I am just back from my holiday at Parque Mourabel . I spent a week there with my sister and 6 children ages ranging from 9 to 16 years. Overall we had a great week and would recommend the hotel. I did have to move accommodation half way though the week. As I had booked a standard room which was in Parque Mourabel but there was no air con in the room and the room was dated ....it was very clean and meet all your basic needs , the view was of the car park and the accommodation felt a bit dreary ( room 18 ) so anyway I asked to be upgraded and eventually I was given room 117 in Pe De Lago and it was totally different ...it was spacious , modern , great view and air con ....it was a massive improvement. I found the reception staff overall very helpful ...in particular Bruno and Phillpe ...The pool in Parque Mourabel was spotless and the kids spent many many happy hours in there. The bar area was lovely and overlooked the pool , there was entertainment most evenings ...it was ok ish. There is a little train outside the hotel which goes regularly into the Marina ...great novelty for the kids and then a taxi back is about 5/6 euros . Overall we enjoyed our holiday and would recommend Parque Mourabel.

Parque Mourabel has 2 other complexes Oais Village and Pe De-Lago we stayed at Pe De Lago apartment 217 which was very good it had all you needed cooker, hobb, toaster, kettle, iron and ironing board, NO washing machine. The apartment was spottless it was cleaned everyday except on sunday towels were changed every second day and so were the beds, the staff in the Mourabel and Pe De Lago were so helpful and friendly its about a 20min walk to the marina and beach, down the road is Parkys bar which is good

We really enjoyed our holiday this year. We stayed in the superior apartments again, please spend the little extra money it costs to upgrade to this room otherwise I don't think you will enjoy the experience as much. The apartment we stayed in was much nicer than the pervious year, modern, clean, great views. The hotel manager remembered us from the previous year and made a top effort in advance of our stay by leaving us a little present and ensuring that we had the best view and room, which was a lovely and impressive touch. We did not pay for all-inclusive this year due to the bad experience we had with it last year, but we did visit the restaurant and ordered from the normal menu and they had a great selection at reasonable prices and it tasted quite nice. Once again I would definitely recommend hiring a car, it only cost us £80 by pre booking with enterprise this year. Without a car you would not have the same experience because the hotel is about 20 minutes walk from the marina and resturants and with the heat walking it is really tiring. The hotel were making upgrades to provide telephone and wifi service in the rooms, it seems that they are constantly improving things which is great but I imagine they will raise their prices soon. This year I did make the effort to go down and watch some of the cheesy entertainment they provided and actually it wasn't that bad, it made us laugh at least. The drinks at the bar are a lot cheaper than the Marian and it was nice sitting in the bar because the had the bifold doors open near the pool. To be completely honest after staying again this year i would always come back to this hotel especially because of what you get for such a cheap price. On the last 2 days we found Abroa restaurant, it's off the marina it took us ages to find it but it was the best food that we have ever tasted in our life and they offered amazing service. You will find it by walking down the first street on your right directly across the road from mc Donald's, you will see restaurants on your right and a bit further down you will see a strip club on your left. Once you see the strip club turn right down the road (strip club on the left, marina access ahead, road on the right) once you turn right, take your first right again (you will see a sign on the wall saying abroa) once you turn right you will enter a food court with about 6 resturants and abroa is on the left. Honestly we regret not finding this restaurant sooner, it was better than any restaurant that we ate at in Portugal and in the UK. If you hire a car take the time to visit the fishermans beach located near abuferia, it has fresh water rock pools and it's a beautiful beach with private areas for you to find. We also visited zoo marine and it made my holiday, we loved it and we are a couple in our 20s. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I havent wrote a review before but I was so pleasently suprised with the hotel after reading some down right awful reviews I thought I would take it upon myself to write an HONEST review of parque mourabel. I travelled with my friend (23) and I'm 20, so this is from a young persons perspective on the overall experience. Yes, you probably wont stay in parque mourabel by ratio as they own two other buildings. one a residential place which we stayed in, and one a hotel with a bar. We where put into the oasis village, standard studio. yes the rooms where dated, but traditional and spotlessly clean. Yes we didnt have air con, but i didnt even notice to be honest, a lovely cool breeze comes over portugal on an evening, making the room a pleasent temperature by the time you get into bed. Yes the maid service wasnt the best but it was adequate and we where constantly given clean towels and plenty loo roll, mixed with new sheets and a cleaned floor every day. abseloutely fine. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, but it is BEUTIFULLY PEACEFUL. not a peep to be heard, both pools quiet and clean, plenty of sunbeds and never a queue at either bar. beautiful. 3.50 for a vodka aswell, ideal! Its 5 euro to the marina, or a 30 minute walk. theres all your standard waterpark/ trips to various destinations, and you can do a day trip to albeurfaira for 25 euro with the hotel. brilliant. we had a beautiful week, we relaxed fully around the hotel, and kept busy with the nightlife in the marina. there is also a great bar named parky's just around the corner open till late, we left at 3 one night with no complaints. they play good music and theres a pool table. theres also loads of great bars open till late at the marina, with decent drinks prices. The staff where excellent, always helpful and honest, trying to assist you any way they can. i loved the hotel, and the whole complex. it was also a pleasent walk to the pool we prefered at pe do lago. the bar there sells amazing toasties, and again the drinks prices are good. If you want a busy bustling holiday right in the middle of it, dont go here. if you want to stay in a quiet place, with easy access into the busy areas when you fancy it, then im sure you will LOVE parque mourabel, and not want to come home. DONT LISTEN TO THE BAD REVIEWS.
