a hotel with a cool pool and plan your outings early morning or late evening.
Autumn (September–November) – Beach Days & Blue Skies
Autumn in Dubai feels like an extended summer but with slightly more manageable temperatures, ranging from 28-33°C. The sea is at its warmest, and it’s the ideal time for beach days, boat trips, and strolling along JBR without sizzling.
Best for: Yacht cruises, water sports, and sunset dining.
Top tip: The humidity can still be high in September - October onwards is prime time for outdoor adventures.
Winter (December–February) – Peak Holiday Mode
Dubai’s winter is the ultimate sun-soaked escape, with daytime temps sitting at a dreamy 20-28°C. While it's grey skies and snow storms back home, you’ll be sipping cocktails by the pool or hitting the desert for a proper good adventure. Evenings can be cooler, but it’s still t-shirt weather for most.
Best for: Beach days, alfresco brunches, and desert safaris.
Top tip: Dubai’s winter is its busiest season - book your jollies early to bag the best deals.
