🌟 Paguera Highlights

πŸ–οΈ Three Blue Flag beaches connected by a palm-lined promenade – Playa Palmira is the main event, Playa Tora's got the watersports, and Playa la Romana is the quiet one

πŸ›οΈ Bulevar de Paguera is the main drag – shops, restaurants, leather goods (the town's famous for quality shoes), and enough ice cream stops to keep everyone happy

πŸ‰ Boat trips to Sa Dragonera island leave from the harbour – a nature reserve with hiking trails, a lighthouse, and thousands of friendly lizards

🏌️ Golf de Andratx is just 10 minutes away at Camp de Mar – including Spain's longest hole, the infamous 609-metre "Green Monster"

πŸŒ… Watch the sunset over the Malgrat islands from Playa Palmira with a drink in hand – proper magic

πŸ—£οΈ Local Lingo

Catalan (MallorquΓn) is widely spoken here, alongside Spanish, with English used everywhere tourists go. A few phrases go a long way:

Hola – Hello

Gracias – Thank you

Una cerveza, por favor – A beer please

La cuenta, por favor – The bill please

Bon profit! – Enjoy your meal (Catalan)

πŸ–οΈ Best Beaches in Paguera

πŸ–οΈ Playa Palmira – the main beach and the heart of the resort. A wide stretch of soft golden sand with calm, shallow water that’s ideal for swimming. Backed by the promenade, so you’re never far from restaurants, bars and ice cream stops.

🌊 Playa Tora – just next door to Palmira, slightly smaller but just as sandy and swimmable. It tends to be a little quieter, making it a great alternative if you want a more relaxed beach day.

🌿 Playa La Romana – the smallest and most tucked-away of the three main beaches. Surrounded by greenery with clear, calm water, it’s perfect if you prefer a quieter, less crowded spot.

🏝️ Cala Fornells – a short walk or drive away, this rocky cove is all about crystal-clear water and snorkelling rather than sand. A great pick for a change of pace from the main beaches.

πŸŒ… Santa Ponsa Beach – around 10 minutes away, a larger bay with plenty of space, watersports and beach bars. Ideal for a full-day trip if you fancy mixing things up.

πŸ›οΈ Where to Stay

Paguera is compact, so like S’Illot, you’re never far from the beach. The choice is more about the kind of holiday you want.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦ Families

Families tend to stay near Playa Palmira or Playa Tora for the easiest beach access and widest choice of restaurants. Hotels like Valentin Reina Paguera offer pools and entertainment, while the flat layout makes it easy with kids.

πŸ’‘ Couples

Couples lean towards the beachfront or quieter edges near Playa La Romana. Secrets Mallorca Villamil is the top-tier adults-only option if you want something more polished.

πŸŽ‰ Groups

Groups usually base near the boulevard for easy access to bars and restaurants. Paguera isn’t a full party resort, but there’s enough going on for sociable evenings without needing taxis.

FAQs

How do I get from Palma Airport to Paguera?

Paguera's about 35km from Palma Airport – roughly 25-30 minutes by taxi or transfer, depending on traffic. We can sort your transfers when you book with us to make your life easier. Or, if you're travelling light, there's also a regular bus service (line 102) if you fancy saving a few euros.

What are the beaches like in Paguera?

Brilliant. Three Blue Flag beaches with soft golden sand and calm, shallow water – perfect for families. Playa Palmira is the biggest and most central, Playa Tora has watersports and a pine-tree park, and Playa la Romana is the quietest. All are connected by a lovely promenade.

Is Paguera good for families?

Absolutely. The shallow beaches are ideal for paddling, there are plenty of family hotels with kids' clubs and pools, and day trips to Katmandu Park and Jungle Parc are easy. It's a bit quieter than some Majorca resorts, which suits families down to the ground.

What's the nightlife like?

More relaxed than Magaluf – think cocktail bars, live music venues and the odd karaoke night rather than mega-clubs. The Bulevar has plenty of options for evening drinks, and if you want to go bigger, Magaluf's only 15 minutes away.

Can I go hiking from Paguera?

Yes! The surrounding hillsides are brilliant for walking – pine forests, coastal paths and access to the Serra de Tramuntana mountains. Ask locally for trail maps or just follow your nose into the hills.

Is Paguera hilly?

Parts of it are – many hotels are built on the hillsides above the beach, which means great views but can be tricky for anyone with mobility issues or pushchairs. Check your hotel's location before booking if this matters to you.

What's Sa Dragonera?

An uninhabited island nature reserve just off the coast – you can take a 3-4 hour boat trip from Paguera to visit. It's famous for its hiking trails, lighthouse and thousands of friendly lizards (the island's named after them – "dragon island"). Former pirate hideout, too.

How do I get around Paguera?

The main resort is walkable – everything's along the Bulevar and promenade. For day trips, there are buses to Palma, Santa Ponsa and Andratx, or you can hire a car to explore the island properly. Taxis are easy to find.
