Wild dunes, a proper good beach and peace and quiet – Cala Mesquida is Majorca at its most unspoiled. Tucked away on the northeast coast near Capdepera, this Blue Flag bay feels a world away from the busier resorts. Think 350 metres of golden sand backed by rolling dunes and pine-covered hills, crystal-clear waters, and just enough beachside restaurants to keep you fed. It's the kind of place where you actually switch off – and that's rather the point.
✨ Why Visit Cala Mesquida?
🏖️ Stunning natural beach – a wide sweep of golden sand backed by protected dunes and pine forests, with that proper unspoiled feel
🌊 Great for water sports – sea breezes bring waves for bodyboarding, windsurfing and kitesurfing (rare for Majorca!)
🏔️ Nature on your doorstep – surrounded by protected landscapes with hiking trails to hidden coves and clifftop viewpoints
👨👩👧👦 Peaceful family vibes – shallow waters, lifeguards in summer, and a chilled atmosphere that suits all ages
🏰 Culture within reach – medieval Capdepera Castle, the spectacular Artà Caves, and charming market towns nearby
🎉 Good to Know
☀️ Weather: Expect 28°C+ in summer with around 10 hours of sunshine. One of the driest parts of Majorca – sea breezes keep things pleasant. Spring and autumn are lovely for walking (around 22°C).
💶 Prices: Beach loungers are around €19.50 per day. Meals in the beachside restaurants run €12-18. Slightly pricier than resort-heavy areas but worth it for the setting.
🦅 Fun fact: Cala Mesquida was originally a protected bird colony – and still is. Keep your eyes peeled for cormorants and ospreys around the dunes and cliffs.
