I visited the Marina Torrenova week commencing 4/7/15. Let me begin by saying that the minute you walk into the hotel you have extremely warm welcome. A special mention to Jose who was always full of smiles and extremely helpful on taxi information etc. The staff overall in the hotel work extremely hard and do a wonderful job. We (my husband, myself and 11 year old son) stayed in room 704. The room was very clean and faced the road with sea views in the distance. Maria was the lady cleaning our room and she always did a lovely job. The walls were mentioned previously as being very thin and you could hear your neighbours, but to be honest we never heard anything apart from one morning when we heard the next door tv,, albeit feintly. The food on offer was lovely. There was never a day that we could not find something we thoroughly enjoyed. The breakfast offered a huge selection. The snack bar at the pool was great!! Chicken, burgers, salad, coleslaw, onion rings, etc, etc. I could go on. Drinks were also very good with name brand soft drinks and slush throughout the day. My husband did queue for sunbeds on one occasion, and due to this we then decided on a few days to go to the beach as there are a huge amount of sunbeds and parasols available. The cost at the beach for 3 sunbeds and a parasol for the us was 18.50euros. The hill back up to the hotel is not that bad, and does not take that long to walk up. There is a short cut with stairs down to the beach that cuts off a bit of the hill. And after indulging in the amazing food at the hotel, I welcomed the exercise up the hill! I cannot comment on the bottles being thrown as our room faced the road. We were only made aware of it when we came down to swim and the pool was taped off. On enquiring we were told of the glass. We went to Katmandu for the day which was fantastic. The upside down house etc. we also went to the western waterpark for the day. Yes the hotel is closer to Magaluf than I anticipated, but this I found was not an issue. Overall we had a fantastic week at the hotel and I would definitely come back. The staff are lovely and very hardworking, food and rooms lovely, and weather amazing. A week was just not long enough.........

stayed here for a week from 14th July 2015 we were a family of 7 staying in 2 rooms ageing from 6 to 54. Firstly what a lovely family hotel this is we all really enjoyed our stay, there were 1 or 2 minor niggles like the hotel next door 18/30 lads throwing glass bottles over into our hotel pool with no regards to hurting our children, but that wasn't the fault of the marina torranova although I would need reassuring that measures where taken so that didn't happen again before I would go back as I have read that it wasn't the first time that it has happened. But apart from that and having to que behind towels 7:30 in the morning (yes towels not people as people had put there towels in the que and gone back to bed) I would go back the hotel its self was clean the staff was very friendly and worked hard ensuring everyone had a nice time. When I booked I requested low floor pool view and 2 rooms next to each other and I was very impressed that the hotel met all 3 requests which I was extremely pleased with so I'd like to say thank you for that. The food at the hotel was lovely and I don't say that about any old thing there really was something for everyone and a reasonable choice The entertainment was fab and the bingo prizes was good too nearly £300 euro a night to be won and everyone could join in even my 6year old. All in all a good hotel don't listen to bad reviews..!

I'm just back from a week at this hotel - I went just myself and my five year old son. I spent a fair bit of time researching hotels in advance and the splash pool was what really attracted me to the hotel. The hotel was very, very clean with lots of staff. The reception was always very well staffed and the free wifi was great for me. You can ask for the free wifi each password each day and go online for an hour, that suited me to catch up quickly with people on What's App and to check any emails etc, I don't want to go on my holiday and be on my phone constantly! There were also packages which allowed you to buy wifi on a daily or weekly basis and the tariff was most reasonable at about 1 euro per day. The restaurant was open for around three hours at each meal and there was a dedicated kids buffet area although they were welcome to pick from the 'adult' section also. The food was grand, I suspect if you are an absolute foodie though you may be marginally disappointed. It was great for us though. There were two theme nights during the week we stayed there. We didn't utilise the Italian restaurant as I suspected it may have lots of couples and I didn't really want to experience it just with my son! The snack bar at the pool was fab! The food part was open 10-6 and had salads, meats and things like pizza, burgers, chips, onion rings etc. Beside it was a bar where you could help yourself to slush drinks, soft drinks, chocolate milkshake and it was manned so you could order alcohol, ice lollies, ice cream etc. there was also the option to buy crisps etc. The Thomas Cook rep, Jen, was brilliant. Very experienced and knowledgable and really approachable. I wasn't sure if I would utilise the kids club at all but felt, if I did I would opt for the Thomas Cook club over the in house one. How wrong was I! The three members of staff involved in the Thomas Cook club were not particularly approachable, they looked quite bored and were completely lacking in enthusiasm. The male member of staff 'Hotdog' was the best of a bad bunch. However, the in house club was incredible! The kids part had two girls: Emily and Charlie who were fab! The girls made an effort to learn the children's names straight away, offered a wonderful variety of entertainment and were so approachable. I had not expected to find this holiday particularly relaxing but these girls ensured that I did as my son was mesmerised by them! He's so full of energy as well so I hadn't expected that! The whole entertainment team were incredible! There is a screen in the foyer and in your room which tells you what activities are on when and their evening entertainment was brilliant, I had not expected it to be anything like the level it was. Our room was on the sixth floor facing the road/beach. It was fairly quiet. One thing I would say is that this is a family hotel but remember that families are all quite different! I wouldn't let my wee boy chat in the corridor late at night but was amazed at the noise some families made! That is nothing to do with the hotel and must happen everywhere! I hadn't realised how close we would be to the beach, I am not in the most incredible physical shape but we found the hill to be fine. There are loads of wee shops with a stones throw so you can get lilo's, water, souvenirs etc. There were three swimming pools each at a different level. I found that one pool was always in the shade but I'm not sure if that was just a fluke! My son loved the big pool which was too deep for him to stand in for most of it so I was a bit nervous about that one whereas he could access the other two himself - he didn't use the slides etc as much as I'd anticipated. The pools never seemed to be too full. The doors open at 8:30 each morning to go and 'book' your loungers. We generally left our room about 8:15/8:20 and queued for this as I was particular about the beds I wanted and I always wanted a parasol. The lifeguard does go round and puts cards on people's beds if they've not been there in an hour so there is always an option to pinch a bed and lots became free during the day anyway! One thing I hadn't anticipated was the smoking! People smoking on their loungers and smoking at the tables at the evening entertainment - there was plenty of ashtrays etc so this gripe doesn't lie with the hotel! I was completely unaware of the noise from the neighbouring hotel/apartments but our room didn't face that way. I would definitely revisit the hotel in future!
