This was me and my partners first holiday abroad, and what can I say. the rooms where clean and tidy the cleaners did a fantastic job, the beds are okay not as comfy as you would like to expected. the food was okay , only problem was very repetitive, after two weeks you new what you would eat before you even went in, could do with a little mix up. facilities very basic, no kettle, no remote for TV or extra's, could be provide at reception for a purchase though. pool was a nice size not to big/small. and not to deep great for people like myself who are not great swimmers. then the entertainment, what is to be said, Katy Jane and stu.. are absolutely crazy but lovable, great games really tried to involve every young or old, (killer darts, splash bingo ect) not to pushy I can not stress enough at how good this duo is and are an asset to the Thomas cook team and the ficus hotel, my only complaint about these two is Katy mixed me up with some one and gave away my Superstar certificate for speed pool (hope she reads this and see!!!!! haha) because of these two it really gives you the chance to meet other guest and I meet some great people while out there. will be recommending this hotel to friends and family, and I hope to return myself to lanzarote and the ficus. Richard&Kat (cliff Richard-nick named by Katy Jane) p.s thank you stu for making Kat do the splash bingo because she forgot to tell you it was my birthday. oh stewie she's nearly there!

Just returned from The Ficus after a one week stay on an all inclusive basis. I firstly would recommend getting a taxi from the airport as it was only 20Euros and we were at our dinner when the people from our flight was just arriving. On arrival we were given all details from a very helpful and informative Manager. The food is basic but cooked very well - you ain't chewing for hours on a peace of meat (Know what I mean !!) Plenty of fruit selection, and I believe everyone is cared for. The catering staff NEVER stopped - one minute you would see a woman taking you empty plate away then you would see the same woman serving drinks in the bar - they were all very friendly, very chatty and very helpful. The location was not up OUR street, but that may suit everyone else as you have a five minute walk to the Spar then down the main street towards the main square would take a further ten minutes, may suit certain people (not my missus though). We met a lot of lovely families and the friendliness around the complex is awesome - everyone looks out for each other and you get to know who's children are who's, makes it feel a lot safer. On departure we extended our room to 3pm for 15Euros, when we were leaving the Manager called a taxi for us - it didn't arrive in an acceptable time - so the manager called the taxi company AGAIN to chase them up for our taxi - Good Guy. The entertainment staff - Katy and Stu - If you can get almost 50 people to play splash bingo around the pool side then do the couchie wa, couchie wa - they done their job right. FANTASTIC !!!! Great stay, would recommend.
