When to Go

Peak season. The beach is packed, the nightlife is at full throttle and hotel prices are at their highest. August is the busiest month as Italian visitors arrive en masse. Book well ahead.

🌸 Spring (April - May) | 16-22°C

Warm enough for sightseeing and outdoor dining, though the sea is still a bit cool for swimming. Hotels are much cheaper and the old town is lovely without the summer crowds.

🍂 Autumn (September - October) | 18-26°C

September is brilliant - still warm enough for the beach with fewer crowds and lower prices. October cools off and the beach season winds down, but the old town stays lively.

❄️ Winter (November - March) | 5-12°C

Quiet season. Many seafront hotels close. The old town stays open and has a different charm - Christmas markets, fewer tourists and cosy restaurants. San Marino is a great winter day trip.
