Looks great on the outside, but does not look like a 4 star hotel in the inside at all. The furniture is totally worn down, it is more like a 3 star hotel in my opinion. There is no free wifi, you have to buy internet access. However the food was really good, and the sea was just a few steps away from the hotel. You can't use the pool in the evening and it is closed all night. They have animation programmes all day, that made it difficult to rest. The programmes start early in the morning , and it lasts until 11-12 pm at night. Music is really loud and the entertainer lady's shouting in the microphone is quite annoying as well. I know some people love these kind of entertaining stuff. I actually went there to rest, so it was kind of a bad experience for me.

We had a great family holiday at the Oceanis. The staff were amazingly friendly and really made the stay special. The food was excellent for all-inclusive, and the view from the restaurant as the sun sets is worth the trip on it's own. The room was a little old fashioned, but thats a minor gripe, especially as the hotel is gradually revamping all the rooms anyway. There's plenty of entertainment with an animation team who make up in enthusiasm what they lack in experience. And there's a quiet pool in the back if that's what you prefer. All-in-all, recommended.

Tourist Information

Weather

Avid sun seekers will be happy as like most other towns on Rhodes, Ixia enjoys a good temperature in the summer months, with the hottest being July and August. However, those who don't enjoy extreme heat will welcome Ixia's almost constant summer breeze, which sweeps in from the northwest. This has the effect of counteracting the heat, and so cooling the temperature to a median of around 22 or 23°, so everyone can keep cool - and still get that bronzed tan! In the evening though, the coolness will be more evident, but you'll still need only wear a T-shirt when going out.

Most hotels in Rhodes have swimming pools, so for those holidaying with children, or for weak swimmers, using the facilities of your hotel may be advisable over visiting the seashore, when the wind can make the sea quite rough.

Jabs

All travellers are advised to ensure that tetanus and polio vaccinations are kept up to date. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required from all travellers over one year of age coming from infected areas.

Electricity

The power supply in Greece is 220 V AC at 50 Hz. You may require an adapter for the round two-pin sockets in use in Greece. Power cuts are not uncommon.

Visa

Many visitors to Greece will not need to obtain a visa for visits to Greece of up to 90 days.
