Room was cleaned and fresh towels every day. Bath and toilet could do with being replaced with new. Balcony not cleaned, this could of done with a sweep as was covered in sand after we had a day at the beach. We found staff friendly and helpful. Food was very adequate something for everyone. Beach was only a short walk. A few local shops. Bus needed to go into Salou, you can get a ticket from the red ticket box for 15.5 euros, this covers 10 trips, ( each person = 1 ) we are a family of 3 so we went to Salou and back, then to PortAventura, Return from PortAventura we had to buy another ticket. PortAventura is a must but make sure you get a copy of your passport as otherwise you wont get in. ( hotel will do this for you ) Be prepaid for long ques. Also que's for buses, prepare for people pushing in and lots of shoving, they do not understand waiting in line for your turn. House of illusion is also a must, we got a taxi there and back, totalling around 23 euros, paying the extra 5 euros each for front row seat was great.

Hotel seemed ok upon arrival, then realised no room in the somewhat dated(but clean) room.We got a nice pool view to the front and a nice wiew of old underwear and vomit to the right of our balcony on the fire escape, which to my amazement was still there a week later!.Restaurant staff are lovely, food is just acceptable and no more,it seems very salty, tasteless and they do a good job of recycling leftovers from previous sittings.Bar is a complete joke because of the size of the beer glasses which are the same size as the shorts glasses, you need to queue everytime you want a beer,I hazzard a guess that five of these little plastic glasses equal a pint therefore you spend all day/evening in the Q.(limited to 2 drinks pp so if you have a child with you,you will have to join the end of the Q if you already ordered 2 little beers and you want a third drink for the child, unless you all go to the bar of course)Pool seems nice enough but uneven slabs everywhere and white sides of pool in need of repair. All in all,if id paid a couple of hundred quid for a cheap quick getaway I would probably have been ok with all of this but we paid nearly £700 each for what was meant to be a grand, beautiful "secret escape" holiday, well now I know why it is a "secret", as if id have known I could have had a five star hotel within the same area for the same or less money. My word of warning to all you good people reading this is,do not chance a "secret escape" holiday, make sure you know what you are going to.Now I will attempt to upload the few photos I took referring to above details.Oh and I almost forgot,we spent a further 500 euros eating and drinking out just down the road, quality fresh food and yes you guessed it Full PINTS.pps....almost forgot, jacuzzi on roof is nice, thought id found my perfect spot,NO KIDS ALLOWED!,fair enough but I wish id known previously.

Arrived at 14.00 for check in, the very friendly reception staff took our pictures over the head of others blocking the desk, gave us our room number then told us the room wasn't ready... "Wait over there" was the instruction. Half an hour turned in to an hour and half. Well at least this time gave me a chance to take in the que of people, taking it in turn to list there many complaints to the reception staff and the holiday rep. I settled back on the rather comfortable leather chair thinking well at least I was only going to be here for 3 days. Apart from that food is passable, just. Pool okay and staff in general while friendly all seem like they wish they didn't work for H Top. Also as is common with H Top Hotels the walls are thin.
