We have just returned from a 2nd trip the Atlantis and another wonderful holiday. Out room 3101 over looked the pool outside the main restaurant was ideal as my friend is disabled. I emailed to say we were coming and requested a ground floor flat which we got. We were looked after by Thomas the guests manager and what a wonderful job he does. nothing is too much trouble. On arrival in our room we found a basket of fruit and a bottle of wine a lovely touch. I must admit I am not over fond of the main restaurant and there were too many children for my liking but, there is a adults on section. and it was not the hotels fault about the children. The staff are fabulous Carlos in the Asian restaurant is a star and Enrique in the main bar is also a star. We both agree (my friend and I that we will return to the Atlantis and once again want to thank all the staff that make everything so easy for all the guests. Thank you Thomas once again you are a genuine gentleman and I hope to see you again very soon. Well done the Atlantis Suite your great

We travelled 11th to 18th April with Thomas Cook. Journey was uneventful, apart from a slight delay boarding at Stansted due to "Cabin Crew geting to the plane late" and failing to open the plane doors, despite the airport staff opening the gate and sending evenyone towards the air bridge. The transfer from the airport took around 45 minutes. Check in at the hotel was quick and smooth. We got allocated a ground floor room near to the main restaurant. It was fine, but first impressions of the room weren't "wow". The rooms are quality with dark wood furnoture etc. but bathrooms are slightly dated, and our terrace overlooked a brick wall, so private but not picturesque. The main bedrrom had an nice LG TV that includes BBC1 and 2 as well as music and news channels. The sofa bed for our twins was good - effectively two singles. We used the pool nearest to us by the stairs to the Gaudi restaurant and the main pool. These were both heated, but the main adults only pool near the spa is not. Food was lovely, and we enjoyed both speciality restaurants. For breakfast and lunch there is a choice of using either the main "Gaudi" or restaurant nearer the main pool. We also ventured out to the beaches near the sand dunes (by the RIU hotels that you pass on the way in to resort from the airport). These are spectacular. A taxi to get there is around 6 euros and can be ordered from the security hut at the entrance to the hotel. We also walked along the coast to Carralejo harbour and the beaches en-route. The beach on the way in to town has peddaloe rental (8 euros for half and hour) as well as kayak and paddle board rental. Good points about this hotel are: Food generally Proximity to stunning beaches (but not it is not immediatley on the beach and rooms don't have sea views) Room servicing was great - we were kept spotlessly clean and had towel changes whenever we wished The entratainments team who are friendy and work hard, but leave you alone if you don't want to participate. Areas for improvement are: Internet - forget about all the "Connected" guff. Internet connection was intermittent in our rooms and even in the lobby painfully slow. Even posting a FB status update was hit and miss. I guess you have to remember you're on a small island mid Atlantic.... The entertainments sound system - compared to ther mini discos it sounded like it was being broadcast from the bottom of a bucket! The information sheet from the hotel is full of mis-information - such as the all-inclusive ending at noon on departure day (it doesn't for Thomas Cook), having to pay for pool towel cards (we didn't, but we did have to chase to get them), the internet only being free for half and hour (this isn't the case either but you do need to register within half and hour of logging on) etc. etc. Note also, that whilst not the fault fo the hotel, the area is surrounded by incomplete hotels and a mothballed retail complex - presumably the result of the economic downturn, but not very attractive. Weather was great for our stay. No rain, and mainly sunny, but not too hot.

I saw only one recent disappointing review in regard to the Atlantis Suite before we went. I thought the reviewer must have been harsh, but I now find myself agreeing with her. And the one or two disappointing reviews in the past seven days. When we arrived we given a room adjacent to the tennis courts. There was a really bad sewage smell on approaching the apartment. Even more disappointing was the fact that our view from the balcony was solely of the roof and extractors of the main pool bar. We requested another apartment and to be fair to the management team were given one. The apartments are a good size and decent quality. The maids were fantastic and cleaned and changed every day. In regard to the WIFI I agree with the earlier reviewer. It's a shambles. You connect to the network after some delay to be cut off fifteen minutes later to be informed that you have reached your limit for your stay. If you wish to connect again you can purchase it. You can use the computers in the main reception. But you might have a similar problem. I found them to be unusable. The speed was comparable to dial up from ten years ago. I tried twice to use them and ended up walking away they were that slow. Incidentally, the mobile reception is also very poor, though that's not the fault of the hotel. The swimming pools are good. The one next to the gym / spa is adult only and is usually quiet. I believe the infant pool is heated and from what I can gather the other heated pool is in the Premium Section. The animation team are fantastic and there's plenty for both kids and parents to join in with. The gym is is well equipped with good opening hours. The tennis courts and the football court are good but the set up is poor. You can book them at the shop on the complex, not the reception. Tennis is 10 euros per hour including balls and two rackets. Football is 5 euros per hour. However, you need to book early morning or the previous day to secure either. You'll walk past the courts most of the time and they'll be empty because whoever has booked them has decided to carry on swimming, or to go into town, or whatever. They really should introduce a pay and play policy. The main restaurant is disappointing. It's more like a canteen. Completely enclosed underground with only the frontage having any windows and natural light. Overall the food quality is very good. But it was very monotonous. Although there are fantastic salads and starters and pizza but the main course available was always the same: fish in a sauce that was full of bones or meat. Good quality but just boring. It says in the hotel blurb that they have several theme nights each week but I can't recall any variation. There was a great selection at breakfast but if you went for the english breakfast it was luke warm to cold and needed heating up in the microwave, especially the scrambled eggs. There was a selection of smoothies which was a treat but the general juices available throughout meals were not fresh but cordials. Small things that make the difference. For example, not once did I use a salt and pepper that worked. Try it and see. And if you want a beer with your dinner you'll need to use a ridiculous pump that just delivers a glass full of froth. There is a small notice beneath that explains you need to run the pump for about ten seconds before the beer will come through. I lost count of the amount of people that would try to get a glass of beer and then just leave it on the counter. Just small things that could easily be changed. You need to book for the two theme restaurants. We didn't try the Chinese but we did try the Spanish and it was so so. The decor is great but the food was mediocre. The BBQ platter was awful. Just previously cooked meats that had been thrown on the grill to give the appearance of being freshly cooked. Dry as sawdust. Overall a nice, clean hotel with good quality food. But for me it was not four star and the facilities that are advertised were not all available. Do not include the heated pool in the Premium Section in the hotel description unless it's accessible. There were six bars but out of them only three were open during the day. The main poolside bar, a smaller bar next to one of the smaller pools and the Premium Section bar. The bar next to the gym was never open and the lounge bar - Enrique was excellent - near reception was open only in the evenings, as was the main bar in the plaza area by the main restaurant. A few tips. You can order a taxi from the security at the main entrance. Town is about 4 euros. You can walk it in about ten minutes. Head out of reception, continue straight down and turn left and carry on. If you want to get to the top of the town go straight down, turn left, and then turn right and continue on. There are two markets. One is on the Saturday next to the waterpark at the top of the town. Loads of leather goods, t shirts etc. The other is on a Tuesday beneath the small clock tower at the top of the town. Much smaller and mainly local craft goods. The on site shop is extortionate. You buy whatever you like from the supermarket to the left just outside reception. Cocoa beach is a real disappointment. Flag beach further down is spectacular. Head out of the reception, continue straight down and then turn right and carry on going. Or else exit via the gate signed for cocoa beach and turn right and carry on. A taxi is about 5 euros. There are two little beach bar huts on the beach. The bloke in the first one is miserable. Continue to the second. Really nice people. Even gave us all free sangria. You can hire sunbeds at 3 euros each for the day, and a parasol for the same. Be careful you don't get burnt by the wind.

I travelled here with my partner in July 2014 and upon arrival we had a little wait for our room so we were given our all inclusive bracelets so we can grab a bite to eat after the journey, we were also given a map as the resort is so large. After a day or so we found our way around without a problem and loved the room facing the pool. The room was large with a good size bathroom, TV, Lounge area and double bed (two singles together). So to some up the good points - the bar staff were amazing, they made fresh and tasty cocktails in fact all the staff were incredibly welcoming. There is an adult only pool! This was brilliant for me as I don't swim and having no children splashing around in the water made it a lot easier to go in. You must book two of the evening restaurants which is no problem and I would say worth it as the food is made fresh to order and not a buffet style like the main restaurant. There are five pools here, a pool bar, snack bar (for lunch also the Asian restaurant on an evening). The evening entertain was ok and was different every night. We went at the right time as towards the end of the week we saw it getting busier. I would definitely recommend this place as it created some wonderful memories for me and my other half.

Tourist Information

Corralejo enjoys year-round sunshine and very little rainfall. Average daytime temperatures vary between 16°C at the start of the year and 25°C during the peak months of July and August.

If that sounds a bit too hot, or if you're visiting with younger kids who are more sensitive to the sun, try taking a Corralejo holiday outside of peak time - perhaps in October or February when the island still enjoys mild weather of around 23° Celsius, so a tan is still possible! The island also receives mild north-easterly winds all year round, so you’ll receive a welcome breeze whatever time you visit. Take particular care during peak season, though, as the breeze can disguise the strength of the sun.

As UK, Courses or boosters sometimes advised: hepatitis A (not normally for package tourists).
