This place made summer for me. I have experienced all inc elsewhere, but the quality here is excellent. Thank you to all the staff who made this a holiday to remember. We emailed in advance to request a particular room and were replied to immediately. The food was immaculate and plentiful. The drink was cold and free flowing. The rooms were huge and we took advantage of them many a time! Thanks for your hospitality and hope to return a few years from now.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks in July. The hotel is 4 stars, however, I would personally give it 3. The hotel is ok for a family holiday. The rooms are old but spacious, the beds are not very comfortable. The A/C works, but it does not keep the whole room cool. There are plenty of pools to choose from but most are very crowded. However, the kids liked them. There is also a big playground for children. The hotel is close to the beach but you cannot see the sea from the hotel. You cannot swim in the sea as the beach is full of rocks. It is an approximately 20 minute walk to Corralejo city, where there are plenty of shops and restaurants. We stayed all inclusive. The main restaurant has a wide selection of foods and the food is quite ok, not brilliant, but nothing to complain about. The waiters in the main restaurant are very friendly, but in the pool cafe where you can have snacks etc. during daytime, the service is actually quite poor and unfriendly. The hotel area is kept very clean and the pools are thoroughly cleaned every morning. The hotel is pretty much what I expected, but nothing more. It is perfectly ok, but I did not get excited or positively surprised about anything. I would rather stay there for 1 week instead of 2. And if I would visit Fuerte another time, I would most likely choose another hotel.

Please ignore the negative comments, that people seem to be posting!!!! We have just returned from our 2 week holiday, my family consisted of myself and my Husband, my son aged 15 and a daughter aged 19, and I can speak for all of us and say we had a great time. Hardly saw my Hubby and Son during the day! As they got involved with all the activities available to them, my daughter and I took part in Yoga/Pilates every morning at 10.30 and it was a great way to start our day. The animation team worked extremely hard, all day and into the evening, and we made great friends with them all during out stay. OK their shows were not West End standard, but they were excellently put together and full of energy. We found both specialist restaurants great - we had a huge lamb shank at the Spanish restaurant I couldnt finish mine - ok there was lots of fish and salad in the main restaurant, but hey we are not in England we are on our hols and thats what we like to eat!!!!!! We loved our early evening Sangria in the Lobby Bar everynight before we walked down to our evening meal. OK we went before the schools broke up, due to the ages of my family, I coiuld see it being a bit chaotic during the hols. I must pick up on some negative points that others seem to have picked up on. Yes people did get up at god knows what time in the morning to secure a sun bed, however there was always a large number kept locked up which were released at ten o clock by the lifeguard, which we always managed to squeeze in. WIFI was never ever a problem with us, and I have two children, who were constantly talking to friends back in the UK, so I know that is correct! Our room was lovely, kept spotlessly clean by the maids and no insects insight. We also never had a problem with our showers, in fact I wanted to bring ours back home. Corralejo is a lovely town, which we walked too and also took a taxi, approx 4 euros. You much visit the Cocktail bar Agua on the sea front, best cocktails ever tasted!!! Great staff, and perfect attention and presentation to the cocktails, who after our first visit came over and greeted us the next few times we went, we just couldnt keep away from the cocktails!!! In all we had a great holiday and met some lovely people. Would I go back again, yes I probably would.

3rd time at this resort with a 5 year break in between so good to do a comparison. Parts of the hotel are exactly the same as they were 5 years ago with some other cosmetic changes over the years and change of use of some of the pools and areas to adults only. Still very much a family resort though and plenty for the kids to do. Ours are 11 and 9 and although they don't go in for kids clubs any more, the animation team (who are quite superb) were round the activity pool encouraging kids to get involved in competitions and games throughout the day. They thoroughly enjoyed the activities. Food is still good with plenty of choice and something for everyone including our kids who are very picky at times. We booked the 2 bed apartment which was fine. Could maybe do with an upgrade and makeover but still very clean and multiple maid service including towel change, bed linen change etc throughout the week. I have seen comments about air con but ours was fine so can't comment on what other guests encountered. Entertainment every night at the Plaza area and theatre. Not something I particularly enjoy but from what I saw it looked entertaining enough and the kids enjoyed it which is far more important than my views. If they are happy, we are delighted. The town is an easy 15 minutes walk away or 3-4 euros by taxi if you prefer. Town is not brash and more than enough activity to keep holiday makers amused. Couple of points for travellers. We have been to many places throughout the years and transfers from the airport have been a bit of a lottery. We booked a transfer via Viva Tranfers and they were excellent. Cheaper than everyone else and good vehicles and drivers who had no aspirations to be a F1 driver, which is a bonus. Booked a car in the resort through Alonso car hire on the Main Street. Had a look before we left the UK and prices seemed to be a bit pricey. Booked a convertible jeep through Alonso and saved £25 on the comparative UK price. And last tip. We booked our holiday separately for flights and hotel and saved £500 on the high street package price. Hotel is paid for on arrival and not weeks in advance with your money earning interest for travel companies. Doesn't work every time but certainly worth a bit of Internet research to see what you can save. I would have no hesitation in recommending this resort and hotel to families. One very slight niggle of mine though is paying for the use of a safe. Hotels have duty of care for your security and safety and this should include the use of the safe. Might be something for the hotel management to consider for the future.
