Two kilometres of award-winning beach, beachfront walks with pine trees for shade, and Budva's medieval city and happening nightlife just a 20-minute stroll away. Becici is the perfect spot if you want to enjoy tranquil beach bliss on the outskirts of the bustle.
Highlights of your holidays to Becici 2026 / 2027
The beach – Two kilometres of fine pebble and sand with water so clear you can see your feet in waist-deep. The shelf is gentle enough for toddlers, there's enough space that even August doesn't feel like rush hour, and the beach bars deliver cold drinks to your lounger. You'll quickly see why it's been popular for 100 years.
Pine forest promenade – Shaded walking paths behind the beach connect Becici to Budva along the coast. The kind of walk where you set off for ten minutes and end up doing the full thing because the views keep beckoning you onward.
Sveti Stefan viewpoint – The coastal path south from Becici leads past hidden coves to the viewpoint overlooking Sveti Stefan, the tiny fortified island that looks like it was built for a film set.
West-facing sunsets – Becici's beach faces the open Adriatic to the west, which means every single evening finishes with the sun dropping into the sea while you're still on the sand. The beach bars know this, the wine list is ready, and nobody's in a rush to go anywhere.
Good to Know
☀️ Weather – Summers run 28-32°C with long sunny days and sea temperatures around 23-25°C from June to September. The pine forest behind the beach gives you natural shade when the midday sun gets serious.
💶 Money – A waterfront lunch runs €10-€16, a beer is €2-€3, a coffee is €1-€1.50. Noticeably cheaper than Croatia next door for basically the same coastline.
🏆 Fun Fact – The 1935 Grand Prix for most beautiful beach in Europe was a real competition, judged in Paris. Becici won, and the locals have never let anyone forget it.
Where to Stay
Becici is compact. The beach, the promenade and the hotels are all within walking distance of each other, so "where to stay" is less about area and more about which hotel suits you.
💑 Couples
The Eurostars Queen Montenegro end of Becici (eastern side) is quieter, with the wellness centre and panoramic terrace doing the heavy lifting for couples who want to alternate between beach days and spa days.
👨👩👧👦 Families
Central Becici beachfront is where the family hotels cluster. The Iberostar Waves Bellevue has direct beach access, four pools and a proper kids' club (Star Camp). The Montenegro Beach Resort and Hotel Tara are also here.
🎉 Groups
Western Becici, closest to Budva, puts you within walking distance of the old town's bars, restaurants and the Top Hill nightclub. Beach by day, Budva by night, taxi home at midnight.

Iberostar Waves Bellevue. The headline hotel. Beaches
Becici is essentially one long beach with different personalities along its length.
Becici main beach – The 2km Grand Prix winner. Fine pebble and sand, crystal-clear water with a gentle slope (brilliant for small children), sun loungers and parasols for hire, beach bars at regular intervals. Free access if you bring your own towel and skip the loungers.
Zavala Peninsula – The rocky headland at the eastern end of the beach, with swimming platforms, clearer water and a more grown-up atmosphere. A tunnel connects it to the main beach.
Hidden coves towards Sveti Stefan – Follow the coastal path south and you'll find small rocky swimming spots tucked below the cliffs. No facilities, just you and the Adriatic.
Local Lingo
Montenegrin is the main language. English is widely spoken in the hotels and restaurants along the promenade but locals will always appreciate you making the effort. Some of the words are similar to Croatian (not surprising as the two countries share the same coast).
Zdravo, ZDRAH-voh, Hello
Hvala, HVAH-lah, Thank you
Molim, MOH-leem, Please / You're welcome
Racun, RAH-choon, The bill

Travel Guide - Things to do on your Holidays in Becici 2026 / 2027
👨👩👧👦 Families
Beach day on the main stretch – The gentle slope into the water makes this one of the safest family swimming beaches in Montenegro. Hire a sun lounger and parasol, order lunch from the beach bar, and stay until the ice cream runs out.
Aqua Park Mediteran – A water park in the hills above Becici with slides and pools. A good change of scene when the beach needs a day off.
Coastal walk to Budva – The flat promenade to Budva is pushchair-friendly, takes about 20 minutes, and has cafés and ice cream stops along the way. Explore Budva's old town, then walk back for dinner.
💑 Couples
Coastal path to Sveti Stefan – One of the most photogenic walks in Montenegro. The path follows the cliffs south past hidden coves to the viewpoint above Sveti Stefan island. Bring your camera and a bottle of water.
Sunset on the beach – Becici faces west. The sun drops behind the headland and the beach bars switch from water to wine. Find a lounger, order a glass of local vranac, and let the evening happen.
Spa day at the Eurostars – The 1,500m² wellness centre is open to guests: hammam, saunas, tropical showers, thermal loungers and massage treatments. A rainy-day Plan B that's arguably better than Plan A.
🎉 Groups
Beach sports – Jet skiing, banana boats, paddleboarding and parasailing are all available from operators on the main beach. Enough options to keep a group arguing about what to do next for an entire morning.
Budva nightlife – A 20-minute walk along the promenade to Budva's old town bars, then a taxi up to Top Hill, the open-air nightclub perched above the coast. Montenegro's best night out.
Boat trip to St Nikola island – Taxi boats run from Budva harbour to the pine-covered island opposite the old town. A beach, a restaurant, and just enough space to spread out.
More Destinations
Montenegro – Medieval walled cities, fjord-like bays, Adriatic beaches, and the kind of value that makes your euros feel twice as powerful.
Budva – Montenegro's liveliest resort: a medieval old town, 11km of beaches, Top Hill nightclub, and the widest hotel choice on the coast. The party capital of the Riviera.
Kotor – A UNESCO walled city at the head of Europe's southernmost fjord. 1,350 steps to the fortress, dramatic mountain backdrops, and an old town that feels like walking through a history book.
Herceg Novi – Three fortresses, a 7km seaside promenade, Blue Cave boat trips, and an 11th-century monastery with a winery next door. The Bay of Kotor's underrated gem.
Tivat – Porto Montenegro's superyacht marina, good restaurants, and the closest resort to the airport. A surprisingly cosmopolitan stop on the Riviera.

Is the beach sandy or pebbly?
A mix. Fine pebble and sand, which is softer underfoot than it sounds. The water is crystal clear because there's no sand getting churned up, and the shelf is gentle enough for small children.

Can I walk to Sveti Stefan from Becici?
Yes. The coastal path takes about 40 minutes and passes hidden coves and a stunning viewpoint above the island. You can't access Sveti Stefan itself (it's a private resort), but the walk and the view are the real draw.
Tell me about the food in Becici

Becici's promenade is lined with restaurants serving grilled seafood, Montenegrin meats and pizzas, all with Adriatic views included in the price.
Buzara – Prawns or mussels in white wine, garlic and tomato, mopped up with bread. Order it everywhere, compare notes, pick a favourite.
Cevapi – Small grilled meat sausages served in flatbread with onions and kajmak (a creamy cheese). The Balkan fast food you'll crave when you get home.
Njeguski steak – Rolled pork stuffed with smoked ham and cheese from the mountain village of Njeguši. Rich, smoky, and the kind of dish that makes you glad you walked the promenade twice today.
Grilled squid – Whole, chargrilled, served with blitva and olive oil. Simple, and the quality of the seafood does the work.
