When we arrived at the Green Nature Resort it was about 1am in the morning. The hotel was naturally very quiet and there were very little desk staff. We did have a bit of an ordeal getting into our...
We stayed here on our way around Iceland and we loved the wood themed rooms and how cosy and warm it was. The food was basic and little choice. The staff were friendly and helpful. Good overnight stop hotel.
wasn't a bad bad holiday but not the best we've had, booked in the main hotel paying a bit extra, but got there and was put in the club rooms, complained and got an instant transfer the next morning...
We were travelling anti-clockwise on route 1 and this was a strategic stop to suit activities we had booked. Not far off the route 1 it is very easy to find. We arrived at 8pm and the hotel considers this late - they request people arriving after 6pm call ahead to ensure they keep reception open. However this was no issue and they kept the chef on-site longer once learning we wouldn't have eaten. The staff were extremely helpful and very kind. The bar/restaurant appears to be used by locals - however this caused us no problem and there was no noise. We were offered a fish pie or chicken casserole - both extremely wholesome and reasonable priced. We departed very early the next morning to make it north for sunrise - they provided a packed lunch and some breakfast snacks though and this was highly appreciated. The room was styled on a log cabin and for the bill for what I would describe as traditional icelandic. Very warm and a fantastic bathroom (shower only but this is the case in most of Iceland). The bed was very comfortable and pillows numerous. Limited parking outside of the hotel is busier in summer but Briedelvik is a small village - I'm sure there is extra parking very close. This was a perfect stop of on our tour and brings a new standard in what could be called motel (however do not think motel when booking - this is a quality hotel!!)
I went on holiday for 2 weeks with family . I was mesmerized because there was loads to do It was all inclusive so free drinks for 2 weeks. On the downside in some of the photos it showed extra...
We stayed for one night on a tour. The hotel seems to be built in the style of a log cabin with wood cladding almost everywhere! The hotel sits in a quiet town and after our fairly short journey we struggled to find a great deal of specific interest in the area, but it's a good stop off as the next natural leg of the trip is Hofn which was a long drive. The town has a small cafe across from the hotel and not a great deal more. The rooms were clean and fine with a large bathroom that two can use at the same time. There is a large lounge with a couple of computers and Internet; I booked for the glacier lagoon from here and the receptionist kindly printed my booking for me. We ate in the the restaurant in the evening; everything was fine and not expensive by Iceland standards! the hotel served its purpose and is fine!
I was travelling in October with my husband and 10 year old son. the weather was fantastic - we were there for 3 weeks and there was only 1 rainy day - the last one. rooms were very comfy, not too...
Hotel Blafell is very nice hotel and not over priced as some of the hotels are in Iceland. Very earthly feel to the hotel due wood used in the entire hotel. Has great facilities like sauna and a room with nice hearth and comfy chairs/couches. Breakfast is good, pizza at dinner should be fresh instead of from fridge though.
Marmaris is pretty much permanently warm. Even winter days rarely go below 10° Celsius, and the height of summer sees the thermometer shoot above 30° Celsius. The water temperature is conducive to swimming in the light blue sea, and from May to October you're guaranteed no rain - so pack your Factor 30! One thing's for sure: if it's sun, sea and sand you want, Marmaris holidays are just the ticket.
