He have just come BC from these apartments ,we had a fantastic holiday .in our party we had 6 adults and 5 child aged 4-13 yrs .the pools were great,we spent most of our time at the one with the slides.there were friendly life guard until 6 pm.the spash zone was great for all ages.around that pool if u don't get a bed early u miss out, thats the only down fall.everywhere was clean, aways a cleaner in pool area.food and drink was great,we didn't have to queue long for drinks, can only get 2 at time but we didn't find that a problem.food was great, breakfast full cooked bfast fresh bread and pancakes and omlettes made in front of you.fresh meat, fish, pizzas made at dinner and tea.you can get food from 8 am to 9.30 pm.the rooms are ok they are out dated but all our rooms were clean and cleaned through out our stay. The downside was we has a couple of cockroaches and ants got in our room which we reported and the cleaners gave us insect spray which worked but this down fall was expected.i recommend a fan as no air con and a safe which is extra but not expensive.while here we visited the zoo which was really good we got to feed giraffes camels zebras.we also went to water park it was great, food and drink cheap the only downfall was the water was really salty. It is a short walk to the shops and pubs and beach.i read the review before I went and I was worried but now I have been I would go BC tomorrow its great place for everyone.xx

We saved for two years to take our children on holiday. The First night we arrived at 9pm, we were put in block A. We noticed we didn't have enough beds for our two children so we rang reception. Thats when we met Markos who came to bring us the extra bed, he had seen our two children playing on their tablets and the the electronics we had. The next night we went to dinner at 6:30pm and nipped to see the entertainment, when we got back to our room at 9pm, their was nothing unusual, all the doors were locked. However once inside we soon realised we had been robbed!!! Thats when our hearts sank, i rang reception to be told that " she was the only person on shift and couldn't assist us" I told her to get the police. On arrival of the police they confirmed that there was no possible way other than a key which we knew as the robber had locked the doors on leaving! They took everything including all of our money, cards, the childrens headphones nintendo ds, tablets, mobile phones! Who knew what equipment we had other than the employee of coleta dorada???? Its all an inside job! We were left in our bugalow that evening as the receptionist went home, all 4 of us slept in one room, where i locked the bedroom door and had i slept with a knife next to me, scared for the saftey of our children! We got to reception at 6 am after no sleep, no one arrived until 8am and we was then told the manager doesn't start work until 10am!! Once he arrived we explained the situation above that the robber had a key and we believe it was one of his employees and that he needs to act on the safety of the other guests, but he didnt want to know. Said he didn't think others needed to know and that we were the only case, however We then heard another 6 or 7 stories of other guests thats had been burgled, why are the hotel not acting, why were we not informed of the robberies that happened the day before we arrived?? Lukily we were not in the bungalow at the time unlike the guest we spoke to that woke up to a man in their room. My husband spent 2 days of our 7 day holiday in reception and at the police station. We were eventually moved to a new bugalow and could see on the pvc door frame due to large chunks of plastic missing that this also had been attempted to be broken into at some point! (I have pictures) i would make traps at night time like wrapping my hairdryer around the door handle so if it opened i would hear it bang!! I felt unsafe and uneasy about this stay and glad to be in my own bed at home so i can finally have a decent nights sleep and know my children are safe! If the hotel comment thats fine, but my question to you would be why didnt you act on this at the time??? From an upset family of four whose holiday was ruined at the Caleta Dorada!!

2 couples (early - mid 20's) staying mid August 2015. overall a disappointing and unorganised start all cutting into our first night and day/unpacking and settling in time. turned away on arrival at gone 10pm to a sister hotel with no clear explanation just confusing statements such as "I don't know why so please don't ask me", "the rooms were flooded after a week of rain and need to dry out" and "you don't have children so it is easier to give you a room somewhere else". (and on checkout I was told it was due to a 'technical difficulty') we were ordered a taxi (paid for by hotel) and told to come back at 2pm the next day. awful first night spent in caleta garden hotel - a few minutes drive away. not up to scratch, un-welcoming rooms, awful breakfast buffet, small pool and bar area, very noisy at night - would not recommend. we were told that we could stay at this hotel if we preferred it - we had nothing to compare it with and on searching the price difference I am disgusted! arrived back the next day - quick check in and found our bungalow apartments - which I couldn't fault - basic rooms, bath with shower, kitchen and lounge area with TV and sofa bench, clothes rack and front patio with table and chairs. but hard to believe that they had been flooded the day before! The maids only came to our room twice in 7 days - sheets only noticeably changed once. had to ask for fresh towels in between. dead cockroach found under bedside table when we were leaving (I'm no stranger to seeing cockroaches abroad obviously no one can stop them coming in but who knows how long that was laying there for!!) Big restaurant with good variety of food each day - although being vegetarian I found myself limited to salad, chips and pizza. had working kitchen staff and friendly waiters! we chose to eat out a couple of nights - some great restaurants in town. good range of drinks and snacks at pool bars. choice of 3 pool areas - all got busy very quickly, advise to get your towels out early! a lot of the sun loungers were worn in and/or the back rest did not stay up. filter in main pool had been broken for 3 days - water visibly dirty so avoided for a few days! night time entertainment was good. bar staff generous with the alcohol measures! would recommend bringing a cardigan/jumper for windy evenings. we had a late flight back, transfers picking us up at 6pm. I asked reception if they could offer us late check out in compensation of the disruption to the beginning of our holiday. she apologised for the 'technical difficulty'.. but could not provide late check out. she gave us a token card to allow us access to all inclusive lunch and pool bar until we left which was much appreciated. all in all I would not return back here based on our first impression and 'welcome'. I can only fault my stay on the cleanliness, minority of unhelpful and rude staff, and need for renewal/maintenance of pool area/sun loungers. The lack of honesty about the reason for our rooms not being ready is unacceptable and I would not want to risk that happening again as we missed out on our first night and day to settle in. obviously this will not happen to everyone but our experience was not a one off by the look of other reviews and was not dealt with in a very professional manner.
