Half way through our 10 day stay and so far we have had a lovely time, the night life in Albir isn't great, you need to go into Benidorm, so we have been told, the beach is stoney, the weather is so hot, too hot to do anything except sit near the pool, the aqua park is fantastic, the kids love it.

Please bear in mind that my review is likely to be tainted by comparison to a first choice holiday village last year, but that cost twice the price of this holiday. Just back, today, from a week here. Have to concur with other recent reviews that all inclusive is NOT worth it. Tiny plastic cups of about 30 ml for beer. Food is passable, with a great variety but very average quality. The restaurant is not air conditioned, which given the recent unusually high temps, made it uncomfortable. The rooms are basic but exactly what I expected for the price. Only downside is that air con is only on main living room, not the bedroom. We were in block E which is a good way from the entertainment area, if you want some quiet. The new waterpark is brilliant though, and despite all I have said above, that is the one thing which could tempt me back here again. Our kids loved it, aged 5 and 7. Staff were very friendly, especially Antonio who looks after the restaurant. Our checkin was smooth and quick, The only blip was today when they forgot our alarm call, fortunately only a backup to our own alarm anyway.

The accommodation was very good until the ants invaded the bathroom. The staff were very helpful about the problem, but it quickly became clear that the problem was not going to go away and we were offered another apartment. We had no more problems after this and had a very enjoyable week.

My partner and I were looking for a cheap and cheerful get away with our 2 young kids (ages 4 and 2) and this is what we got ... We arrived here with high expectations from the mixed reviews on this and couldn't wait to get settled in . However we were left waiting at reception upon arrival late afternoon for a further 45 minutes , without being acknowledged as the reception staff seemed to dilly dally so to speak . Did I mention it was only my family that arrived so there was no need for the delay ? Then when we finally got seen too we were told our room still wasn't ready and we were told to leave our luggage in the luggage room (which was left unlocked) and go for lunch in the restaurant , then return to the reception to see if our room was cleaned . Eventually at 5 o'clock when our patience was wearing thin we were told our room was ready and we were giving the keys . We were in Block H which is a wee 5 minute walk away from the main building but a wee walk never harmed anyone and after a long day we were just glad to get settled in . We spent most of our days at the Aqua park, which is the only highlight about this hotel and found that the best times to go are between 1pm and 3pm as its a lot quieter around these times . Supervision by staff at the pool was excellent . We had a little spat with one of the lifeguards as one day our oldest was allowed down the slides herself and the next she had to be accompanied by an adult but it was easily resolved . We were also asked by a member of staff not to eat in the water park although most families were eating in it anyway . My children had the best time in there and there was always a moan from them at leaving time . We very rarely sat at the other pools . Found that the beach bar closing at 1:30 and opening back up at 3:30 and also the BBQ (which consits if burgers , hotdogs , toastie and chips literally) closing at 1pm and opening at 3pm was a bit silly to say the least plus the pools are always packed with sunbed hoarders. Kids entertainment was fab also .. During our seven days we seen reptiles , parrots and owls . Mini disco every night apart from a Sunday which is fab . We were all inclusive which was absolutely terrible . Everything my kids wanted we had to pay for anyway and even alcoholic drinks were very limited . I like a dissarano which is an additional 2 euro and 1.30 euro for a small bottle of water is a bit steep . So it's totally not worth it !!! I can't see why people are raving about the food either . It's mostly pork and fish, (which we personally couldn't eat due to the amount of bones) we found it very limited and actually stopped eating in the restaurant due to the minimum choice and the fact dinner doesn't begin until 8pm which is a little late for families with young kids. I would recommend if you do go here to go self catering , there's a supermarket across the road which is very cheap as well as cheap restaurants and bars all directly at the hotel . 10 euros in a taxi gets you to Benidorm centre if you fancy a change of scenery . We went twice and the kids had a brilliant day out each time. Would also point out that yes your room is cleaned every day but that's merely your towels and bedding with your bins getting emptied .. My partner squashed a coach roach on day 2 (my fault for leaving the balcony door open) and it was still at the side of the couch a few days later when we went back to check (out of curiousity as it was at the side of the sofa bed which we never used) . All in all ... Ofcourse my kids had a great time .. What young kids don't enjoy a water park and a dance at night .. But from an adult point of view .. Once here was definatley enough !!! (Sorry for the long review guys , hope I've helped you in your holiday choice !)
