Arrived late to an awful room that should never have been on offer. The smallest of bedrooms with two very basic beds curtain hanging off the rail & a wardrobe door that we struggled to open...
We have visited this hotel 3 times. 1st and second in 2nd in Summer 2011 which were great. The third visit in summer 2013 however was terrible. We we given a 1 bed apartment which i thought would be great as travelling with a baby you need more space, The apartment was past the pool, through a building full of hotel rooms, along the path and into another building of rooms. The lift is old, noisy and very small. Our room was missing a cot as we'd requested before arriving. A cot was delivered and I only wish I'd saved the photograph of what we were given to put our 1 year old child in. There was a huge screw sticking out the side facing in towards where the baby would have been. I immediately phoned reception and was told that the room staff had clocked off and would replace it in the morning. I refused to put my child in the cot and so someone from reception brought another eventually. The floors of the rooms were not cleaned and hadn't been for a while. our feet from walking in the apartment were black bright, and in the bathroom were those little silver fish squirming around on the floor. The food is edible but wouldn't go much further than that. I stuck to soup and fruit for our stay. The wine is served from little vending machines and tastes horrible. The best part of the complex is definitely the pool area, although we preferred to use our room toilet (as far away as it was) due to finding a poo on the floor of the pool toilets. Although the beach is a good 10 minute walk away it is a nice beach. The noise in the night was unbearable for us. Doors banging and kids running up and down corridors until early hours, then the drunks coming back shouting and screaming, then you hear the early risers getting up just an hour or so later. We decided from the cleanliness and the lack of sleep that we wouldn't stay to see the end of this holiday and returned home after 2 days.
Very basic accommodation friendly staff bar area let down badly by cables randomly hanging down from the ceiling in finished flooring and no lighting at night if it was finished it would have been...
We stayed here as a family group, 4 adults and 4 kids(0-13). Arriving outside after a long transfer I have to admit that I thought I had made a big mistake, the hotel looked like a hostel...this changed immediately on entering the hotel. It was clean, spacious and cool. The staff were really friendly and made sure our room was on the ground floor as we had a baby. The room was basic, no kettle but it had a fridge. 2 sofa beds, and a pull out trundle in the lounge and a double in the bedroom. The bathroom was clean(didn't see one roach the whole holiday!) as were the rooms and bedding. The long balcony accessible from both rooms was great! The food was as expected for a budget hotel but fresh and plentiful, always something for even the fussiest of eaters! Never waited more than 2 minutes for a drink and the bar staff were even happy to supply milk for the baby and nightly hot chocolate for our other three.. The hotel is just a short walk to shops(many bargains to be had!),bars etc and a pleasant 10 minute stroll to the little beach with massive waves!!!! We didn't venture out much as out kids were kept occupied by the fab ents team...especially yllenia and Carla, even adults were encouraged to get involved in the many daily activities. The evening entertainment was good, maybe a little samey but the crew worked hard! All in all we booked a 10 day budget family holiday, all inclusive and were pleasantly surprised by our trip. Don't let bad reviews put you off of staying here, but if you are in need of peace and quiet then maybe go adult only at a different hotel.
We have just returned after a 3week stay, and I must say what a wonderful time we had, we were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our 1 bedroom apartment was a standard one but had...
Upon our arrival at Club Cala Romani, our first impressions judging by the exterior were pretty decent. Inside, we were greeted by friendly staff who had no problem in allowing me to use their office to print off additional paperwork. So for me that was a good start! The pool area looks like it should belong to a four star hotel at the very least; clean, spacious with plenty of sun loungers and just looked really lovely overall with a decent sized big pool and a separate child pool. Our apartment was basic BUT clean and spacious and the views across the countryside and small mountains in the distance were spectacular during sunrise and sunset. Rooms were cleaned daily also. Food was basic with a good choice each day/evening though the snack bar was the same everyday and could have had a little more choice but was delicious nonetheless. There were some pretty decent entertainment during the evening though seemed to be aimed more towards the kids which isn't always a bad thing if us parents want to enjoy a tipple of alcohol... Or two! Hotel was roughly 15 minutes walk from the sandy beach - not huge but still plenty of space if you get there early enough. The superb shopping/market centre is only a 5/10 minute walk from the hotel which boasts plenty of shops catering for your holiday needs aswell as clothing, souvenirs etc. There's an 'English' pub by the market also which serve some very tasty crepes! Overall, Club Cala Romani is an all round great hotel, especially for families. Great location though it is about a 90 minute drive from the airport. I have been to other hotels in the area; Hotel Samoa and it's sister hotel, Eurocalas - both of which were great but Cala Romani was by far the best for it's size. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will be going back again very soon.
We have stayed in parque mourabel pe do lago n oasis village complex alot the appartments are spotless and spacious the kitchen has everything you need the house keeping staff are great and friendly...
We stayed here 3 years ago looking for somewhere clean, with nice food and suitable for our children. The cala Romani ticked the boxes whilst being acceptable cost wise as the wife can only have term time off. The hotel is huge, the rooms are spacious and clean and the food is great id rate it 9/10 and I'm fussy. They have the traditional restaurant as well as a pizzeria. Foods is replenished quickly, very efficient chefs on theme days and a huge selection of different foods. The pool area is lovely, perfect for children and adults too. The staff are great, bar staff friendly and quick. There is a snack bar open all day too, fresh fruit hams/cheese bread etc. small shop on site stocks every day essentials(the essential Cheetos) newspapers pool equipment etc. the hotel provide a huge slide daily for the children and of an evening there are trampolines, bouncy castles etc(small charge). Five minute walk to beach area, which is lovely. Hotel also has a park area and tennis courts, daily kids club with games etc and one for adults. Five min walk to local shops(plenty of them) and a bus stop should you want to venture afar. Evening entertainment is more aimed at children, but if they are happy then us adults are too right? We switch between Cyprus Portugal Spain and are returning again this august for two weeks. The only negative id put is the transfer time from airport, around 2.5 hours, a private taxi would be 45 min.
Holidays in Calas de Mallorca are perfect in the summer for those wishing to top up their tans as temperatures reach 30° Celsius and beyond. Make sure you have your sun cream handy, as it will definitely be needed! Winter months tend to be a lot cooler and the weather can be more temperamental, with periodic rainfall and cloud. So make sure you pack suitable clothing regardless of when you plan on visiting this idyllic Balearic island.
