Me and my boyfriend saying here last July for a week. On arrival we had been upgraded to a suite which was nice and unexpected. The room was clean, tidy but we did have an issue with the air con when we got there, we didn't know the air con turned off as soon as you opened the balcony doors. We soon figured it out. The Wi-Fi was average, turn off every 10mins or so and you had to reconnect but that didn’t bother us. The pool was quite which was nice, never struggled for a sun bed and the local beach was a 10min walk and restaurants were a 5min away. Staff were friendly when we ordered drinks at the bar but we never ate in the hotel. Two nights we were back early enough to see the evening entertainment, perfect for kids and we even had a little giggle too. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.

I stayed with a friend. Hotel was very clean, we stayed September and hotel was fairly quiet so perfect to relax around pool. Could not fault it. Brilliant location, 5 minutes walk to bars, clubs and main beach. Across the road from a cove. I've been salou twice, and it's my favourite place for a holiday so far. Amazing beach, lively, theme park and waterpark short trip away. Been with family on another occasion and will defiantly be going back.

We arrived in August 2014 for a 7 night stay at Salou Park. We arrived from the airport in the evening (around dinner time) and checked in. When we got to our room, we were hit by a damp and musty smell. I opened the patio doors and hoped that some french air would fix the problem. This was only the beginning of our problems... The bathroom was filthy - hair and dirt all over the floor. The bed sheets had blood on them. The floors in the bedroom were dirty and hairy. The wardrobes had thick, black dirt in the. The fridge was filthy. The chair had dirt, crumbs and hair down the side of it. The lamps were very dirty. I went to reception to voice our concerns and we were told a cleaner would go to the room. We waited 40 minutes, still no cleaner. Went to reception again and they sent a cleaner. After a very short time (10 minutes or so) we were told that the room was now clean. We went back to the room, it appeared that nothing had actually been cleaner but that the patio door had been opened further an air freshener sprayed. Back to reception we went. Obviously, by this point, it was late, we were tired and hungry and just wanted to begin our holiday. The staff were not helpful. Eventually, after seeing the room (from many pictures I had taken) the girl on reception found us another room. We went to the new room hoping just to unpack and enjoy ourselves. Unfortunately, this room smelled very strongly of urine, and was also very dirty. Again we went to reception, again a cleaner was sent. She was very rude, began shouting in Spanish (not realising that I speak Spanish) that we were "crazy" and that "the room is clean, there is no smell". She just sprayed air freshener around, and left the room by slamming the door. This was incredibly upsetting. All we wanted was a relaxing holiday. The next morning, we met with the hotel manager who told us that there were no other rooms that we could move to in Salou Park any of the 4R hotels. Obviously, after the experience we received, we didn't want to stay, we informed the manager that we would be making a complaint and we left the Salou Park. We complained and sent over 40 photos of the shocking standard of cleanliness with our complaint. We didn't even receive an apology. This IS NOT a 4 star hotel. I have stayed at many hotels around the world and this is not 4 star by ANY standard. We ended up checking in at another 4* hotel in Salou and there was a world of difference between that one and the Salou Park.

All the staff we encountered were very pleasant and smiley even though it was the very end of the season. We found the food to be of a very good standard and plenty of it. Chose to stay in top floor sea view rooms which were great with a fab view. All in all a lovely little trip, the only negative hence the 4/5 is that our last day was also the hotels last day so it closed at 10 am and we had to vacate the hotel, it was a lovely sunny day and it would have been nice to be able to sit at the pool and enjoy our last day. Would recommend at this time of the year.
Despite the number of sunny days that Salou basks in year round, the temperatures are not as intense as other destinations such as the Costa del Sol, with temperatures routinely ranging from between 20° Celsius and 26° Celsius from May until late August. The cooling breeze from the Mediterranean takes the edge off the worst of the humidity – perfect for working on that tan!
