Everything was much better than expected, given we were going for our grad trip and we paid not an insane amount. The rooms were clean and neat, our fridge wasn't working though but for us this wasn't a problem. The staff was all very friendly and happy to help, they gave us early breakfast for when we needed it and dealt very well with 20+ teenagers arriving at the same time. however the cleaning crew was a bit annoying as they kept coming into our rooms early at 8 or 9 (we were not fully awake at this point) and even then just giving us toilet paper, they didn't actually clean our bathroom so by the end of the week it was gross-even on days when we were out of our rooms in the morning the bathroom was still dirty, only the beds were made. Other than that the food was good, your typical half board, and the three pools were great, one for swimming and the others for just relaxing, perfect for us. Very close to the strip about 5mins walking and a safe and well lit route especially for girls. Great location as it's far enough away so you don't get noise if you want an early night, but close enough not to make walking back tired difficult. There was a supermarket right in front of the hotel were we could buy snacks and drinks and lunch, we even had a picnic or two on the grass in the hotel complex, it was all very clean and tidy. There was security at night so you couldn't just walk in if you didn't look familiar to them which was good, although they left the keys out on the reception in the middle of the night with no security check so anyone could pick it up (we didn't want to take the keys with us clubbing). This was never a problem though. Overall it was a great hotel and we definitely got what we paid for, worth booking if you want more than the bare minimum as part of your grad trip or trip with your mates.

When booking our girls holiday for 4 back in January 2015 we were very apprehensive about our stay due to the low price at which we had paid and many very negative reviews we had read. Apon our arrival at Meropi these nervous thoughts very quickly changed. The woman working at the front desk to welcome us was very friendly whilst checking us in and showing us to our room. As 4 young adults she joked about our excitement and anticipation to hit the strip at night and overall made us feel very welcome. Our room was split into 1 bedroom with 2 beds, 1 bathroom and the main room which contained 2 more beds, the small kitchen area including a fridge and the door to the balcony. The room was much larger then we expected, there was plenty of storage space too. A major plus for us in this hotel was that wifi was free and relatively quick. The only negative of the room was the jumping spiders that entered the room if the balcony door was left open, however as we paid for aircon we hardly had this problem with the balcony door being constantly closed. The food at the hotel was also much better than expected. It was not your standard burgers and chips that you would expect. Every lunch and dinner they would have at least 2 types of meat, pasta, fish, lots of vegetables, chips, varieties of salads and cheeses, fruits, ice cream and lots more. As someone with a gluten intolerance I was expecting to struggle to find a lot I could eat, but I found I could eat loads without having to worry. If in the small chance you do not like the food there is 2 supermarkets literally opposite the hotel in which you can buy pretty much anything. The all inclusive drinks are the only things that we had trouble with in the hotel. Drinks were available 24/7 from the bar and soft drinks could be dispensed all day near the kitchen. The soft drinks did not taste nice, you become used to them as the week goes on, but none the less they taste like they have been made using dirty fizzy water with a hint of coke or whatever you choose flavouring. You also cannot get bottles of water, nor can you fill up bottles with water so your only option is to fill up 1 cup of water at a time to take to your room which you usually finish before you get there. we ended up just buying water from the supermarket to put in our fridge. The all inclusive alcoholic drinks were too not great. We had seen in reviews that if you have Ouzo with lemonade it tastes like vodka lemon. It doesn't. We tried the wine once, but that too tasted like dirty water. So again we would buy our drinks from the supermarket to have in our room. The reviews we had read suggested that Meropi was a very family based hotel which is true. During the day the sun beds and pools are taken up by mainly families. This did not bother us at all as during the day we were not always feeling our best from the night before so having a quite atmosphere was brilliant for us. The hotel was split into the main hotel building and lobby next to pool 1. The other 2 pools were surrounded by more hotels and apartments. The majority of young people we were friends with and spoke to were in the main building we were in. I think the hotel does this to separate us from the families and to keep our noise contained. We made friends with different groups very quickly and easily and at night we would all meet up and go out together. If you are looking for 24/7 party atmosphere then do not come to Meropi, but if you are fine to chill during the day and party and night then Meropi is the perfect place for you. The distance to the main strip was another concern for us. We had seen reviews ranging from a 5-25 minute walk. In reality, when you have had a few drinks and it's cooler at night the walk to and from the strip is maximum 5 minutes. During the day when it's boiling and you are hungover walking to the beach near the strip then the walk can easily take you 15 minutes. Honestly though the walk was never even an issue for us, we found it just the right distance to finish our pre drinks and to consume the rest of us pizza on the drunk journey home. Another major concern for us that we joked about for the months leading up to our holiday was the 'Hitler' that worked in the hotel who 'hated everyone British'. We had seen so many bad reviews mentioning this said employee that we had built up so much anticipation to see him. We met no one to match this description at all. All the staff we met were lovely, even the security guard George who came round when things got too loud was always making jokes and never was aggressive in any way. The only person who was ever impolite to us was the bar tender Elvis who was very rude to us on one occasion, but other then that he was lovely too. If you are young and want to experience Malia's night life, but are not too fussed about the day atmosphere and want excellent value for money then I would say that Meropi is the best place to go!

i stayed at this hotel with 2 of my friends - our check in date was supposed to be on the 7th july but we arrived the following morning - the staff at the reception were still extremely helpful. All inclusive included drinks however we were half board so we were only allowed drinks in the morning which was still good. variety of food and plenty of food available even if u came in 10mins before the end. Staff were really nice especially a lady called maria/ marianna and a young girl who worked there as well as elvis who made the atmosphere very lively. 3 pools which was very nice. cleaners were available to clean your room every day and if you didnt want it cleaned they were very nice about it. This is more a family hotel but if you're young its still okay if u want a good nights sleep ect. Wifi available Literally a 5 minute work from the strip and there is a off license/ supermarket right opposite the hotel which was extremely helpful
