Things To Do on Holidays

Holidays in St Pauls would not be complete without a visit to its 16th Century church and the underground catacombs. For the children, the Splash and Fun water park is only a short distance away and they'll enjoy Popeye Village too where the film starring Robin Williams was actually made. Most of the main shops can be found in the neighbouring resorts of Bugibba and Qawra although for more sophisticated tastes, you may wish to make the relatively short journey to Sliema or Valletta.

Things to do: Culture

St Pauls is famous for being the location where the apostle Paul became shipwrecked which led to Christianity being introduced to the island. Its church and catacombs are well worth a visit as is its Old Town or you may care to visit the capital Valletta.

Things to do: Nightlife

Most of the nightlife in this area is to be found in nearby Bugibba but St Pauls itself is a gastronomic delight with some of Malta's finest fish restaurants situated on the harbour as well as having a nice small selection of quieter bars and cafes. You'll also find a cinema, bingo hall and casino in Bugibba if you fancy an alternative type of night out.

Landscape

St Pauls is an idyllic place from which to base your holiday to Malta. Its tranquil and traditional setting with its pretty harbour with lots of colourful fishing boats more than makes up for its lack of beaches but if it's lazy days on the sun-kissed sand you're after, Mellieha is only a few kilometres away and, with its blue, shallow waters and lifeguards on duty throughout the day, it's perfect for all the family.

Golden Bay with its reddish sand is another beach alternative close by and is more popular with watersports enthusiasts. Swimming and snorkelling can also be done from the rocks at one of St Pauls three small harbours.
