What a fantastic place to stay! We are a family of 3 and stayed for a week bed & breakfast. My husband and I were celebrating our 25th anniversary along with his birthday so in prior to travel I contacted reception to ask if they could book us a place in the La Laja restaurant and to have a cake made for his birthday. We had a lovely surprise, not only did they make a fabulous cake they also gave us a complimentary bottle of Cava plus on arrival we had a bottle of Cava & box of Chocs in our room! Very pleased with all of this.. The food was superb couldn't fault it at all. The pools were nice and large, spotless & clean at all times. A spacious and very clean room, the only tiny criticism I have was the rusty shower but not a real problem. We will definetly be returning and looking forward to booking a stay in the Victoria Hotel as well.

Have stayed at this hotel 4 times and it has never failed to amaze me. It is a great hotel for families and couples. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, very large bathroom and a good sized balcony. The pool and garden area is amazing and is always kept clean. You don't have to get up in the early hours of the morning to get sunbeds as the hotel enforces a strict policy that nobody can reserve sunbeds before around ten o'clock. Large marble lobby which has a bar, hairdressers and a few shops. there are plenty of seating options available and there is also a library The hotel staff are fantastic and are very attentive, the hotel is in walking distance of the beach, several restaurants and there is a supermarket just around the corner. There is a market that runs two days a week across the road from the hotel which is nice for a wander round. A free bus is available from the bus stop across the road to Siam Park, it can get busy I would recommend just getting a taxi if you can. In my opinion the dinner at night is not of 5 star quality, I would recommend going bed and breakfast or half board which gives you the freedom to go and eat where you want for dinner. This is one of my favourite hotels and I will certainly be staying here again.

We have come back from a 16 night stay at The Costa Adeje Gran hotel in Tenerife with Monarch Holidays / Cosmos. We were appalled at the state of the décor throughout, but mainly with the refusal to have any air conditioning on throughout the property except the room which was barely sufficient and was quite uncomfortable at night. We were told that the doors were left open to get a through draft. The place had peeling and falling off exterior paint and plaster and is very tired indeed, but the refusal for any air conditioning in the main entertainment and bar area, left all very hot and sweaty all evening! quite unbearable at certain times when the sun blasted through the huge Glass frontage of the hotel. we have arrived back home not refreshed at all and totally disappointed with the whole holiday! I went away to celebrate my 60th birthday and ended up spending £2500.00p eating out and drinking out in air conditioned external bars and restaurants and we were all inclusive, Oh yes we did not see a cosmos Rep at any stage of our stay! and all the hotel management would say about the heat inside the main areas and restaurant was " we have some doors open for a through draft " Totally not 5 star and totally unacceptable. we have stayed in 4 star properties that would shame this place!

Just returned from a lovely break here, and would return, but people need to be aware that this is most definitely NOT a 5* hotel/ resort. The good: * Room sizes - rooms are spacious and have lots of storage. Bathrooms, likewise - with a separate toilet area within it. * Location - this is most definitely in the 'nice' part of town! Turn left out of the hotel and a short walk takes you to chav central, where you'll find 'English' pubs and a macdonalds!! A walk straight towards the beach and to the right takes you to a posh shopping centre and lovely up market restaurants along the beach. * pools - 4 to chose from, if you include the baby's pool. * staff- reception staff in particular are very helpful. * free drink (cava/apple juice) offered at check in, although you have to help yourself. * sunbeds - so comfortable. * TV has uk channels, but channel 4 doesn't work at all and BBC had bad reception. still, you don't go away to watch telly! * room had black out curtains. made having a lie in very easy! * rooms also had an internal bedroom door, which was effective in stopping all corridor noise. * asked for quiet room and got one over looking mini golf. very quiet. * fridge in the room not stocked, so you're invited to use it as a fridge! apparently you can order booze for it. we used it for water. point to note. machine next to hotel shop sells water cheaper than hotel bars - like half the price! * very good Chinese next door to hotel! The bad: * you have to pay to use the safe in your room €2 per day plus €10 deposit. come on , this is supposedly a 5* hotel, I've never been charged to use the safe in any other upmarket hotel!! * all towels, (bathroom and pool) are practically threadbare! good for exfoliating your skin though, as they're not soft!! haha! * hair drier in room VERY poor!! if you have thick hair, bring your own. Ours basically coughed at my hair and overheated, so, after using it for all over a minute and stopping briefly to move my hairbrush, it wouldn't restart again for ages. * air con in our room was RUBBISH. there's a fan control but not a temperature control. we asked reception to send someone to look at it but nothing changed. room not hot, but not cold either! * lifeguard - one for 4 pools. * pool bar snacks, of poor quality - hot dog, pizza baguette or toasted sandwiches are the option. had to send hotdogs back a few times as they weren't hot enough. * OUR BIGGEST BUG BEAR! The 'adults only' pool as advertised, isn't actually adults only. Apparently children are allowed up there accompanied by adults. * inconsiderate people in the roof top pool area blasting out their own music. * hotel lobby and bar area (same area) VAST - no atmosphere. * as this is the quiet part of town, there aren't many restaurants. when we asked the hotel reception where there was a good tapas restaurant, they were stumped! * hotel doesn't offer airport transfers. we used resorthoppa and were impressed with them. * no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. * 'free' WIFI was absolutely crap. didn't work in rooms at all and barely in the hotel lobby. ended up having to pay for it on my phone. All in all despite my complaints, this isn't a bad hotel, it's just tired! the hotel chain is building a new hotel practically across the road, and I wonder if this hotel might be winding down as a result of that. This hotel is at best a 4* and really should be downgraded in my opinion - especially as you can now book on 'low cost holidays' and the like. Would return for another 'do nothing but relax' break but not with such high expectations!
