We booked here for 5 nights to celebrate having got engaged. From the minute we arrived we didn't have to lift a finger. We had a shared transfer (the only regret of the holiday as it took a very long time and there were a large number of drop offs before us), someone came to meet us from the coach and took our luggage for us, we went through to reception and sat at the desk where we were offered a drink, we both gladly accepted some Cava. We were taken to our suite, our request for a room with sun on the balcony in the afternoon was granted, we would have liked a sea view room but missed out on this as we booked quite late. The room was large, a bedroom with separate lounge area with table and chair and a large bathroom with a bath and separate shower. The fridge was also very useful. We stayed on a B&B basis. When we had buffet breakfast we ate in the "Yaiza" restaurant, the selection of food available is extensive and we felt spoilt for choice for breakfast. We also ate breakfast (at a small supplement) at Ilsa de Lobos on a couple of mornings, this was very nice as it was very quiet and a great views of the sea. They did at the time have a slight problem with birds trying to get any left overs from the tables. We also ate at Kampai (Japanese show cooking restaurant) one evening - we have never been anywhere like this before and it was great fun! The hotel is in a good location, there is a convenience store very close from the front of the hotel. The beach is easily accessed through the back of the hotel. If you turn right out of here you will find the older town with a number of restaurants, turn left and walk a bite further and there is a nice harbour with more restaurants. We wanted to do a few trip while we were there, I would advise booking anything as soon as you can as we couldn't get on some things. The hotel did manage to find us a private boat trip to join which was great. We went in mid September last year, it was quieter so the sun lounger problem wasn't quite such an issue, we did witness people next to us reserve loungers in the morning and then not reappear until 3pm. Highly recommended and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Just returned from another visit to this wonderful hotel. Having stayed a number of times before, we are always impressed by the high levels of cleanliness and maintenance at the hotel which considering its size is quite an achievement. Stayed in the one bed suites which have great size bathrooms with separate shower and bath with regularly topped up complimentary toiletries. The availability of a coffee machine was a nice addition this year even if the cost of the refills was rather steep. Breakfast is one of the best we have seen in hotels of this rating and the choice and variety is staggering - For a special treat try the a la carte breakfast in Los Lobos. less of a choice but with spectacular views and very peaceful!. Ate at Don Giovanni's a number of times where we enjoyed great service and atmosphere as well as Kampai Japanese restaurant which is a must! For us, the defining characteristic of this hotel is the charm and warmth of the staff. It is rare to pass a member of staff without receiving a friendly greeting and a smile. The personal service and attention to detail is very impressive. We have yet to find another hotel to match this, hence we keep returning....

Just back and couldn't fault the hotel. Had two suites beside each other on the fourth floor so I could have some peace from my 15 and 16 year old teenagers. Suites were very spacious and beds were perfect for me but my other half found them a bit too firm but all a matter of taste. Only gripe I would have with the suites we had was that the cleaning didn't happen until late afternoon, sometimes after 4pm which when you want to relax was a little bit trying but nothing to moan too much about. Given the size of the hotel you'd need an army of cleaners to get all rooms clean by 1pm. Didn't use the minibar much as the prices were frankly ridiculous even for a five star hotel, €3.50 for a small bottle of water. Same with the pool side snack bar at €18 for a baguette. Most people went to the supermarket over the road and bought the fresh rolls and made their own lunch. Hotel could do with reviewing the pool side snack bar prices as most people we spoke to would have eaten their if the prices had been more realistic as €72 for 4 baguettes at lunchtime was just too much. Need to get up early (before 8 am) to secure decent sun beds around the pool as the 30 minute rule is not enforced but most people were only gone for breakfast etc so most beds had their occupiers in place by 10am. Pools are very good and the staff are very helpful. Beach is just outside the rear of the hotel , very clean and spacious, couldn't be better for an hour of jet skiing or just soaking up the sun with a nice breeze. Breakfast was first class and the staff again are to be congratulated, very professional and always helpful. All in all a great stay apart from some small observations, would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a bit of luxury above the normal run of the mill 'suites' that some hotels advertise.
