Just returned from a 3 night stay. This is not a 4 star hotel more like 3 star. The staff on reception were helpful but we found the staff in the restaurant were not. On our first night we were half way through our meal before we could get a waiter to acknowledge us and get a drink. The food is nothing special but edible with a wide choice from the buffet. As other reviews have said the walls of rooms are very thin and the decor is a little tired. The beds are comfortable but we did not have a single goods night sleep due to the fact that there were large school parties staying in the hotel.Get a large group of teenagers together and they are going to be noisy, although chanting from the balconies was not the behavior you expect at a 4 star hotel. The large numbers could also account for the restaurant staff lack of service. Getting near the buffet area was difficult at times and you could not relax and enjoy a leisurely meal because of the noise. We would not stay here again.

We found this hotel on the internet at a very good price for one week. Clean, tidy, modern hotel. Beds were very comfortable, with nice plump pillows. Rooms cleaned and beds made every day. Food ok chef cooks fish fresh on the grill, very tasty. Entertainment, don't bother. The walls in the rooms have no soundproofing. So if someone has their tv on until after midnight you can not go to sleep. The man in the next room had a cough and woke us up several times. We were invaded by two coach loads of teenage students, who had no idea how to queue up for food. So we had to work our meals around them as it was so noisy and no tables left. we were so relieved when they went home. one hour later two more coaches turned up oh no!. I was told by a member of staff, they don't come in the summer. Other than that little problem, a nice hotel.

Calella Palace. Booked here for a very last minute deal and at a very good price. We had a quick read about the place on Trip Advisor and knew there might be a few issues as other people had said things like; Thin walls, bad soundproofing. ( True, our neighbour, Terry used to wake up for a good cough at 4 am. And it was like ha was sleeping in our bed! ) We agreed not to flush the loo at night as this was loud enough to wake most of the rooms on our floor. Well as the other folks say on Trip Advisor, Grumpy bar staff. Well only one grumpy guy really who comes across like after he’s tidied up his bar area he’d be well happy if all the guests left the hotel and never came back! Maybe he should get a job as a parking meter man. Special thanks to the young boy and girl bar staff , very friendly even when I bumped into the boy outside hotel. Strange system for getting drinks on all/inc. You take a glass back before getting the next drink. It means you can only get one drink at a time. You do get used to it and it seems to keep the queue down at the bar as the waiters don’t have to collect glasses. Meal times. You had to plan when to eat with precision. 100 students were keen to push in front of you. The queues were terrible. Tip. Get there as soon as doors open, if busy, wait an hour, then go back. The same students did make a nuisance of themselves during the night, but we were lucky, they was not on our floor, although other people on 4th and 5th floor said their night’s sleep had been ruined. Waiting for lifts at meal time could be long, but with 100 student messing with the lifts, to be expected. Food was OK, just OK. Fantastic country walks just two minutes walk outside hotel, much better than walking to the sea. ( for me anyway, as I’m a bird watcher and the birding was superb). We have been to the H Top hotel group 4 times before, so knew what to expect and would go again. Mind you, only on a cheap deal, if paying normal rates we would stay somewhere else. All in all, not a bad week away at all.
As you would expect from this part of the word, Calella basks in a coastal Mediterranean climate, ensuring year-round mild temperatures. Autumn and spring enjoy cooler weather, or come in July and August for summer at its hottest. The weather is perfect for Calella holidays no matter what time of year you visit. East is ideal for golf, summer is excellent for sun tanning while Autumn is an ideal time for an offpeak holiday in Calella. Just don’t forget to slap on that high-factor sunscreen!
As UK, Courses or boosters sometimes advised: hepatitis A (not normally for package tourists).
