Our bungalow backed on to the golf course which was the most ideal position on the site, It was a very clean spacious bungalow that gave two adults a teenager and a five year old plenty of room. The restaurant had great opening times with plenty of choice and all the staff were very friendly. There's a free bus service to the beach which took approximately 15 minutes. Don't believe the bad reviews for this hotel.

We've just come back from a fortnight at the Jardin Dorado and found the hotel and all in all we had a fantastic holiday. As with everything there are good and bad points. I'll start with the good. Grounds - As you can see on photo's already on here, the hotel is a pool with three rings of bungalows surrounding it. All the bungalows have lovely little gardens, the outside of the bungalows are immaculate and the whole place looks fantastic, I was really impressed with the look of the place, it was a real pleasure to spend in the surroundings. Bungalows - Even though there were four of us (me, wife & 2 kids) there was plenty of space. I found the interior very clean, well presented and again a pleasure to spend time in. We really enjoyed putting the kids to bed and spending the last hour of the night sat outside reading, especially as we were on the outer ring facing a little lake on the golf course. Some of the bungalows are privately owned and I would be happy to have one myself as a holiday home. Food - Okay, the food choice is limited (but still enough choice) compared to the big chain all inc. hotels but the quality is one of the best we've had for all inclusive. We were wary before going as we could see the dining area was a lot smaller to what we've done in the past but there was no need to worry. Even after spending a fortnight in the bigger Riu's etc, we've always got bored of the food after 10 days, usually the last few days are a slog. Here we didn't have this problem. Drinks - Good quality all round, spot on. Lucy - Lucy is the entertainment at the hotel. She has to keep the kids and the adults entertained. She is running around from the morning to the last thing at night and she was fantastic. She has a constant big smile on her face, is always so happy. She made the kids holiday and as we were watching her one day I said to my wife she gives the whole place a lift. Lucy is a credit to the hotel. Now unfortunately the negatives. Information - There is none. When we arrived the man on reception couldn't speak English. He managed to tell us our room number and he made an eating sign and pointed around the corner. That was it. We spent the next couple of days asking guests the odd question and in turn we were being asked by newer guests. Also what makes this worse is that rules seem to change from day to day. When we first arrived there were plenty of people taking plates to their rooms or sunbeds from the snack bar, I did it (hadn't been told we weren't allowed to and it doesn't say anywhere) and got told off. After about 5 days being there they suddenly started removing towels from sunbeds which apparently had always been allowed before. This didn't affect me but I saw quite a few people angry at having gone for breakfast only to return to find the towels gone. Waiting/bar staff - This seems to be dividing opinion on the latest reviews. Yes, they are understaffed at this hotel. Also what doesn't make any sense is that each member seems to have to do a mixture of serving drinks, laying and clearing tables and taking drink orders all at the same time. Wouldn't it be easier to give each member a specific role to stick to? This is how other hotels do things, it makes life easier. Yes, it is very hot and yes I can understand it must be frustrating but I totally agree with the reviewers saying the staff are miserable. To claim otherwise is ridiculous. I've just spent two weeks looking at miserable faces, hearing moaning and making comments under there breath and in some cases being rude. To be fair some of the staff were fine but they have a few members ruining it. I was going to name but in the light of day don't think it's fair to be doing that safe at home out of the way now. My biggest gripe was I found one particular member of staff was rude and on times was being awkward which in turn was causing more hassle around him. Things like making people get up after they had sat down only to be moved to a table which was exactly the same, that caused lots of confused looks from guests. There were a few other things I saw which I wasn't happy with and on two occasions after eating my starter I just had to go back to the pool as I was getting that annoyed I didn't feel like finishing my meal. Funny enough when the nicer staff were on, although they were just as hassled and understaffed, it did run smoother and I did find the mood lifted. We always try and be honest in our reviews and I would say that without the service issue this hotel would be a 4 plus star getaway. With the issues and they are big issues as being able to enjoy a nice meal is a major on holiday, it does have to take away plus points and really as it is it's a good 3 star hotel, however I would return and just hope that if I did, next time they would maybe arrange for more staff.

Well first I have to say that I am a bit surprised with some comments I read before booking this Hotel, nevertheless I booked because I also like to make my own judgment and so I booked two Junior Suite Rooms for 7 days all inclusive for me and my family (4 in total). Before reaching the Hotel I was afraid that it could be a bad choice due to some comments but ….. well after 7 lovely days in this 4 star Hotel I can only say that some people are very very stupid when they make comments …. I could not find a single negative point for this great Hotel. Starting with the rooms/suites …. In one word …. impeccable …. lots of space, good furniture, and very well cleaned … and so many thanks to the cleaning ladies that let both rooms tidy every day. The restaurant and the bar is also excellent ….. you have a lot of different choices of food with good flavors and most of all a nice and friendly attendance thanks to the waiters Ricardo, Adolfo, Paco, Maria, Nayra and Delia …. to them a big Thank You from me, my wife and daughters. (Hope they can read this) …… There is only one message that I would like to leave to the owner of this Hotel ….. “Please get some more waiters because the ones you have are not enough especially during lunch and dinner time …. It is not because the ones you have are bad …. no not at all …. I could see them work like hell ….. sweating due to the heat and always “running” around with a happy and friendly face in order to please all the guests.” To end ….. this Hotel can be sure that if I can …. I will return no doubt about it. Thanks to all employees.
