We stayed in Calella place for 7 nights on an AI bases and I have to say we all had a wonderful time. Hotel rooms are clean and spacious. The food was absolutely delicious - had a wide selection of...
We were originally booked into the olympic hotel but after one night we asked to be moved as it was really over crowded. We were offered a room in Calella palace and all I can say is wow , it was really big, we had 2 double beds and asked for a single for one of my sons who has autism which they quickly sorted out for us. They also allowed us to print off our boarding passes to save us going to the internet café. the staff on reception are really helpful and cheerful and have helped resolve any problems we have had. The pool areas are spotless as is the rest of the hotel. As Calella has lots of restaurants around it we really havnt had many meals here so all inclusive was a waste of money for us as the boys wanted to eat out nearly every night but what we have eaten has been really good and hot, not cold as others have stated on here.can't comment on entertainment as we have either been at local pubs, restaurants or bars oh and shopping, lots of shopping. The card system that the hotel has for drinks was a bit of a pain as the queues were long but no dirty glasses hanging around anywhere which was good to see.Just to mention also washing drying and ironing facilities are free, you book in at reception (I booked for 2 hours and had all mine washed, dried and ironed). The pool area was busy as it was Spanish holiday but we always managed to get a few sunbeds when we used the pool. There is a large Jacuzzi around the back with lots of sunbeds and tables, cant figure out why many people didn't use it but was quiet and suited us. On top of the hotel were 3 Jacuzzis with lots of beds and a bar, this was adults only which meant we only used it twice as the boys wanted to use the big pool. At the end of our stay the manager allowed us to keep our room for another few hours as being without a room would be a problem for our youngest son as it becomes crowded with everyone booking out/in the hotel. Thanks for that Alain. Thanks also to Julio for his patience helping me with the computer, boarding passes and lovely smile and presence around the hotel much appreciated. And thanks to Montse for her help and lovely smile also. A truly fantastic holiday and will be rebooking in the future. I would like to thank the staff

Just returned from AI holiday to Calella palace and had a fab time! The food is fantastic, with a different theme every night and Tuesday nights fajitas were defo a hit with my daughter. The afters are a dream and topped the meal off! The cold meat and choice of salad is just a dream (obviously if you like that) If you are an 'english eating, meat and 2 veg kind of person', then AI really shouldn't be the choice of holiday! Reception staff all speak lovely english and are extremely helpful. There is a little shop in the hotel which can feed anyones crisp addiction and lovely choice of lilos and pool accessories. We didn't use the roof top terrace/bar/pools as we have an eleven year and she wasn't allowed up there which is quite nice to be near moany adults in the 6 week holidays. The hotel is a very short walk to the beautiful beach and can get cheap sun beds and money off in the blue bar on the beach The pool in the hotel is the hub of activity and is just wonderful to constantly hear the sound of children laughing and enjoying themselves. My daughter used the indoor pool aswell as the 2nd ground floor outdoor pool as she made lots of friends and they liked be by themselves. The rooms are lovely and big and the beds are very nice to spread out. The walls are a little thin but the reception staff sort this if you ring them. The one and only down side of this hotel are the bar staff who are quite rude and ignorant! (Apart from Aziz, who liked to smile and have a joke, shame he was the only one!) The staff are more worried about making time consuming coffee for paying customers than serving the AI, and the queues are extremely long in the evening! The entertainment was great and the outside area is lovely to relax in the evening or during the day We enjoyed this very very much and hope to book for longer next summer.

A great holiday. Perfect for families. Very clean hotel. Beautiful breakfasts. Great to gave the snack bar twice a day. If you don't make breakfast after a lie in snack bar 11-12 is perfect for bacon and sausage butties! Good food choices in the evening. Good choice with the all inclusive drinks. Good position as a short walk to the beach. There is nothing to complain about with this hotel for the price you pay. We found ALL the staff friendly and helpful. Free laundry room use which we have never had before.
