We hired a private apartment from owners direct. The complex is very well looked after, lots of hills to walk up so if you have trouble getting about then beware. There is not a great deal of things to do outside of the hotel, a couple of local places to eat, Sunset & Ocean view, both were nice to start but then we had bad experiences so stopped going there. You can get the dolmus into the local village down by the lake for 2 lira and there you can find 4-5 very nice places to eat. The dolmus is 40 minutes away from bodrum and costs 7lira each. Personally I would use this place again, but not with the kids.

These apartments are lovely and provide really good facilities. There is a good mini mart near by, a few good restaurants: sunset, panorama, beach restaurants and fish restaurants in givercinllik. Sunset and the other resorts will put on shuttles to transfer you to and fro so although it is set on top of a hill so everywheres steep you don't need a car. Taxis and general living costs are so cheap it's not a problem. The resort is quiet and although good facilities and nice bar, there is no restaurant on complex. The other issue we had was there were no cot facilities for our toddler which made night times bit difficult but we should have planned ahead and brought one on the plane in hindsight. We did ask the management company if they had one to rent but they did not have any to offer although did suggest a few shops to try nearby - we couldn't find one. Pools and grounds are cleaned and maintained daily so it is a lovely environment. You can arrange laundry and regular house cleans with management company if needed.

Family holiday

We stayed as a group of 11 family and friends and 5 teenagers ages 12-18. Our apartments were rented direct with the owners and they were perfect in every way two beds and two bathrooms rooms extremley handy when all getting ready of an eveing. They were located in fresia block over the wall from Ocean view or a short walk round. They had everything you could think of including torches for during power cuts. The area is very hilly and i wouldnt recommendfor anyone with walking difficulties. eating out and choice of bars are very limited i think I counted 4 in total and choice of food is very much the same in each establishment. At bottom end of the road is the sunrise bar/restraunt they serve food & drinks and they all so show the international football if looking for somewhere to watch your team in English. The supermarket has all the basics if selfcatering, however they dont stock any English brands. Entertainment there is nothing of an eveing, we spent every night in Ocean view and made the best of the limited WI-FI and the endless sounds of Enrique on repeat. The pools were safe and clean no life guards,Down at Royal Heights you can use the the infinity pool which offered great views of the bay. You can make a trip into Bodrum you can use the local bus service or take a taxi. the journey is about 40 minutes and its worth while going as you buy all your fake goods down at the shops for a very good price. Bodrum is very nice and the Harbour with all the boats is very pretty at night. There is more choice to eat and drink down in Bodrum but I imagine if you are here for two weeks the travelling cost could add up. We booked the boat trip twice this was very good, they take you out all day visiting 3 or 4 locations for swimming and sunbathing. They also provide a BBQ which is chicken or fish and plenty of vegetables and breads pasta it was great best food i had in the two weeks we stayed. Would I go back in a word NO ! my teenage children were fed up and bored every eveing and preffered to go back to the apartment and watch a DVD. Should you require a location that is away from it all quiet and you and you want to get fit this is your place. Would i go back no as far to quiet
