Had a great weeks stay at the Barut Lara, stayed in may. We have been many hotels in the area and here 8 years ago. I loved how the hotel had quiet areas and busier areas and we never had to get up early for sunbeds. Used the al a cartes most nights and easy to book. Of course this can change when the hotel is full. I'm going to give a little review on it being wheelchair friendly as I do want to pass this info on. We saw at least four people using wheelchairs and after asking a lady if the facilities were good for users she did say 'yes, not bad at all'. I would not say it was excellent as its an older hotel and I suppose newer ones have better facilities but the lovely extensive grounds and space would make things easier. I managed to look at ones of the rooms (they have 4 wheelchair friendly ones) later in the holiday as I had to wait for the guests to check out. The room I saw was next to the quiet pool. Large bathroom and an OK sized bedroom, photos included. With a short transfer time I would say the Barut is ideal for everyone!

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel, the last time being in 2012. Both times I have stayed in May for one week and both times have been absolutely outstanding. If you are looking for a hotel to stay in Antalya then save your time because the Barut Lara is unbeatable. The food and drink are of a very high quality, the facilities are exceptional and the staff are the best I have ever come across and I consider myself fairly well travelled. I found everything runs extremely efficiently and like clockwork. If I had to describe the Barut Lara in one word it would be faultless. Even during the half term period when the hotel is operating with a high number of guests everything still runs to a very high standard. Check in is straight forward, your bags are taken to your room for you and a member of the guest relations team takes you to your room. I booked a deluxe sea view room, which was located in the main building and was not disappointed. The room was very modern, spacious with really good views of the sea. The room also came with bathrobes and slippers, which were a nice touch. The shower is fantastic. The room was cleaned twice daily and was spotless. The mini bar is stocked up every single day. The hotel grounds are huge and are immaculately well kept. Even during the half term period when there were a lot of guests it did not feel over crowded. There are a number of very large swimming pools and the beach is a very good size as well. The hotel has many facilities like table tennis, kids clubs, tennis courts and more. They offer a great number of activities during the day so you will never be bored. The animation team do a fantastic job with activities like archery, darts, beach volleyball. Each night at 21:30 the hotel has a show, like a magic show. I high recommend the salsa dance show. The hotel is close enough to the airport that the commute is not that long and is also very close to Antalya center. There is a nice shopping center within walking distance. Besides the main buffet restaurant there a number of other restaurants scattered around the grounds that need to be booked 24 hours prior. They have automatic booking systems for these, you simply swipe your room card in them and then book the restaurant. I am a fussy eater but found the food to be of a very high standard with lots of choice. Even during this busy period you never had to wait for food, the chefs were continually filling up the dishes. Little tip, the cakes are incredible. The drinks are also of a very good quality, the champagne is slightly sweet at first but after a few glasses you quickly get use to it. I have relatives who live in Antalya and they have said the hotel only uses the top brand water, wine and other drinks. What sets this hotel apart from any other I have stayed at anywhere in the world is the quality of the staff. Every member of staff is so friendly, efficient and extremely good at their jobs. The hotel is managed so well that everything runs like clockwork and there are no issues. It is clear that every member of staff works very hard to make sure the guests are not wanting for anything. I found if you want to be social with the staff they embrace that and likewise if you just want a professional level of service they can also provide that as well. After staying there for one night and going back to the same bar during the evening they even remembered my drinks order. After the evenings show there is live music or karaoke by the pool bar, which I highly recommend. Alternatively if you prefer a quieter bar there is a nice bar in the main building where they have piano music every night. This is what Five Star really means and is the only hotel in Antalya I will ever stay at. I cannot wait to return!

We went to our favorite hotel again, our 6th time and once again we had a brilliant time, we got a warm and friendly wellcom by all the staff as do all the guests ,everyone is treated the same with excellent service and a smile which makes you feel special ,the hotel and rooms are spotless and clean, the gardens are beautiful the gardeners work hard to keep them that way. Now the food ,a good variety and something for everyone in all the restaurants we were spoilt for choice we even had champagne for breakfast every day, go and see for yourself you won't be disappointed you will be going back for more like we do.

Stayed for 5 nights in May half term and first time all inc. huge place and full but never felt crowded. Hotel looks good and well kept, not luxurious and rooms very modern but nothing out of the ordinary. Food is good for a buffet with a massive choice every time that cannot be faulted. A la carte bookings are hard to get and you have to be at the booking machine quicker than you have to put your towel out to secure a bed if you want to get a table. It was strange as the first night we went to sandals there was only around 20% of the tables occupied though the booking system says full. They obviously want to push as many people down the buffet route as possible. Entertainment was good and seemed popular but as it's my first time on a holiday like this I have no comparison. The gym is good, indoor pool and choice of bars. The kids club wasn't used but it was hard to see what was on offer or what activities were planned to be able to choose. My children weren't that bothered so we didn't pursue it. I'm not sure what the hype was about the service. It was very average, nobody seemed too bothered although very keen to clear away before you'd even finished but slow to reset a table when you needed cutlery. A couple if incidences where staff were keen to finish their shift and refused to serve when the patisserie closed( though did serve the Turkish woman after me when I walked away) or were more interested in clearing away than bringing a knife and fork. I would explore other hotels if I was to come back to this area again but they are all probably quite similar. I felt I got a good deal online so quite a reasonable holiday. Beware of the shops. Drug store has no prices and charges extortionate prices on the spot, 63 tl for suntan lotion.
The weather is one of the main reasons why Antalya is so popular! Boasting, on average, 300 days of sun each year and only a few days of rain, Antalya is a fantastic holiday destination all year round.
The summer months in Antalya are absolutely beautiful, with the hottest months of July and August getting boiling! The summer months are long in Antalya, lasting from April until November. Temperatures range from 16ºC in April, rising to 28ºC in July and August and back down to 21ºC in October and 16 ºC in November.
During the winter months of December through to March the average temperatures range from 12 ºC to 13 ºC, making it pleasant weather if you want to get away from the UK's cold winters. However, December and January are Antalya's wettest months, so go prepared with an umbrella if you are going during these months.
