We have just returned from two weeks half board at Playa Limones Bungalows (party of 4 in two bungalows, ages 74, 50, 41 and 14). We really liked the accomodation which is spotless. There is a maid service five days out of seven each week. It was very convenient having a fridge to put drinks we had brought at the supermarket into and milk for tea and coffee. There was no kettle but we used the coffee machine in the bungalow to boil water (remove the filter if you want water for tea). We found that mosquitos and biting insects were in the bungalows and flies were a bit of a problem under the canopy by the pool so would suggest that you used insect repellent plug ins/sprays and had bite relief available! The gardens surrounding the bungalows are lovely and the whole complex is very quiet and relaxing. The three pools are cleaned most days (one of the larger pools is colder than the one nearer the reception but when the weather is really hot, it's not a problem). There was never any problem getting a sunbed around the pool as a lot of the people staying preferred to use the beach or stayed on their sun terraces, popping down to the pool for short periods when they wanted to use it. Some days my son and I were the only people in the pool in the afternoon! There is a large canopied area by the pool if you prefer the shade. There is no entertainment at this accomodation but we knew that when we booked and it meant that we spent more time actually talking to each other and playing games in the evening. We also really liked the Restaurant Casa Joaquin at the bootom of the road which leads down to the beach - very friendly staff and the mojitos are fabulous!!! There is free wi-fi at Playa Limones but only available near to the reception and download speed is quite slow. On the downside, we didn't really enjoy the food - none of us are fussy eaters and i generally ignore comments about food when looking to book as it has never been a problem for us. However, the half board offering at this accomodation seemed to be done on the lowest budget possible - they were only catering for just under 40 people and yet the fish and vegetables were sloppy and overcooked. The salad offering is pretty much the same every day and the scrambled egg offered at breakfast on a few occasions tasted like it had been stuck to the pan each time! On the plus side for the food, the chicken and the roast meat offered was very nice although one night each week, rabbit was on the menu which isn't to everyone's taste. As it is a smaller accomodation, there is not the breadth of variety that you come to expect in a larger place. Most nights there was one meat dish, one fish dish and a pasta dish although not always a vegetarian pasta. What I really didn't understand is why fresh melon or pineapple wasn't offered for dessert more than once especially considering that it is more readily available in the Canaries - the fruit on offer for dessert was more often than not tinned fruit. When fresh fruit was offered (ruby grapefruit and oranges and melon (once) it was absolutely delicious). Overall, we would stay at this accomodation again, but would probably opt for self-catering instead.

We have not long returned from a week at Playa limones apartments, family of 4 me my partner and 2 sons (age 6 and 13 years old) and we all had a lovely time. Ignore the bad comments because I could not find anything wrong with it, unless I was to nit pick at tiny none important things. We were in bungalow 54 it was lovely, enough space for all of us, great outside space with its own table and chairs plus 2 sun loungers. Also a small like court yard area out the back of the bungalow with a washing line to dry your clothes off...it was perfect for swimming shorts and towels. The kitchen, dining living room area was nice with a sofa chair and dining table area. Bathroom was very clean and the shower was ideal. The bedroom has 2 single beds which were very comfortable. My 2 sons slept on a sofa bed and a fould out bed in the living room area. It did get very warm in the bungalow but not unbearable. Having both doors open in the day you got a very nice breeze through the bungalow. The pool are was lovely.. Very clean and didn't get too busy..very relaxing. Enough sun loungers, but on the days there wasn't the beach was 2 minutes walk away. This was a lovely beach..€12 for 2 loungers and an umbrella till 5pm. You can leave your towels on the go for something to eat and come back with no hassle. Over all everything was clean, tidy and all staff were so very friendly at Playa limones apartments. My sons felt very comfortable here..we all did. Yes the food wasn't always what we liked but we didn't starve and what we did like was very nice. The staff at meal times were very friendly and very nice. There is no entertainment but that didn't bother us,plenty of restaurants and bars a short walk away. I read about ants.. Yes we had some on our porch but didn't bother us, I swept them away. As for moscitoes..well I took advice from here and bought plug in repellent,(they were not expensive) it worked none of us got bites at all...but to be honest I hardly noticed any anywhere.. Only one in the bathroom one night. The excursions are great and we'll priced. Only advice is for Texas rancho go at 9.20 rather then 11.20 we ran out of time, we needed all day there, was still a great day out though.. Just the children needed more time for the water park area. I would definitely recommend playa limones apartments if you want a relaxing quiet break in a lovely family friendly accommodation in a beautiful resort which has everything you need within walking distance. Will definitely be returning.

We have just come back from a week at the Playa Limones Bungalows in Playa Blanca and must say how impressed we were. We booked Playa Limones on a budget and expected just that - but in our opinion got a whole lot more! We arrived late on the 19th July 2015 to find the Reception was closed (reception is open 9am until 9pm). Taped to the reception door was our 'Welcome Pack' which showed our apartment number and how to find it. Instructions included asking us to return to Reception in the morning to check in. The apartment was already open. We were in apartment number 12 which was to the back of the complex (there are only around 50 to 60 apartments in total so it is easy enough to navigate around). The apartment looked exactly he same as the others - patio to the front with a table and 4 chairs. There were also 2 loungers too. Double doors lead you in to the lounge / kitchen area - settee big enough for 3 and a single chair, coffee table and cupboard / drawers set with TV. Further back, a table and 4 chairs. Kitchen sink, toaster, coffee machine, 2 ring hob (NOTE - the hob timer needs to be set for the rings to heat up), fridge. Above and Below, ample cupboard space and enough plates/cutlery/pans etc. No Kettle though (see below for more). Off the main room, a large-ish bathroom with Toilet, Sink and Shower. Across the 'hallway', a bedroom with a large wardrobe and 2 beds. To the rear, a small enclosed area with a washing line where towels etc can be hung. We also had a single bed in the lounge area, as there were 4 of us. Beds were made up and sheets/pillows etc provided for settee to be made up. In th morning, we went back to reception and checked in. Nice and easy process, greeted by a cheerful lady who was very welcoming. We requested a key for the safe which was in the bottom of the wardrobe. The Safe costs €15 per week plus an refundable €20 deposit. Our holiday included Breakfast - the breakfast room it to the left of reception (behind the bar). Access is via the folding door just next to the Pool table at the back. Breakfast was OK and included coffee, tea, juice. Loads of bread, yoghurt, and oranges / kiwi. A range of Cereals, cold meat, cheese, tomato, cucumber. Bread and Toaster and hot food. Hot food changed daily but rotated through Bacon, Sausages (hot dog style), Fried Eggs, Boiled Eggs, Potato Croquets, Aubergine (?). The cooked food was a little greasy but it didn't stop me enjoying my daily Bacon and Egg (or Sausage and Egg) baguette :) The last running the breakfast room was welcoming in and polite. The breadkfast room can get a little warm! In the centre of the complex, behind Reception and surrounded by the apartments are 3 pools. 1 is fairly shallow (maybe 2 feet), the other 2 are 6 feet deep. All were very clean. The temperature of each was just right - not too cold and not too hot. The pools are surrounded by ample sun loungers, the majority under a covered area, the others arranged around the pools. Outside the breakfast room is a pool table (€1 per game - watch out - the white ball is has seen better days but this didn't stop out children). There are also chairs and table arranged so you can sit and enjoy a drink. Large beer is €3 each from the bar. Maids clean the room every day except Mondays and Saturdays and will change towels when required (just leave them on the floor). Bedding was changed twice a week. The whole complex was very clean and tidy - really cannot complain - we loved the place! Out and about - walk out of the complex and straight across the road, down the hill to the beach - less than 5 minute walk. Down at the beach are supermarkets and a few restaurants. When at the beach, turn left and walk along the beach front to Playa Blanca - approx 15 minute walk - lovely walk any time of the day! Couple of tips: 1. It gets very watm in the apartment but open the front and back doors to get a lively breeze. 2. The mosquitos like to bite at night - use plug in repellers and wear repellent - I didnt and got bitten to death! 3. The shot glasses are just the right size for decent ice cubes for the other glasses. 4. You are asked to vacate the apartment by midday on the day you leave, but our flight was not until 8.00pm. We were able to continue using the apartment for €25 - easier than watching your luggage constantly!

Ok so a bit about what I like, peace and quiet, clean, shops and restaurants within walking distance. If you like that stay here. Me my wife and 18month old son stayed here is June, after reading pathetic reviews on this from people slagging it off with silly reviews I still decided to go, your bungalows are cleaned every day apart from Friday and Monday and the cleaners are friendly. There is a spar shop within walking distance and restaurants. Across the road down the hill you have a lovely beach with crystal clear water. I'm very clean and tidy and you can't fault this place it's so peaceful would definitely go back. I read a bad review saying you had to get to the reception to get wifi as you can't get it in the bungalow yes this is the case but remember your on holiday you can live without Facebook in your life!!
