This was my third visit to Benalmadena, having stayed at the Torrequebrada and Puerto Marina on the previous occasions. The one redeeming feature of this hotel was the children's entertainment team - Patrice and Laura were fantastic and are a credit to the organisation. Unfortunately we were given room 200 which is directly next to the children's games/arcade room and open until 11.45 pm. Next to this is the hotel bar which is open until the early hours and both rooms are located on a landing area with lifts and vending machines. Consequently, it is impossible to sleep much before 2am due to unbearable noise levels through the wall and echoing down the corridor. Having not slept for our first 2 nights (myself and a 6 year old), I enquired whether it would be possible to be moved for this very genuine reason - we were exhausted. Unfortunately, I was informed that the hotel was actually overbooked and heard that a number of people had actually needed to be accommodated in the hotel next door upon their arrival - I was therefore told that this would not be possible. We therefore endured our stay rather than enjoyed it and I will not return or recommend this establishment for this reason (more so because there was no effort made to help). I would suggest that anyone who is given room 200 upon arrival refuses it before they are potentially stuck with it! We will return to the Mac Puerto Marina for our next stay, where the rooms are much better situated and there is a greater level of customer care.

Spent a week at this hotel with wife + 2 young children. The apartment-style rooms are good because you can put the children to bed in a separate room without the adults having to go to sleep at the same time! Fridge and microwave potentially useful to be partially self catering, though the breakfast and dinner buffets are excellent and good value. Staff were universally polite and efficient. Blackout blinds on windows. WiFi free, fast and apparently unrestricted. Downsides: - can be noisy, especially due to hard floors - location not great (not very close to beach, but also too far to walk to town/train station) - indoor pool is 1.5m deep everywhere so no good for children - pull-out beds in main room not at all comfortable

We travelled as a family of 2 adults and 3 kids & stayed over Easter 2015, this was our second trip to the hotel returning due to enjoying it so much the first time. If anything it exceeded our expectations on this second visit as our family all had a great time. The hotel is absolutely spotless, plates and glasses are cleared away immediately and the floors are never dirty or messy. The facilities are very good with a large indoor pool, great kids club and lots of entertainment lined up. Rooms are to a good standard and we got a room in a quiet spot exactly as we'd asked. Didn't seem to be as much show cooking this time which was a shame as sometimes the meat wasn't too warm but the selection and choice was very varied. What makes this hotel stand out though is the staff, they all deserve credit but I would like to thank some in particular. Patrice in Animation for looking after my son Max who was allowed the run of a hotel for the first time, he loved the archery, shooting and football in particular. Carman, Alicia & Gabriel in the restaurant were always happy to help and Carmen in particular always had time for my two young girls ( Wapa! ). The most important guys in any hotel, the bar staff, were great again so thanks to Sergio and Simon for great speedy professional service. We are already planning our next trip in Easter 2016, thanks & see you then !

Third year in row and it's great value. We got room 317 which is the worst room in the hotel next to reception, lift and stairwell as well as looking out to the road which and cars and people passing late and early. Also it appeared to be right above the disco which went on late. We had a great time. Why? The staff and hotel attitude are excellent - the room we were given as a cheap upgrade and was excellent value for money. There are lots of little touches that show you the care that goes into looking after you. Plus points adult only swim in morning 8 till 10 - some days had the whole pool to myself super cor supermarket 5 mins away ( much better than the Dia) - go out pool exit and just past garage happy hour 5 to6 then 9 to 10 with half price drinks 3 day meal option for €9.75 eat what you want extremely hard working staff, especially the bar UK football and TV great wifi minus points felt sorry for the staff who work work work which probably explains cheap price - always had a smile for you food wasn't as good as last few years but still good value chandeliers in dining room have quite a few bulbs not working - just give the wrong impression It a hotel that caters for all age ranges with adults only bits as well as family stuff and for the money excellent value. We are already looking at going back next year.
Year round, Benalmadena enjoys a mild, humid climate with hot, dry summers that typically range from 26 to 32° Celsius from May until August. The water temperature rarely drops below the low twenties in the summer, making it the ideal climate to catch a few rays or enjoy the clarity of the warm, blue waters off the coast.
