We stayed for 7 nights at the start of July. The hotel was very clean, nonetheless, the staff were not very friendly or helpful with not much more than a 'hello' on arrival and 'bye' on departure. Pool was OK however, there were not enough sunbeds and arguments. On the whole clean and average for the price.

We have just returned from the Agumar Apartments, we enjoyed our stay, but it was very uncomfortable at night as there was no air conditioning, so we bought our own fan, and a couple of days later they supplied a fan free of charge. The pool was very small in relation to the number of residents when the place was full up. The location was a bit far out a taxi is almost certainly needed. The food on offer was fair to middling, prices were high in the apartments, you can get a pint of lager for 1 euro when visiting other bars nearby the complex. We did not like the fact that you had to pay for the sun bed mattresses and umbrellas, we have never had to do this with other hotels/apartments. Probably better to visit here early or late in the season. Would we go back, no.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Aguamar. We stayed in room 426, top floor on a quiet (non road side) of the hotel. There were four of us in the room, 2 adults, 1 x 16 year old and 1 x 10 year old. We booked with friends (also 2 adults and 2 children) and we had asked for room close to or next door to each other and they were allocated the room next to ours (425). We arrived at the hotel around midday, check in was from 3.00pm but the rooms were ready. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful, check in was straightforward. The children were in the pool by 1.00pm. No problem with finding space around the pool or a lounger even at this time. Parasols and lounger mats/cushions were not provided, but you could hire these for 2 euros for the parasol for the day and 1.5 euros for the mat. There are signs to say no reserving the loungers, but people do. They are locked up at night and unlocked at 9.00am so need to be up really early to get a lounger for the day. The pool closes around 6.00pm (as in the lifeguard clears some loungers etc and leaves) but you can still use the pool after this time. The rooms are basic and clean. 2 single beds pushed together in the bedroom (we both had 1 bedroom apartments) and a sofa bed with a pull out bed in the living room. The bed that pulled out on the floor was not so comfortable, but not a huge problem. There is no air conditioning (we knew this when we booked as this was stated in the hotel details) in the apartments which is not a problem during the day, but it would be nice to have at night when trying to sleep as it was very hot. There was one fan provided in the bedroom, but this was quite loud when trying to sleep. Not many glasses in the room, eg. I bought a bottle of wine in the supermarket and there were no wine glasses in the room, I asked at the bar for a couple of different glasses for the room, and no problem at all the waitress gave me a wine glass and some tall glasses. We had booked half board, we had the breakfast each day, which included fruits, eggs (boiled / fried / scrambled), bacon, sausages (kind of like a frankfurter, rather than a British sausage), beans, chips!, variety of breads, yogurts, croissants, pain au chocolats (also with custard) - so plenty of variety. Drinks - Tea (variety of tea bags including fruit teas), coffee, cappuccino, hot chocolate, water (cold from machine), orange / pineapple juice (but more like a weak squash). We ate dinner at the hotel 4 nights out of the 7, there was plenty of choice each night, and always something for everyone, we choose to eat out only so that we could sample some different foods and to have a night out (as there is no entertainment in the hotel day or night - which was not a problem). We ate in 2 restaurants on the strip and on the last night we ate at the New Yorker Restaurant, which was 2 streets away from the hotel at Oasis Paserella Centre, fabulous meal here, a bit more expensive than the restaurants on the strip but very nice! Days out:- We went on the Maxi Cat (catamaran) from the harbour in Costa Adeje, fabulous day out, we saw loads of dolphins (no whales), food and drink included - food was paella and fruit (melon/pineapple), beers and soft drinks provided all day. 20 minute stop to swim in the sea, which was a great opportunity to cool off. Staff were great on the boat, we bought the DVD of the day 25 euros, delivered to your hotel the next day, great quality. Siam Park - Excellent day, booked through the hotel, free bus 5 mins walk from the hotel. Great water rides, although I would recommend wearing beach shoes, as the floors get really hot and you can wear these on the rides rather then with flip flops that you have to take off and leave at the side at the bottom. Jungle Park - Great bird of prey show, kids had the sea lion experience (55 euros each in addition to the park ticket, but they really enjoyed). Back to the hotel - drinks / crisps from the poolside bar are not cheap, approx 3 euros 50 for a beer/strongbow - 2 euros 80 for a soft drink - TIP! buy your drinks and crisps/snacks at the supermarket by the hotel, cans of San Miguel 60 cents / bottles of Desperado 85 cents / cans of pop 45 cents - keep these in the fridge in your hotel room and pop back and forth for them. Staff have no issue with you eating/drinking at the poolside things that were not purchased from the hotel. Wifi - purchased 1/2 a hour wifi for 1 euro as I needed to email my boarding passes to the hotel receptionist for her to print for us. The was a charge of 50 cents per sheet, we had 8 sheets but were not charged. Wifi not very strong in the hotel, but there are bars across the road where you can have a beer/coffee and use their free Wifi if you want to. All in all, fabulous time in the Aguamar, Tenerife - all staff extremely helpful and friendly and speak English really well so no issues in understanding anything that you ask them. Will definitely be back!

We have not long returned back from our weeks stay in these apartments, where can I start.... On arrival after checking in I enquired about a safety deposit box (which I have always known to be in your room) but was informed that they were in reception. Personally I found this extremely strange as it makes me feel like I don't have complete control over my own personal belongings.. But thought never mind maybe it works best here! The rooms were clean and fine in size but there was NO AIR CONDITIONING! Being there in what is more than likely one of islands hottest months, this was disappointing so I asked at reception whether they had the option of fans. To which I was told yes they did but it would cost me 17 euros for the week plus 20 euros deposit. I found this frustrating as many hotels without air conditioning usually offer fans free (with perhaps just a deposit). The pool area was nice in size however unless your prepared to get up early to reserve sun beds your chances of actually being able to be around the pool area is very slim. There were notices up around the apartments asking people to not reserve sun beds but this was not managed at all, in fact one morning just after 9 I went onto my balcony and took pictures of the pool area and every sun bed was reserved and I could count 5 people actually sitting on their sun bed!! The apartments offer Internet access and this is correct as long as your willing to pay for it and potentially always sit on the balcony when using it. We purchased 3 days worth in the middle of our holiday, was given our user name and password and took our iPad back to our room. I asked at reception whether it would work in our room and she told me that it absolutely would. When we went back to our room (which was on the 4th floor) we couldn't get it to pick up the wifi. That evening when we were on our way out a different lady was on reception so asked her as to why it may not be working, she then informed us that it doesn't always work in the rooms but will on the balcony. Due to where the signal is strongest. I then did make the comment that if I had known that would be the case I wouldn't of purchased it so she did refund me my money but I thought the lack of communication around this was shabby!! Overall the location is good, and I would definitely return to Los Cristianos but I most definitely would not return to these apartments.
