Just sitting In the lobby. It's the only place to get WiFi there's none in the rooms but it's good quality. The hotel itself is lovely, the room is big with two single beds. Has everything you need. The reception staff are great. Can't fault them. Pool area is big with three pools. The food is ok very expensive tough. There is definitely a cat in the kitchen ever meal I had had a hair in it . That was the only downside other then that I really like the place its in the Venter of all towns. Would return !

Ok, so I read many reviews here before going and was worried. But it worked out well for us and we had a great week. Weather was really good for 6/7 days. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. English excellent. We got a quiet ground floor room facing golf course as requested. Clean and well equipped. Cleaners came 4 days out if 7 i think. We went with 5 and 3 yr olds who loved every minute. Sun and monday quiet with no entertainment. Kids club we didn't use till later in the week. 3 yr old didn't take to it at first but then he loved it on 2nd visit. Sign in facility but rules were a little lax. A little worrying but we were close by and knew many of the other parents by this time who also had kids in there. One man show, but he was really good with kids. Pool area clean and tho it could get busy we always found loungers. Pool Snack bar better than main restaurant and offered free wifi. Praia do vau beach a short15 min walk if u know short cut. Small. Praia do rocha huge amazing beach but a taxi ride. Alvor also a taxi ride and seemed much nicer buzz the night we went there as opposed to Praia do rocha. No hdmi cable in room and I had forgotten to bring one. Would gave been handy to show movies to kids from devices. Free wifi In the lobby. Not in rooms.

Was very disappointed with my holiday choice of accomadtaion had done my research had even contacted the hotel before booking 2 week stay in the Estrela do vau to ensure that the hotel was suitable for my two sons a 5 yr old son and 3 yr old. Was promised a kids club which it had was badly run after the following incident: The second day into our stay , my 5 yr old boy wanted to go the kids club in the morning along with his 3yr old brother. I signed them in, gave both my husband number and my own in the event we were needed. Thankfully I returned to the pool and was relaxing till 45 mins later the two little boys appeared by themselves as the 5 yr old had been instructed to take the 3yr old to his mother as he was looking for me . I was in total shock , to see they were left by themselves to walk from the play room through reception then out pass two big swimming pools looking for their parents without any supervision . Spoke to the director of the kids club , but didn't do anything about it. My two children were annoyed that I wouldn't let them back to the kids club after that incident. In my opinion I think you should improve /train the staff that run this kids club as they were away the fairies i.e not at all professional . They are not capable to entertain kids and look after their safety. Also poor child safety in the apartment room - no lock for the balcony my three year old could easily open , no main switch for the electric cooker where my 3 yr old son kept turning on. Boiling hot water in the bathroom taps where my son loved turning on when I wasn't watching . No life guard at the swimming pools. We spent our holiday trying to avoid staying around Hotel Estrela do Vau complex to avoid accidents, hence the cost of our stay was very expensive and we are very annoyed throughout the holiday with the conditions. The beech was a long walk with a buggy , the short cut was not suitable for young children. No good evening Entertainment at the complex for families, repeat shows , higly inflated prices for parrot/reptile picture snaps one week they were charging 5 euros for the reptile picture the following week it was 10 euros . Drink very expensive at the bar a small bottle of water costs 2euro. Karoke and the entertainment officer would blast up the music with an empty bar very annoying - impossible to chat and relax . No life gaurd at the pools very dangerous . Pools very dirty . Broken sun loungers and taken very early in the am Buffet meals very plain no good choice . The complex is good for older families and if you rent a car to get out of the complex during the evening as there is no entertainment . Receptionist staff especially Linda very helpful and nice to deal with .

We had a 10 day holiday in Estrela do Vau and we were family of four with 2 boys of 10 years old. The location is in suburbs in between Alvor and Praia de Rocha...could walk to Praia de Rocha 20 mins and beach 15 mins. Staff really helpful, apartment (1 bed) nice and cleaned every day, three pools and no problem getting sun loungers. We went half board the food was fine and same each week so for two weeks we were getting fed up of it towards the end. Great value and quiet over all at night which suited us. Some of the chairs at the pool were broken so would encourage hotel to replace. Large pool out of order a couple of days.tennis court, soccer court, table tennis. Nice people there, good site café where you could get lunch, snacks. An hour from Faro and staff at hotel could not be more helpful. Would recommend if you want a civilised location with calm atmosphere
