Lido di Jesolo is Italy's answer to the question "what if Venice had a proper beach holiday next door?" Fifteen kilometres of continuous golden sand stretching along the Adriatic, a pedestrianised promenade (Via Bafile) so long Europeans call it a street of its own, and the Venice lagoon about 45 minutes away for the world's most iconic day trip.
It's also got a proper dual personality, family-friendly by day with one of Italy's biggest waterparks (Aqualandia), shallow swimming beaches, gelato on every corner, and the Adriatic's legendary summer nightlife by night, where the strip of bars and clubs runs from 11pm until sunrise. Land at Venice Marco Polo, you're in your beachfront hotel within an hour, and you've got two weeks of gelato, spritz, and "we had no idea Italy did beaches this properly" ahead of you.
โจ Highlights of your Holidays to Lido di Jesolo
๐๏ธ 15km of continuous sandy beach, one of Italy's longest uninterrupted stretches of sand, shallow shelving water that's safe for kids, and enough width that even peak August doesn't feel rammed. Blue Flag awarded year after year
๐ถ Via Bafile, the pedestrian promenade that closes to traffic in summer, 10km+ of cafรฉs, gelaterias, boutique shopping and restaurants. Cited as the longest pedestrianised shopping street in Europe when the cars are gone
๐ฅ๏ธ Venice on the doorstep, 45 minutes via the Punta Sabbioni ferry or direct bus to Piazzale Roma. Base here, do Venice as a day trip, skip the Venice-accommodation premium (and the mosquitoes)
๐ข Aqualandia waterpark, one of Italy's biggest with 9+ rides including the Shark Slide, Jungle Run and lazy river. Proper hit with kids all summer
๐ The nightlife strip, the Adriatic's legendary summer party scene, open-air bars, clubs like Il Muretto (genuinely famous in Italian nightlife circles), and the promenade buzzing until dawn every July and August night
๐ Good to Know
โ๏ธ Summer (June to September) runs 24-30ยฐC with the Adriatic warming up to 24ยฐC in August, May and October are properly pleasant at 18-22ยฐC and quieter, winter drops to 5-10ยฐC and most of the beach resort shuts down November to March (though the Sand Nativity runs through the off-season)
๐ท Proper Italian value compared to central Venice, a pizza is โฌ8-12, a full seafood dinner with wine is โฌ25-40 per person, an Aperol Spritz is โฌ5-7 (mandatory) and a gelato is โฌ3-4. Half-board hotel deals are the standard here and genuinely save money over eating out every night
๐๏ธ The beach is free at the public sections, but most of the length is organised into beach clubs (stabilimenti) where you hire sunbeds and umbrellas for the day (โฌ15-25 for two sunbeds plus an umbrella). Most hotels include beach access and loungers in the rate, check before you book
๐จ Where to Stay on your Lido di Jesolo Holidays
Lido di Jesolo's hotel scene is mostly mid-range 3-4 star Italian family-run properties along the promenade, plus a handful of boutique and design-led options, and one proper adults-only Venetian-style hotel. Half-board is the standard offering. Have a look at our picks below, or browse all our Lido di Jesolo hotels for the full range.

๐ฏ Best for Groups
๐จ Hotel Principe Palace โ Works for groups with its multiple room-type range (Standard, Family, Superior, Deluxe, Junior and Premium Suites), meaning group members on different budgets can all stay under the same roof. Piazza Mazzini location puts you in the thick of evening action.

๐๏ธ Best Beaches
Lido di Jesolo's beach is essentially one continuous 15km strip, but the character changes as you walk it, from the family-focused central section through to the quieter pine-forest zones at the eastern end.
๐๏ธ Jesolo Centro (Piazza Mazzini area), the central beach opposite Piazza Mazzini and Via Bafile, the busiest stretch with the biggest hotels behind, beach clubs (stabilimenti) offering sunbed hire, and loads of beach bars. The one you'll see on Instagram
๐ด Piazza Brescia beach, the beach directly opposite the famous nightlife piazza, busier late-afternoon to evening crowd, beach bars with DJ sets from 4pm in peak summer. Properly social
๐ Piazza Milano beach, the eastern stretch with a slightly more grown-up family feel, quieter stabilimenti, and easy access to Aqualandia behind the promenade. Good balance of facilities and space
๐ฒ Pineta (Pine Forest) beach, the far eastern end towards Cortellazzo with pine-forest backing, properly shaded picnic areas, and the quietest stretch of beach in Jesolo. Best for families wanting a calmer day
๐๏ธ Jesolo Pineta and Cortellazzo, beyond the main resort area, less-developed beaches with fewer facilities but properly wide sand and far fewer crowds. Worth the 5km bike ride east from the centre
๐ฆ Cavallino-Treporti beaches, just west of Jesolo towards Punta Sabbioni (the Venice ferry point), continuation of the same sandy strip with more rural Italian-family-holiday feel. Good day-trip destination from Jesolo
โด๏ธ Punta Sabbioni, right at the lagoon entrance where the beach meets the ferry to Venice, sandy with proper Venetian lagoon views, and you can combine a morning beach session with an afternoon in Venice
๐ Lido di Venezia (day trip), across the lagoon, a completely different beach experience with 1930s Art Nouveau hotels and the famous Blue Moon public beach. Ferry-plus-vaporetto from Punta Sabbioni
๐ Where to Stay in Lido di Jesolo
Jesolo is basically one long strip so the differences are more about which bit of the strip you're on, than separate neighbourhoods.
๐จโ๐ฉโ๐ง Families
Piazza Mazzini / central Jesolo puts you in the thick of it with Sea Life aquarium, ice cream on every corner, and the family-friendly central beach. Piazza Milano is slightly further east and quieter, with easy Aqualandia access behind the promenade, plus most of the bigger family hotels (Le Soleil, Harrys) sit along this central-to-east stretch. The Pineta end is the quiet-family alternative with pine forest, less crowded beach and more value-friendly hotels.
๐ Couples
Central Jesolo works for couples wanting easy promenade access, restaurants in walking distance and boutique hotels like Milton and Baia del Mar. The quieter western end towards Cavallino is the grown-up alternative with smaller hotels, less kid chaos and more of a rural-Italian feel. Day-tripping to Venice is the obvious couples upgrade, base in Jesolo, Venice morning, Jesolo sunset.
๐ฏ Groups
Piazza Brescia and the nightlife strip is the group base, the Adriatic's legendary nightlife scene is concentrated on and around this piazza with Il Muretto, Marina Club, and the open-air beach bars that run until dawn. Central Jesolo works for groups wanting restaurants and bars within stumbling distance without being directly in the nightclub zone.
๐ฃ๏ธ Local Lingo
Italian is the language. English is widely spoken in hotels and tourist-area restaurants, but a few Italian phrases open doors:
๐ Ciao / Buongiorno, Hi / Good morning (Buongiorno is polite daytime)
๐ Grazie mille, Thanks a lot
๐ฐ Il conto, per favore, The bill please
๐ท Un Aperol Spritz, per favore, An Aperol Spritz please (the most-used phrase in Jesolo)
๐ Buon appetito, Enjoy your meal (said before eating, universal)

๐จโ๐ฉโ๐ง Families
๐ข Aqualandia is the family day out, one of Italy's biggest waterparks with 9+ rides, a lazy river, kids' zones and a pirate-themed section. Allow a full day, it's properly big
๐ Sea Life Jesolo in the town centre is the indoor family rainy-day option, Mediterranean marine life, a proper shark tunnel and interactive exhibits for younger kids
๐๏ธ The beach itself is the obvious family-day default, shallow shelving makes the first 50m safe for kids, sunbeds hired from the stabilimenti keep the adults sorted, and gelato is never more than 100m away
๐ฒ Bike hire the length of Via Bafile, flat, car-free in summer, 10km+ one way. Kids on their own bikes is genuinely one of the best family days Europe does
๐ฐ Sand sculpture workshops in summer when the Sand Art Festival is running, kids can have a go with proper sculptors, plus gawp at the professional pieces on display
๐ Couples
๐ฅ๏ธ Venice day trip, ferry from Punta Sabbioni (25 minutes by car from central Jesolo) or direct bus to Piazzale Roma, 45 minutes door to door. Get there early, avoid the cruise-ship crowds, back to Jesolo for sunset dinner
๐ท Aperitivo hour on Via Bafile, the pedestrianised promenade turns into one long cocktail terrace from 6pm, Aperol Spritz in hand, people-watching is a contact sport
๐๏ธ Day trip to Murano and Burano (the Venice lagoon islands), Murano for the glass, Burano for the rainbow-painted houses. Combined tickets from Venice once you're there
๐ Sunset walk along the promenade from Piazza Mazzini eastward, the Adriatic sun hits the sand perfectly in July and August evenings, ending at one of the seafood restaurants at the Pineta end
๐ฝ๏ธ Dinner in a proper old-school Italian seafood trattoria, the Venetian Riviera specialises in sarde in saor (sweet-and-sour sardines), spaghetti alle vongole (clams), and fresh Adriatic fish. The backstreets behind the promenade hide the best places
๐ฏ Groups
๐ The Piazza Brescia nightlife strip, Il Muretto is the legendary open-air club that's been on the Italian nightlife map for decades, plus a string of bars and open-air dance floors running until dawn all summer
๐ค Day boat trip to Venice as a group, private water taxis seat 10+, the water-taxi arrival into St Mark's Basin is the proper James Bond entrance
๐พ Beach club day at one of the Piazza Brescia stabilimenti, reserved sunbeds, bottle service, DJ sets from 4pm, evening party carrying straight through to the nightclub strip
๐บ Italian aperitivo crawl, start at a proper backstreet wine bar for a glass of Prosecco with cicchetti (Venetian tapas), work the way along Via Bafile with a Spritz in each bar, end on the beach at sunset
๐๏ธ Day trip to Venice Lido for the beaches and Film Festival venues (September), or for the proper Venetian glamour scene. Ferry from Punta Sabbioni connects the two Lidos in 40 minutes

FAQs
How do I get from Lido di Jesolo to Venice?
How do I get from Lido di Jesolo to Venice?
Two main options. The ATVO bus direct to Venice Piazzale Roma runs every 30-60 minutes in summer, takes around 1 hour and costs around โฌ10-12 one way. Or the scenic route, drive or bus to Punta Sabbioni (25 minutes from central Jesolo), then take the vaporetto 14 or 15 ferry to San Marco (Venice), taking 35-40 minutes across the lagoon. The ferry is the more memorable arrival, the bus is cheaper and easier for multiple people.
What currency do they use in Lido di Jesolo?
What currency do they use in Lido di Jesolo?
The Euro (EUR). Cards widely accepted in hotels and restaurants, but smaller gelaterias, market stalls and some beach bars prefer cash, so keep some on hand. ATMs (bancomat) are easy to find along Via Bafile and around Piazza Mazzini.
When's the best time to visit Lido di Jesolo?
When's the best time to visit Lido di Jesolo?
June and September are the sweet spots, warm enough for beach days (22-26ยฐC, sea warming to 22ยฐC), the promenade is lively without being rammed, and you'll get better hotel rates than July/August. July and August hit 28-30ยฐC with the beach, the nightlife and Aqualandia all peaking, plus school holidays meaning busy. May and October are pleasant at 18-22ยฐC, quieter, good for couples wanting promenade strolls without the crowds. November to March most of the resort shuts down, though the Jesolo Sand Nativity runs December to February if you're curious.
Is Lido di Jesolo good for families?
Is Lido di Jesolo good for families?
Yes, properly. The beach is shallow and safe (first 50m is knee-deep for adults), Aqualandia is one of Italy's biggest waterparks, Sea Life Jesolo is a proper aquarium, the promenade is pedestrianised and flat for kids on bikes, and Italian restaurants universally welcome kids. Half-board hotel deals (the standard here) take the meal-admin out of family holidays.
What's the nightlife like in Lido di Jesolo?
What's the nightlife like in Lido di Jesolo?
Legendary by Italian standards. The area around Piazza Brescia is the nightlife centre with Il Muretto (one of Italy's oldest and most famous clubs), Marina Club and a string of open-air bars and beach clubs running until dawn in July and August. Via Bafile is one long string of bars and aperitivo terraces from 6pm onwards. It's a proper party scene but not aggressive or messy, very Italian. If you want quiet, stay at the eastern Pineta end of the strip rather than near Piazza Brescia.
