On arrival at Costa Portals Hotel we were greeted by two very obliging reception staff. We had booked a four night all inclusive stay and after taking our details one of the staff showed us to our room. The room, although substantial, was front facing with a street view so I asked if it were possible for an upgrade to a sea view room. At a cost of €10p/n it was definately worth it. The second room was slightly bigger with a balcony and as it was also on the first floor, the balcony was bigger than those on the above floors to accommodate two sun loungers. The air conditioned room had twin beds and was adequately equipped for an all inclusive hotel i.e no cold drinks or hot drink facilities but one can get theses from the bar downstairs. The adjoining showeroom was equipped with a hairdryer which my partner informs me was surprisingly powerful. Nice, bright room although it looked tired, poorly decorated and no attention to cleanliness. However, decorating is my profession and my partner owns a cleaning business so we can be a bit picky!! Also it's my opinion that the hotel refurb is ongoing and therefore the rooms should get their facelift throughout the next year. The restaurant and bar area have recently been refurbished. Each sitting offered ample selection of food. Breakfast offered a choice of continental, hot buffet and cereals. For lunch there was a choice of salad bar or hot buffet and desserts, then evening mealtime offered same choice with different selections and was always beautifully presented. The restaurant and bar staff couldn't do enough to help and were fabulously entertaining. The pool and surrounding areas have been renovated and look much better than the photos we saw before travelling. However, when the hotel is full, there is an inadequate amount of sun loungers but my partner and I are 'beach bums' so this didn't pose a problem to us. The local 'Playa Pequeña De Portals' is a short 200mtr walk downhill with a beach bar and souvenir shop that sells everything from Agua to Fridge Magnets! The walk to the beach is certainly a lot easier than the walk back! The hill is very steep and not suitable for elderly travellers. The area of Portals Nous is quite an affluent area dotted with beautiful villas and with the harbour in the adjoining Puerto Portals makes for some lovely evening walks. For the more adventurous who prefer the nightlife, Palma Nova and Magaluf are a short bus or taxi journey away but are far enough not to affect those who prefer a quieter life!!! Overall, I will definately use this hotel again and in fact I'm just planning my return visit in September

On arriving at the Costa Portals Hotel it quickly became apparent that this was a quiet relaxing place to spend a week in an idyllic location (exactly what I had hoped after all my research). Check in was a joy and we were soon able to start our holiday in sunny Portals Nous. I must now mention all the very hardworking staff here, they work long hours and are mostly friendly at all times. Bruno the bar manager was particularly memorable, always had time for a chat whilst efficiently serving drinks. The hotel itself is in an elevated location allowing the majority of balconies/terraces a good view over the sea from the back of the hotel which is where most of the rooms are and the sun is from early afternoon until sunset. Due to the location it is a very steep hill back up from the beautiful little beach, but well worth it. Three points to note... 1) The ridiculous wardrobe! One half includes the safe and is too short to hang anything longer than a childs t-shirt (This is an adult only hotel!!) 2) The bathroom needs more lighting as there are no windows in the majority of them. 3) The food is just okay, a little bland and very same old same old all week!! But it is beautifully presented and always replenished quickly (Desserts are great though!!) The beds are memory foam and are very comfortable, the air conditioning works well as does the wifi (€10 for the week) The safe is €17 plus a €3 deposit. Would I recommend this hotel? Yes definitely! - for a week or two to chill out in the sun, if you don't mind folding your clothes instead of hanging them and are prepared for the usual sunbed stampede in the morning!! (as they are chained up most nights, hilarious watching the hideous behaviour from our balcony!!) Didn't affect us as we do not use them. Majority of the guests during our stay were from the uk. Stayed as a couple 21st to 28th June 3* hotel no more no less....at the end of the day this hotel does exactly what it says on the tin. Ignore the bad reviews!

My wife and I stayed at this hotel from 27th May until 10 June we had 14 days of great weather the hotel is child free so its nice and peaceful the staff were great, the room was cleaned daily along with fresh towels the bar staff were always very friendly and never had to wait long to be served the breakfast was excellent but sometimes the food at lunch and dinner was not very hot this problem could have been easily solved had there been a couple of microwave ovens as most hotels have them there were plenty of sunbeds and we were always lucky enough to get a parasol as there wasn't enough for everyone but that's a common problem with some hotels the hotel is situated in a very hilly area but has a great small beach a few hundred metres away and the marina at portals nous is a small walk from the beach the hotel is only 10/15 minutes by bus to Palma or Palma Nova so its very central we would stay at this hotel again and would recommend this hotel for someone who wants a quiet restful holiday.

I have never left a review before but really wanted to about this hotel. This was our second stay at the Costa portals and we will definitely be going again. Being an adult only hotel it is very laid back and peaceful. Pool area is lovely and the whole place is well kept and very clean. We stayed B&B and the breakfast was spot on. Plenty of choice everyday. The small beach down the hill is lovely we went there everyday and finished off with a dip in the pool which was lovely. Our room was cleaned and towels changed evey single day. The marina is about a 10mins walk away and is worth a visit. The bars and resturants down there are nice but expensive compared to portal nous town. i would reccomend this hotel and resort to anyone looking for a laid back relaxing holiday in the sun.
