Prague 9 is an outer district to the northeast, centred on Vysocany and Prosek. The headline landmark is the O2 Arena, Prague's biggest indoor venue for concerts and ice hockey (HC Sparta Prague play here), which makes Prague 9 hotels a practical base if you're in town for a gig or a sporting event.
The district is residential and modern, with none of the historic character of the central districts, but metro Line B (Ceskomoravska, Vysocanska) puts you in the Old Town in about 15 minutes. The Freezone indoor go-karting complex is out here too, a popular activity for stag groups.
Hotels are among the cheapest in Prague. The right pick if you're visiting for an O2 Arena event, want the lowest possible room rate, or are on a longer stay where the nightly saving adds up. For sightseeing-focused trips, the central districts are a better fit.
