Sicily's original seaside resort. Giardini Naxos sits right on a gorgeous sandy bay with Mount Etna looming in the background and glamorous Taormina perched on the cliffs above. It's the kind of place where you spend mornings on the beach, afternoons eating your body weight in arancini, and evenings strolling the seafront with a gelato. Cheaper than its famous neighbour, twice as relaxed, and with proper good Sicily vibes from start to finish.

It's one of the best day trips in Sicily.

When is the best time to visit Giardini Naxos?

June and September are the sweet spot, with warm temperatures (around 30°C), plenty of sunshine and fewer crowds than July and August. Peak summer is brilliant if you want the full buzzy resort experience, but it does get properly hot (34°C) and busy. May and October are still warm enough for beach days if you're lucky with the weather.
