my husband and I stayed at the Mourabel Apts for one week in June.We upgraded to a superior as it had air con. The standard apartment we had originally booked only had a fan. We paid an extra 7 euro a night for this which was well worth it. Our apartment was in the main block and overlooked the pool, everything in the apartment was new (the frying pan still had the label on). Very spacious and a lovely balcony. We were selfcatering so only ate in the hotel on the first night. food very basic but ok, although did hear that people who had booked half board were not too happy with food in the evening. Lovely walk to the Marina where there are plenty of eating places of good quality. Really loved Vilamoura and hoping to revisit again in Sept.

just returned from a great 5 day break @ parque mourabel and would definitely consider staying there again the future. Stayed in a 2 bed apartment in oasis village (across the road from parque mourabel) spread over 2 floors. good facilities, spacious and clean. it would be great if the oasis had a pool but its really not a big issue going across the road or up to the one at pe do lago. one thing we did notice is the gardens / pool areas are very well maintained and can't really be faulted in any way We actually used the pe do lago pool the most as thats where you'll find the baby pool. we also loved the little bar up there, particularly the prices! 2 euros for a pint of lager! location wise its about a 20-30 minute walk down to the marina through a very pleasant path come jogging track, which we did most nights, however there is a little complex of bars and restaurants just up the road which are fine for those not wanting to venture in at night. there is also a good small supermarket up there which a far better than the spar you'll find in the private complex between oasis village and pe do lago. transport links are good, the tourist 'train' is a lot of fun for the kids and stops right outside the hotel, a taxi to the marina will set you back about 5 euros and the free shuttle to the beach is a great service although one extra run a day, post lunch, would be welcomed by most i'd imagine. for what we paid it really is excellent value for money.
Holidays in Calas de Mallorca are perfect in the summer for those wishing to top up their tans as temperatures reach 30° Celsius and beyond. Make sure you have your sun cream handy, as it will definitely be needed! Winter months tend to be a lot cooler and the weather can be more temperamental, with periodic rainfall and cloud. So make sure you pack suitable clothing regardless of when you plan on visiting this idyllic Balearic island.
