Safeguarding consumer choice in the travel sector

Millions of people every year choose to book their holiday with online travel agents like On the Beach because we provide choice, value and ATOL protected package holidays. Our consumer research tells us that these things are really important to people.
This, however, is under threat, because some low-cost airlines are behaving in a way that aims to restrict choice for consumers.
The issues are explored in our white paper titled Safeguarding consumer choice in the travel sector: Preserving fair competition, an urgent call for action, which has been shared with members of parliament, the government and regulators including the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).
The CMA needs to take action and we’re calling for a full review of the market to make sure that consumer choice and good value package holidays are protected. We’re also asking for mandated access to seats from low-cost airlines and for a code of conduct for airlines and online travel agents to collaborate and work together for the benefit of consumers.
We need your help! Please support our calls for regulatory action to protect consumer choice and good value, ATOL-protected holidays, by writing to your local MP. With our handy tool you can quickly find your local MP with your postcode and then send a pre-written email in a couple of clicks.
