On the Beach Cancellation/Amendment info

Confused by cancellation fees and amendment procedures? We often get asked about how these processes work and the fees that go along with them too. Don’t worry, were here to answer them! We decided the write this article to explain how our cancellation and amendments procedures work and help customers in understand why these changes can sometimes be so costly.

Cancellations:

When you place an order on our website, our system will check availability and book your holiday directly with the airlines and hotel suppliers. Once you have made a payment and confirmed your booking this can happen in a matter of seconds.

We pay the airlines upfront and in full for your flights, regardless of whether you’re paying for your holiday via our deposit scheme. Most flights are unfortunately non-refundable with the airline and therefore in the event of a cancellation, we would not be able to recover any of the flight cost for you. This means whether you placed your order with us 5 minutes ago, or 5 months ago, you will still need to cover the cost of your flights in full.

Hotels are a little different as most will allow cancellations outside of a month of travel.  In the event of a cancellation, we do our best to recover as much of this cost for our customers as possible. Unfortunately, this is based on the individual policies of the hotels and suppliers and is not always in our control.

Amendments:

If you need to make a change to your booking, in most cases fees will apply. Sometimes when making changes to your flight, these amendments fees can seem very high. Unfortunately, the majority of this fee is paid directly to the airline meaning it is entirely out of our hands.

We would recommend that you triple check the details of your booking before submitting it to avoid having to pay these kinds of hefty fees.

Customer protection with ATOL

As a member of ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents), all of On the Beach’s flight-inclusive package holidays are fully protected under the ATOL scheme. So you can book with confidence through On the Beach, knowing you’re fully covered in case of an emergency.

What if the government advises against travelling to my holiday destination?

Booking a package holiday means that you are covered by the Package Travel Regulations. If after you have booked a package holiday the government advises against travel to your chosen destination, then you are protected. In these circumstances we will try to find you alternative travel arrangements but if that is not possible, or you do not want to accept the alternative arrangements, then you will be offered a full refund.
