My sister, mum and I go to Benidorm 3 times a year, we have stayed here several times over the years, we just returned from an 11 night stay and this was the first time we went A/I. We had a fab time and price was great value for money. All the staff In dining room, bar, reception, were very friendly towards us. I often find that if you make the effort to be friendly towards staff they will respond accordingly. The weather wasn't great so we spent more time in the hotel than usual. Evening entertainment was fine, in fact better than in some hotels we have stayed in. Yes it is busy and noisy at weekend with spanish and French etc, and spoke to some guests who complained about their noise etc but surely as visitors we must accept that. After all it's their holiday as well is it it not! Food to suit all tastes no complaints. The rooms may be a little outdated but they are clean and in my opinion sufficient for our stay. Our cleaner was very efficient and always had a cheery smile for us.. We also had an old portable style TV in our room but didn't go on holiday to watch TV. One morning we saw maintenance outside our room in the hallway with large flat screen TV,s, I jokingly said "we will have one of those please" to our surprise when we returned to our room later that evening we had been given one. Overall we were fully satisfied with our stay, however I understand this is only my opinion and others may differ. If I had one negative thing to say it would be the cost of wifi
First impressions were disappointing as the room was small and rather dated with wood chip wallpaper and an ancient CRT television. Not a bit like the examples we had seen on the website. However...
Me and my mum stayed here for 1 week i must say reading most reviews the place seems good but to us it was very basic. Looks lovley from outside but inside and the rooms are very old fashioned. We stayed bed and breakfast and the food was disgusting. Very big variety but everything was swimming in grease the plates and glasses had not been getting washed correctly there was food still on them. The price for wifi is shocking 8 euros a day. This day and age wifi should be free like any other hotel i have been to. The ocas should be open at this time of year as it is a much nicer hotel than the pelicanos. The location is central very close to everything but coming to benidorm in february is not a good idea as everywer shuts around 7pm not many places to eat. I would not stay at the sol pelicanos again as there are nicer hotels in benidorm
My friend and I booked this hotel for us and the first thing we noticed when we checked in was the awful smell. It was just stomach turning. The automatic door wasn't working but has since been...
First impressions were disappointing as the room was small and rather dated with wood chip wallpaper and an ancient CRT television. Not a bit like the examples we had seen on the website. However, following a whinge next morning the TV was replaced with a big, brand new one. The food was good and plentiful though toward the end of out 10 days I was rather hoping for a bit more variety. The in-house dance team are real stars who put on a good show every evening but the true heros of the Pelicanos are the staff who kept the food and drink flowing and the place clean even during the weekend when the place was overwhelmed by hundreds of Spanish celebrating Valentines day. They obviously work very long hours but kept smiling to make our stay a pleasant experience. The management are doing themselves no favours by trying to charge a ludicrous 8 euros per day for a wifi password. The poor receptionists are embarrassed to have to tell people this. Even if I wanted to spend my whole holiday surfing, which I don’t, I still wouldn’t pay so much when there are internet cafes nearby . If like me, you just want to check your inbox and download the news, there lots of free wifi spots at other local hotels and at McDonalds. I couldn’t help wondering just how much revenue the Pelicanos generates in this way as opposed to how much custom they lose when much of the competition is offering free wifi. It is certainly a factor when so much choice is on offer.
Having fun in the sun is the image that Benidorm holidays conjure up - and it's certainly no myth! From summer temperatures hovering near 40° Celsius to generous January averages of around 13° Celsius, permanently clear skies mean you should pack your sunblock whenever you're coming, and hit those golden beaches!
As UK, Courses or boosters sometimes advised: hepatitis A (not normally for package tourists).
