This new hotel is built in the resort of Playa Blanca and located on the coarse sand beachfront Las Coloradas between the Village Playa Blanca and the Papagayo Beach in the south of Lanzarote. Informal & relaxed, this is a great place to escape the crowds. From the hotel you can enjoy the excellent views of the islands of Fuerteventura and Lobos and some of the most spectacular sunsets of the area can be viewed from each room-terrace. Nightlife is relatively low key. There is a selection of restaurants on the promenade.

Just arrived home after spending a week at the Sandos with my hubby. We emailed the hotel prior to going to ask for a high floor and pool view and that's excaltly what we got, "what a view" pool/sea view looking onto the walkway that takes you to the Marina and further on to Playa blanca . The rooms are very spacious and have a Spanish feel, bathrooms have double sinks making it easy to get ready. I was worried we would get a hard mattress but we got a massive bed with a memory foam mattress which was so comfy. I used the hairdryer in the room as it was so good never got mine out of my case. Air con worked well but we really never used it much. There are three pools to chose from all with plenty of loungers which you could get anytime of the day but if you needed an umbrella these soon went. We loved that you couldn't reserve the sun beds as I hate getting up early to do this. Drinks were help yourself either from snack bar or pool bar waiter service, wine, beer, fizzy drinks. Water, juice all help yourself, my only complaint was I would of liked better drinks ice tea is my favourite but they don't have it, or fresh juices from cartons. Water isn't bottled its from coolers so we used a bottle I'd brought with us to fill up. Snack opens at 11am bit late I thought if you needed a drink, this serves burgers, hot dogs, pizza, salads, chips, and at 4pm fresh cooked pancakes. International restaurant Food at this hotel is fantastic and so much choice , breakfast is anything from full English to pancakes, toast, cereals, fruit, omelette, pastries, or continental breakfast. It's help yourself to juice tea or coffee you soon get into a routine of doing this. Machine juice is not great Apple is drinkable. Lunch I loved my chilled out lunches sitting in the new outdoor dining area it has umbrellas for shade and is just lovely. Evening meals again eating outside lots of choice from salads of every kind, meat / fish pasta cooked to order in the Italian pizzas etc Always a special pudding each night and a hugh fruit flan which I loved, ice cream and if your not full cheese and biscuits. Coffee machines always working for after your meal Three different wines to choose from Rose and white very drinkable also Amstal beer very good. I would of loved a jug of Sangria but never saw anyone having this at the hotel. We booked the Mexican and Orinental restaurants for a change both were very good with lots of choice, Orinental dishes could of had more flavour, spring rolls were lovely. I liked how you could eat in these restaurants but still use the international restaurant for pudding and coffee after as it stayed open until 10pm. We walked to the Marina one morning took us a slow 30 mins to get there, it's very nice with shops and restaurants We walked to Papagayo beach twice bit of a trek but so worth it when you got there beautiful, walking shoes a must as it's a very steep walk down. We thought it was just like cornwalls beaches but with sun!! Be aware far side of beach is nudist. No facilities at beach so take your own water. There is a free bus from hotel which takes you to playa Blanca it drops you off Playa Dorada beach which is so beautiful with clear blue sea, we absolutely loved Playa Blanca with its long promenade to walk alone lots of bars restaurants and shops, one end is the harbour with the ferry that takes you to Furetventura lovely to sit with a drink and watch the world go by. We loved our week in Lanzarote and look forward to coming back very soon.

We knew the area well and decided to visit this hotel. We were delighted with the cleanliness, staff friendliness and standard of food. The outdoor eating area in the international restaurant is great. The heated pool was good but the baby pool could have been warmer. We have been to several 4star all inclusives and this is the best we've been to. It is quite a walk along a beautiful walkway to the marina but it's worth being this far out of playa blanca for the hotel and the dramatic scenery of the sea and papagayo headlands. Taxis are easily accessible and cheap. Hotel rooms large and clean. We weren't Royal elite so can't comment on that. We had toddlers with us and the play are is small and ok but nearby there is a great play park. We never struggled to get a sun lounger or a table at either bar or restaurant.

Just back from the papagayo,my wife and I,our second visit in as many years, they have made excellent changes that really do come up to scratch, new outside dining area and new seating area with outstanding views.we did not go royal elite as we viewed this as money not well spent, you are paying for a sea view, fizzy wine in your room on arrival, goodie bag with sun hats and slippers which we received anyway,so money saved(£200) was well spent outside hotel at restaurants, bars and market, this was money well spent.the hotel itself is spotless, the food in the main restaurant and Italian very good, not so keen on the Chinese and Mexican. All the staff are lovely and try to make your stay memorable and relaxing, with one exception the reception, they are just not people friendly, need to go on a course I think.all in all a very good all inclusive hotel , if that's your thing l would recommend papagayo.

We opted for a junior suite that gave us the Royal Elite package. The suite was spacious, well appointed with a fantastic sea view. Overall the food was very good with plenty of choice. Plenty of available sunbeds at the pools with no need to reserve. The Royal Elite lounges lacked atmosphere and reminded us of an airport executive lounge. The entertainment was family orientated as is the hotel. The staff were friendly, professional and extremely helpful. The friends we travelled with had a problem that the manager sorted out quickly and without fuss. Overall, value for money for a hotel in a great location that is ideally suited for families. However if, like us, you prefer an adult / couples only holiday this may not be to your taste.

Tourist Information

Cheap Playa Blanca holidays are more or less a fixture for tourists the whole year round, thanks in no small part to the consistently warm Lanzarote temperatures - consistently hot, that is! Hot it may be, averaging around 18° Celsius in December and 26° Celsius by the summer, but sultry breezes, courtesy of the trade winds, mean you’re never flustered. Having said that, ensure you have your sun cream on at all times to protect you from the sun's rays.

As UK, Courses or boosters sometimes advised: hepatitis A (not normally for package tourists).
