My daughter has just returned from a week's holiday here with her friends after finishing 6th form. Despite paying premium for an all inclusive 4 star hotel, the experience she received was far from worth it! The staff treated their 4 strong group like dirt, and looked down on them due to the fact they were young! They were told to change their outfits for dinner 5 times due to being "inappropriate" despite the fact older guests were wearing exactly the same type of clothing! My daughter was made to pay €20 for a safe that did not work as the hotel refused to refund her and in doing so spoke to her in a very angry and intimidating manner which made my daughter feel very upset and uncomfortable. The 4 girls were also told on numerous occasions to be quiet despite other guests making just as much noise. The food was also not worth the money and the all inclusive package is also not worth getting. Despite this appalling customer service, the rooms were tidy, the beds were made everyday and the pool facilities were lovely and clean. The location was great and close to the strip which is what the girls wanted. Having heard my daughters experience, I would NOT recommend this hotel to young groups as the customer service is atrocious and for £700 you would expect much better!

I went to this hotel after just finishing Sixth Form with 5 other friends and was massively disappointed for the money I paid. Firstly, all the staff, bar few, we're all incredibly rude and would complain about our clothing, such as wearing shorts or dresses, to dinner in 30 degree heat and complaining if we were talking once we got back from clubbing, when we were not being noisy. Even such that with our clothing, we were placed in the corner table of the dining hall to hide us away. The food was also horrendous, it was basic and whilst is a three course meal, I threw away 70% of my food, as did the rest of my friends and noticiably, other guests. I stayed for one week and it was only on my fourth day that I was served some kind of meat. For the £640 I paid for only one week, I feel that there are many other hotels that would have a better standard for that same price. However, more positively, the public hotel area and pool was very clean and the rooms were fantastic, the room service tidied the room and changed the sheets every few days and we had new fresh towels daily. Bear in mind the photos displayed on the hotels website are not at all correct and whilst a pretty hotel, the pool is considerably smaller and it doesn't look as trendy.

The hotel is very nice, clean, rooms are somewhat spacious, although kind of crowded with the single extra bed, we had a great view of the pool, but on the quiet side, by the way the soundproofing works great, since almost every evening there was a nice live event- singing, dancing, others. The pool is big enough and there are sufficient chairs. Also the served breakfast is ok -not so varied, but it should satisfy all tastes for one week. The one and only minus is the dinner -we had half board but it is not worth it. Especially with such great restaurants around, the food at the hotel is really... not good. And if you wanna shower around 7 PM you”ll probably receive warm not hot water, but with those temperatures, it is ok! Another point worth mentioning is that it is very convenient located - away from the noise of the city center, yet only a couple of minutes from it. I would recommend it for accomodation only, with a warm advice to eat out - across the street for example!

Tourist Information

Weather

Laganas has a Mediterranean climate offering hot summers and mild winters with copious amounts of sunshine throughout the year. The best time of year to visit Zante is between April and September when the sun is at it's brightest and the temperatures at their highest. Don't worry that it's going to be too hot and sticky during the summer months, cool breezes called Meltemia provide just enough light wind to cool you down.

If a tan isn't top of your list and you would rather avoid the crowds, head to Laganas outside the peak summer months. Late September and October are much more quiet and relaxed but still offer great weather.

Jabs

All travellers are advised to ensure that tetanus and polio vaccinations are kept up to date. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required from all travellers over one year of age coming from infected areas.

Electricity

The power supply in Greece is 220 V AC at 50 Hz. You may require an adapter for the round two-pin sockets in use in Greece. Power cuts are not uncommon.

Visa

Many visitors to Greece will not need to obtain a visa for visits to Greece of up to 90 days.
