Our first ever all inclusive stay, and our first visit to Turkey. Amazing! Quality of hotel and staff excellent, great food. Would definitely recommend a visit here. A really relaxing and luxurious...
I could write a one line review but it would do the hotel an injustice. Why, when the hotel staff did so much to make our stay exceptional should I repay them with a one liner? So I wont: Upon arrival we were upgraded to one of the top floor residence rooms. A larger room than we booked and, in some ways, less convenient than the arrangement that we had booked but the extra space was welcome. The outlook, over the garden pool was exceptional and the room was very quiet. We had arrived late but there was plenty of food in the main restaurant. This is kept open late for people such as us. Next morning we decided to book ahead for the a la carte restaurant. Best to start early when the booking machines in the lobby are turned on at 8.30am. We found it impossible to book for that day and for the day afterwards as all reservations were full. However, we booked for the third night and repeated this process daily thereafter without hardship. Eating in the main restaurant those two first nights was hardly difficult as the choice is immense, the staff always very friendly and attentive, alcohol plentiful (should you wish) and adult only seating available if small children are not on your wishlist. Breakfast also takes place in this restaurant and, bearing in mind that the hotel has a capacity of 1300 guests it never ever felt crowded and we didn't feel rushed. The pool side places get taken quite early. Towels are exchanged daily from 8am onward. Being a sun burner I needed to stay away from full sun so we chose a spot further away from the main complex at the water slide pool. (If you want full sun but without the noise of the entertainment then pick the garden pool - it's always empty and sun beds are easier to obtain) The water slides aren't massive so it's quiet but things are still happening. Plus, book a bed at 8am by this pool - use it until 12.30 and then move the sun bed about 10 yards across the path to the cover of the trees and track the shade. This worked beautifully for us throughout the holiday. Fancy a drink - no problem! copious amounts including named brands and cocktails until you drop (if you want them). The nice thing about the bar by the water slides is it's quiet, the staff are really friendly and the best cappuccino in the hotel is served there too. We really liked the lobby bar in the evenings. It's a lot quieter than the pools side bars and benefits from a non smoking environment. A few nights a week there is live music, low key, but very nice and relaxing. There are huge chairs in which to relax. The staff there are attentive but not intrusive. Were it not for my sun burning I may well have taken more part in the entertainment. We've been through a busy time business wise recently and simply wanted to relax. There is wall to wall entertainment if you want it. If you don't the animators don't try to press gang you and that's really nice. The site is massive (more of that later) and once a week a special evening event takes place on one of the lawns near the beach at about 9pm. We really liked the disco that took place on our second week. We aren't great disco fans but the mood and feel was great. So, the site: firstly, the hotel is very tastefully designed. Architecturally a mix of modern with a twist of art deco. Certainly not a concrete blot on the landscape. There is a one mile fitness track around the circumference of the resort - all within the boundary. At the far end is the beach. At the near end is the entrance near the cat rescue centre (yes, tame cats allow you to stroke them as they lie blissfully in the shade around the property. Cat lovers, as we are, it was a tonic for leaving ours at home!). Tennis courts, archery, all there adjacent to a long majestic driveway up to the hotel foyer. Six very large pools scattered around the resort and never a feeling of being over crowded. Huge lawn areas where you can sit in the sun or under the trees. Shrubs everywhere - a garden paradise! At the far end is the beach. We didn't sit there as it is really hot. Loads of umbrellas and sun loungers and family as well as adult areas should you want quietness. If you want to be really decadent you can hire a pavilion for the day! So, we finally got to try the a la carte restaurants. They do add an extra layer of indulgence. Seven available if I recall - we ate in most, some several times, but you cannot frequent any restaurant more than once in seven days. Our favourite restaurants were the Turunc, Kuku and the BBQ. What really makes a huge impression on us is customer service - customer service is very much a focus in our business life so we really notice it! : I had some post cards to post and stood politely in the queue at reception. One of the bell boys saw me and offered to take the cards for me. Our son left his sun glasses at the Kuyu restaurant and didn't realise it until the next day. We called reception but nothing had been handed in. It was our last day so we strolled down to the restaurant but, being quite early, it was closed. I wondered if somebody may be around the back so we nipped onto the service road but the back was locked too. We noticed, in the distance, a chap walking down the road with a section of plywood. We stopped him and explained our situation. He called reception on his mobile phone, explained our problem to them and told us that the sun glasses had now arrived in reception. So many people in the UK simply wouldn't bother to help in such a situation: " more than my job's worth, mate!" We cannot compare this hotel to others in the area but, on our second to last day the tour reps met with us and another guest seemed unimpressed with the hotel. "Those little touches like being able to change your towel after 4pm are missing". We thought long and hard about what we would want to see done differently in the future. We can be picky, we know that. However, we simply wouldn't want to change a thing about the hotel or the way that it is run. It was perfect for us and we have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone! Well done Barut Lara - we loved our holiday and plan to come back again!

travelling with my children who are 10 and 8 we hoped the barut lara would be good in terms of things to do, choices of food ect and we were not disappointed, ! The facilities were brilliant with a crew of entertainment staff that were second to non ! I have read that some people have said the kids club was no good for children around this age, in my opinion this is rubbish,!, my children ran off to join in in lots of activities. The kids club team are brilliant with both boys and girls. The service in the many restaurants was of a very high standard along with quality of the food. This hotel completely deserves to be first in the ratings!, we would return for a holiday in a heartbeat!! Highly recommended!!! Thank you barut Lara x

Researched long and hard to find a holiday we thought our teenagers (as well as us) would enjoy and the Barut Lara was perfect! Large well thought out beautifully planted grounds with lots to do or room to relax, whichever you prefer. The pools are huge and there's always loads of room to swim or play. The main pool has a couple of sessions of Aqua gym a day and there are pool games in the morning which is always fun to watch - or join in if you're up for it! The food is great, plenty of choice in the main buffet whatever your tastes and speciality cooking on the veranda. The a la cartes, we've tried them all apart from the sofa and sandal have all been fantastic - the menus are near the booking machines, so have a look to check for your party. The system is straight forward, get there for 8.30 and book 2 days ahead. The staff throughout the hotel are superb and work so hard. You always get the impression that they care and it counts for a lot. Hotel also does lots of other sports and has a well equipped gym to burn off those cocktails! Everyone we met was really loving their holiday so good job barut Lara, we would return in a flash! Our teenagers absolutely loved this hotel, there are lots of this age group here and after overcoming initial shyness, they all get together and are always off somewhere. Our 14 year old disappeared all day and evening and our 16 year old was gone most of the night in the night club! Just a couple of notes barut - awful hairdryers! Not convenient in the bathroom, please put a proper one in the bedroom. The fixed one is positioned so low and the lead is so short, it was a real pain to use. Also when the booking machines are turned on by guest relations in the morning, please tell them not to disappear immediately but to stay and help! There is always someone who needs assistance and it holds the whole queue up. Tiny niggles though, perfect hotel, book, you won't be disappointed!
