FAQs

When's the best time to visit Benitses?

June and September are ideal – warm enough for swimming (25°C+), uncrowded and great value. July-August is hotter and busier with village festivals. May and October are lovely for walking and culture.

How do I get to Benitses?

Corfu Airport is just 11km away – about 20-25 minutes by taxi. For maximum holiday chillness, we can sort your transfers as part of your package when you book.

Is Benitses good for families?

Absolutely. The beaches are calm with clear, shallow water, and the village is relaxed and safe. The Sea Shell Museum is a hit with kids, and Achilleion Palace makes a great day out.

What's the nightlife like?

Laid-back rather than lively. There are cocktail bars and traditional tavernas for evening drinks, but no clubs. Benitses shed its party reputation decades ago – it's all about relaxation now.

Is the beach sandy or pebbly?

A mix – the main beach at Contrakia has fine pebbles and some sandy sections, while smaller coves along the coast are mostly pebble. The water is incredibly clear either way.

Can I walk to Corfu Town?

It's about 12km, so not really walkable – but buses run regularly along the coast road (around €1.50) and take about 20 minutes. Taxis are also easy to find.
