On the south west of the island, and reachable only by boat, Egremni beach is a beautifully secluded shore, perfect for a day of relaxation in the Greek sunshine. Nearby, Porto Katsiki is a stunning coved beach with terrific views, making it a particular hit with the tourists. In the north western region, Kathisma beach is a spacious shore with plenty of amenities, a fantastic choice for a comfortable day at the seaside. For the more adventurous holiday-makers, the Kalamitsi beaches may be harder to reach but worthwhile for the vivid blue waters you’ll experience.

Fly into Preveza (Aktion) Airport – it's just 20 minutes from Lefkada Town by car. The airport code is PVK and there are direct flights from the UK during summer (usually May to October). Lefkada is one of the easiest Greek islands to reach because it's connected to the mainland by a floating bridge – no ferries required. From the airport, if you're travelling light, or on a budget, you can take a KTEL bus (around €4, runs a few times daily but limited hours).
