Covid-19 destination updates

Last updated June 17th, 2021

Find all the information you need about travelling abroad from the UK here. We will update this page with the latest COVID-19 information for your chosen destination, as well as what you’ll need to do upon your return to the UK.

What is the travel traffic light system?

The Global Travel Taskforce has introduced its risk-based travel traffic light system for holidays. Based on the Coronavirus data from each country, destinations are classed as Green, Amber or Red, with specific quarantine and testing requirements associated with each category, more details as they relate to each destination can be found below.

Local destination entry requirements

It's important to keep in mind that the traffic light system is only an indication of the UK Government's travel restrictions and requirements, and that local rules and restrictions may vary from country to country. We would always recommend that you check the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office website before you travel, as well as the International Air Traffic Association website for specific local guidelines.

Failure to comply with local requirements could mean that you are refused admission unless – or until – you meet the necessary requirements. As an On the Beach customer, it is your individual responsibility to comply with local restrictions. Further information relating to this can be found in our terms and conditions.

Destination list

Currently, a pre-departure COVID-19 test will be required for all people travelling from the UK, regardless of the destination country. To find out more about the different COVID-19 testing options available to you, visit our COVID-19 testing before you travel page.

Please note that you must have proof of a negative COVID-19 test to travel to England from abroad. Please see the government website for more information.

The UK Government has announced that there will be a further review of the traffic light ratings during the first week in June and thereafter every 3 weeks. As soon as we have more specific information we will contact all customers with affected bookings. If you are due to travel to a Green or Amber destination between now and the date of the first review then your holiday is going ahead as planned. For all customers who are due to travel to a Red destination in that period, we will be contacting you to discuss your options.

For a complete and up-to-date list of all countries and their categories please visit the GOV.UK website.
