We have just returned from a week away at the hotel Sol Lanzarote and couldn't fault it. We booked the hotel and flights separate so got a really good price for a family of 3. The hotel is about 10 mins from the airport so you don't have to mess around with coach transfers a taxi will cost you about 12 euros. All staff are extremely polite and friendly and the entertainment staff are great, my daughter who is 8 loved the variety of entertainment provided day and night. Room was cleaned daily, with fresh towels if required. The hotel is situated on the front with the beach just across the road, if you are looking for something different to eat there are an abundance of cheap restaurants to suit everybody's taste and the main town is a stones throw away. As we didn't book through a tour operator we didn't know about what places were on offer to visit. The hotel displayed various leaflets. We enquired about going to the nearby waterpark and was able to book direct at the hotel reception for a great rate and was even given the option of the bus to get us there for 3 euros each return. Very helpful.

Visited sol lanzarote for 10 nights in July this year, overall was very happy with all aspects, hotel was fine, rooms could do with a little updating, paid for a sea view and could see the sea there were other rooms that wasn't looking over the pool before the sea, a little picky on that though. The food was very good plenty of variety each day although like any all inclusive you want a different setting once or twice, and plenty of cheap bars/restaurants. The hotel was very clean and have no complaints about hotel and staff were very friendly. The pools and entertainment for the kids were great and loads going on each day. The hotel is in a quieter part of lanzarote which was perfect for us and only €5 in a taxi to the busier porta deal carmen. Would visit again any year as was very happy. Could do with free wifi though!!

Stayed End of July for two weeks self catering. The room was great and cleaned every day. We did not eat at the hotel as it seemed more geared towards the all inclusive guests but that was OK. The food looked fine. There were no bugs , the air conditioning was not great but adequate. We thought the wifi expensive but our daughter was happy with the free wifi in the bars and restaraunts. The pool area very large but once again spoilt by people reserving sunbeds early and not using them until mid afternoon. Families reserving them for little kids who spend all day in the pool. There must be a solution. All in all the hotel is a very good hotel. The staff are all friendly and when we had any problems (only with the safe twice) it was repaired within ten minutes. Just a tip concerning towels , a notice in the bathroom reads that if you want them changed leave them on the floor. When we did they were changed. For those who self-cater and eat out ,we found a few nice restaurants in the square just down the road , Ki Ke steak house and the one next door were excellent, these are in MAtagorda and there are many in Porto Del Carmen , albeit they are mostly Italian , Mexican , Chinese and Indian cuisine. We had a great holiday.

Fantastic hotel. 3 good sized swimming pools all at different lengths. Facing the beach the middle pool being the kids pool, the left hand being adults pool and the right hand pool being the very deep pool. Water fountains are great when they are turned on. Only issue with the pool is the lack of safety. One life guard patrolling all 3 pools with blind spots and the fact one kid nearly died there when she started drowning says it needs to be reviewed! Our room was lovely and modern. I cant comment on other rooms. Our room (3303) seemed to be a refurbed room. Lovely view of the sea and right hand pool. Good sized balcony. Nice sliding door separating the rooms so our boy could sleep while my wife and I could stay up longer if we wanted. You have to get up and silly o'clock to reserve a sun bed though but that happens at every hotel in the world so it isn't really a negative. I simply went down about 7am, chucked some towels down and went back to bed. Simple. Plenty of entertainment in the pool though the day but not too much for the moan merchants who moan about anything that is a bit loud. Water polo, kids games, aerobics, inflatables, water carpet etc... They even put on a foam party which was good fun!! Mini disco most nights and face painting etc... Reptile shows, bird shows, cheesy in house disney show. Everything you'd expect but only one negative with this hotel.... THE FOOD! I would not feed this food to our dog. The slimiest, greasiest and utterly disgusting dishes they put on offer every day is disgraceful. Other then that its great. I recommend self catering if you do go here, although I've heard its changing to all inclusive only so hopefully the food improves drastically. Theres some good food places either side of the hotel if you leave by the beach. We were forced to eat out a few times because I just couldn't face the horrible stuff they tried to feed us. A good place to eat is the pizza and steak place in front of Spar. A good meal for the 3 of us come to about 45Euro. The food and life guard situation is the only thing stopping me giving this hotel 5 stars. Come on Sol Lanzarote, a child nearly died on her first day on holiday due to your safety. It really isn't acceptable making your life guard change the bins through the day whilst he is on duty!!
