Sports & Entertainment
St Julians Bay Hotel is directly situated along Main Street which the popular Sea Front promenade is adjoining Sliema and the popular Paceville district, which has over the years developed into one of the Island’s most popular nightlife and entertainment spots. St Julians, Initially a fishing village, later transformed into summer residence for wealthy locals and now has developed into one of the Island’s mostly fetched resorts for night life, entertainment, shopping and commerce for all age groups. Of cultural contrast, St Julians still retains some of its old dwellings and boat houses whilst the small bay still shelters numerous coloured Maltese boats that are berthed here all year round. St Julians is a village for all ages and walks of life and without any doubt has become Malta’s number one tourist destination.

The young at heart will enjoy nearby Paceville - this locality offers much to tourists looking for nightlife entertainment, including discos, bars, Casino , restaurants and other entertainment. Here there are dozens of closed and open air bars, cafes, restaurants, clubs as well as beautiful beach clubs, literally packing the streets with life and entertainment. During the day and early evenings, Paceville also houses a large shopping centre, as well as many upscale shops around the popular Portomaso and Hilton Development along Ross Street.

I originally booked a twin share room but friend was unable to go so I found myself in a sizeable room with two beds, fridge, TV, air conditioning and shower/WC. The beds looked over the balcony to the sea and I spent a peaceful nine nights there. Breakfast for 6 euros was good - juices, cereals, many teas and coffees, variety of breads and rolls and toaster with jams, ham, cheese, cucumber, yogurts, cereals. Nearby - next door - were several good restaurants and a French bakery a couple of minutes away. Staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly - cleaning, breakfast room and reception - and I thought the cost of around $34 Australian per night was pretty good. Buses to Valetta stopped almost outside and ran every few minutes. There was an airport bus for 1.50 euros but I arranged airport transfers through the hotel for 22 euros each way. I've stayed in better hotels and I've stayed in ghastly ones, however, for the location and price I thought I got a pretty good deal here. Included in the nightly tariff was 6 euros to ensure a balcony room with a sea view and it was well worth this extra payment.

My wife and I recently stayed at the beginning of March, I was looking for a cheap hotel and this met the criteria. The views from the sea view rooms are wonderful, the staff were helpful and the room was neat and tidy with no frills. It is situated next to some excellent restaurants and main bus routes. On the down side we found the position of the toilet un usable unless sat on sideways. And the breakfast could be a little better but for the price I have no complaints. I always myself would I use this hotel again, and for the price I would.

Fortunately I spent in this hotel 2 nights only. I mean the staff is nice, breakfast OK, everything seems to be ok but than the noise from the street is horrible (its not that cars are problematic, the problem is that some car owners think they are racing and make a lot of unsupportable noise). The room seems clean but I dont use towels provided also it requires renovation- walls, furniture everything seems old and used. I wanted to work on my balcony- well the balcony was really small and ugly (with AC taking most of it). The hotel would be probably better in my eyes if I weren't to spend a lot of time in it- definitely if you use it only to sleep than its more than OK. I was sick so stayed a lot in the room and therefore saw some inconvinences. the wifi is a big +! the elevator is a problem, it wasnt broken but as it is small and not powerful it goes really slow and never is available. another problem was uncomfortable bed. double rooms are probably better. my rate is still 3 only because it is affordable.
